Basics

Name: Morgana Le Fay
Alias: Morgan, Black Witch, Nyarlothep
True Age: ~6000 Years
Gender: Female
Personality: Let us get one thing straight, right away. Morgana Le Fay is evil, right down to the core. She's a depraved, monstrous being wearing the skin of a beautiful woman, all for her own dark goals. She doesn't care about you, or your problems, only if you're useful to her. She'd sacrifice her own family for more power in a heartbeat, and if you tried to buy her only child, she'd only ask how much you'd be willing to pay her for it. Got it?

If so, then let us dive deep into what kind of monster in human skin Morgana Le Fay really is. At the base, she is an ambitious witch and spellcaster. Quite the natural, too. She's fascinated with manipulating people with the usage of magic, and has no trouble with torturing others with it, either. Almost naturally, she desires more and more power from magic - no little bit of power is enough to satisfy her hunger. If she thinks you know magic secrets that she wants to have, then good luck with the whole 'surviving' aspect of being the center of her attention. She especially hates it when people are better at her in any magical discipline, and does not mind mutilating both her mind and body for more spellpower. She would cut out her still-beating heart if she could survive it and increase her magical ability by doing so, for example.

Being such a black witch is the source of her evil, then. But how does being so deeply rooted in evil affect the rest of her being? Well for starters, she isn't exactly social. If you don't have anything about you to instantly spike her interest, be happy if she just ignores your existance completely and continues on reading a book on unspeakable horrors, or whatever else she might be doing. If she does find interest in a person, though, she becomes incredibly... manipulative.
She'll appear as a dignified, but nice magician, if need be. Maybe she'll play the part of a shy woman, or that of a seasoned war veteran. Whatever is needed to get closer to someone she deems noteworthy, she will do it and exploit them. But not only exploit them, no. She will also grant power instead of just taking it, but always with an ulterior motive - a gift from Le Fay might very well be more dangerous than whatever peril you were facing in the first place.

Adding to her approach to manipulation, she has no trouble using her body for it, either. She KNOWS she is attractive, and abuses it. Furthermore, she ALSO loves her body - and even though she might sacrifice her own flesh and blood for power, she will use that very same power to remain beautiful regardless, and hates nothing more than losing in the realm of beauty to anyone. Even someone stealing knowledge or power from her is not as hated as someone more beautiful or desireable than her.

What is her long-term goal, apart from power? Control and rulership. She wishes to be the witch queen of the entire world, and hold it in her cold and deadly grasp until she has choked the last bit of power, before letting it wither and die slowly. But not just out of her own malice, no. She wants to not only be a witch queen. She wants to transcend that, become immortal and divine - in short, she wishes to become a god, by collecting all the power possible in the world, and bursting away the chains of being a Sugiura - to be beauty and power eternal. Whatever else happens to the worlds after that is not something she would even care about - all she wishes for is to become a true god.

Furthermore, she despises being outsmarted. Should someone be smart or powerful enough to stand on equal ground, she will be cold, manipulative, and a lot more level-headed than her usual play the puts on. If she is respected, she will respect the one equal in her power - but would also still want to manipulate them. She does not follow anyone blindly or without her own agenda. She will give her magic in exchange for position and power... but trusting her is a bad idea in every single scenario.

General Appearance

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Animalistic Traits: None
Appearance Age: Mid 20's

Natural  Abilities

Basic Magic: As an ages old Magus, Morgan can utilize all basic magic of the Sugiura without any effort. Calling forth the Rho Aias comes as easily as summoning the energy of Shinkai, and that alone is reason to be careful around her.

Dark Influence: Thanks to diving into magics so ancient and evil that most wizards would rather die than learning them, a constant aura of foreboding surrounds Morgana. It intrigues those around her by nature, makes them fascinated and terrified at the same time. In short, it makes sure that nobody can look at her without noticing at least how outworldy beautiful she seems to be...

Beyond the Veil: Morgana is not an Old God, not quite. But she sure is closer to their kind than other Sugiura by now. Her body has been modified by excessive use of black magics, and in turn keep her young, beautiful and powerful. She can see beyond illusions and curtains of common reality, and for some reason, manages to stay sane even in the company of ancient horrors that could fry the minds of lesser people.

Magic Knowledge: You do not live for as long as her as a black witch without learning your fair share about magic. There is virtually no known Magecraft she does not know the theory of - she even knows the theory behind a few of the true magics, even if she is unable to use them directly.

Alchemy Grandmaster: This is the art of using many objects, most magical, some mundane, to create fantastical effects. The ultimate goal of Alchemy is the creation of the Philosopher's Stone, an artifact that grants immortality and the ability to turn any metal into gold. For Morgan, Alchemy is a means to an end only - she uses it to synthesize black magical substances, and learned most of her alchemical techniques from the extinct Einzbern clan.

Magecraft Unleashed

Magecraft: Morgan is experienced in many forms of Magecraft. Most prominently, she uses these types:

  • Body Alteration and Manipulation
  • Shadow Control Magic
  • Black Elemental Magic
  • Life Creation Immitation Magic
  • Contract Magic
  • Summoning Magic
  • Sacrifice Magic
  • Experimental Magic

Body Alteration and Manipulation
This Magecraft uses the users body as a medium and is thus very painful to execute - if one cares about pain, and Morgan doesn't. It twists the body of the user into the shape that they imagine within their minds, and is generally used to keep Morgana beautiful and young, no matter which twisted rituals she suspects herself to. However, she can also use it to assume her 'real' form of 'Nya', a terrifying monster. In that form, she resembles a mixture of spider, giant squid and woman - her arms and legs both turn into a magnitude of squirming tentacles that are strong enough to pierce through stone, and her 'head' is replaced by the head of a spider. This form is not the direct consequence of a spell - it is simply the form closest to what the soul within her looks like by now.

Shadow Control Magic
Shadow Magic is traditionally brought into connection with black mages - and Morgan is the reason for that. She can 'condense' shadows to use them as weapons and for defense, creating both fangs out of manifested darkness as well as shields and curtains that obscure her from aim and harm. Her control of this magecraft is so perfect that she can turn virtually invisible in the smallest possible shadow, and traverse through them like open portals. As long as she knows her target location, she will emerge from the shadow closest to it. Normally, travelling through shadows can severely damage the heart of the Magus, but Morgan's heart is too corrupted to even feel the touch of darkness any longer.

Black Elemental Magic
The power to control the basic elements - earth, wind, fire, water - is one traditionally associated with combat mages. Morgan twists the elements into darker, more powerful versions of themselves. However, the main point of the black elemental magics is that they are, in their very nature, corrupting - even Morgan can't use them without danger to herself. They devour spiritual energy of any kind extremely fast and are filled with essence of 'all evil of the world', meaning that exposure to them without protection can quite literally rape the mind of the victim before killing them - or even worse, turn them into twisted, evil versions of the original self. That is only a worst-case scenario, though - when used in combat, they are simply especially destructive elemental spells. Morgana can combine multiple elements into single spells for devastating effects.

Life Creation Immitation Magic
This evil discipline of magic goes against nature itself. By using the blood - or even better, the seed - of the target, blood from the 'mother', and waters enriched with black magics, an evil fetus is created, which can then be grown either in a vat filled with alchemistic goo, or carried out by a woman - the later will leave the created being less evil and more human-like. The so created being is known as a Homunculus - a inferior copy to the people that gave blood and seed for it. These Homunculi have little to no mind, usually, and can be modified and altered by black magic while still developing as a magical fetus. They can be used to grant children to those who would normally be unable to - but that is only rarely the goal of this magic. It has been perfected by the Einzbern clan before their eradication at the hands of a young Homunculus, and Morgan is the last known practicioner of this magic.

Contract Magic
The very reason why agreeing to ANYTHING with Morgana can be a bad idea. Once you give your word, she can twist it into a binding magical contract. The person affected by the magic will feel a strange, foreboding gut-feeling right before either agreeing or denying her offer, and saying 'yes' is as good as signing a contract with the devil using your own blood. These contracts can be as simple as 'tell me the truth' and as complex as 'serve me as a slave for eternity'. Of course, getting someone to AGREE to be her slave is the hard part of this spell, and will usually require a bit of torture. Of course, she could also intoxicate someone first using drugs, and THEN make them agree - the spell does not discriminate against evil techniques used. Breaking a contract requires either Morgan's consent, or high magic resistance in addition to a complicated ritual spell. Failure to erase a contract correctly can potentially kill the victim. It is impossible NOT to follow an agreed upon contract, even though short-term resistance might work out (longer with higher innate magic resistance).

Summoning Magic
Using her connection to the forces beyond the veil, Morgana summons forth a terrible creature to do her bidding. She can summon multiple creatures. The weakest are 'deep ones', fish people with a seering hatred to all humanoids, armed with barbed spears and poisonous teeth. The next stronger ones are dimensional shamblers - collections of corpse parts, worms, tentacles and black slime. No two shamblers look alike, and their stench is trong enough to possibly poison someone. They are slow, but incredibly strong and can devour a man whole. On the next stage, Morgan summons a Shoggoth - a black, slug and dragon like creature, with eyes all over it's body. It defies all senses of logic and physics, and drives normal humans insane with simply staring at them. They are as big as two elephants, and fast and powerful - their acid breath can break apart even spiritual metal. On the highest stage, she calls upon the help of an Elder God itself.
To use the last stage, she needs a living sacrifice to use as the 'core', who will most likely not survive this endeavour. Upon execution after a long-winded, complicated and incredibly breaking ritual for the subject, which involves tentacles and many sharp teeth, Cthulhu, the old one of the deep sea, is called into existance and given form, as a giant being - roughly the size of a skyscraper - which consists out of many tentacles, a dragon-like head, and a body resembling a mixture of concrete, worms, squishy flesh and steel. Just looking at him completely breaks the mind of a normal human into shards, and to defeat it, one has to destroy the head of the creature, and either kill the host - probably the more merciful option - or rip them out, upon doing that, Cthulhu will cease to be. Cthulhu is NOT controled by Morgana, and attempts to kill everything not outworldly around him - he will not attack Morgan, however, as she is nearly on the stage of being an Elder God herself.

Sacrifice Magic
Morgan can use life-force of others to fuel spells and to strengthen herself and her spells. This includes her own life-force - she can literally rip out a part of her own flesh to use it as a spell catalyst. Of course, the flesh and blood of others work way better than that. Using it to strengthen her magic and body is the reason why she lost most of her soul - using this type of blood magic cripples the soul of the user, turning them into a vile and evil creature that has to wear the mask of a human by means of other magic. The stronger Morgana grows, the MORE she benefits from using the flesh and blood of others.
To use flesh and blood, she needs to get her hands on it first, obviously. If you get injured in combat and leave behind a blood splatter, she could potentially touch it and use it to empower her spells until the blood was used up - or, if you were at her mercy, she could very concieveably rip out your still-beating heart and use it to fire a giant wave of shadows at your allies. In short, so use you as a sacrifice, you need to be in range and not able to defend against it - the more important the part used as a Sacrifice, the stronger it will make the spell - or Morgana herself, if she absorbs the life force from it into her own body.

Experimental Magic
Possibly the true reason as to why Morgana is so dangerous is this magic, although it has no (direct) combat application. Basicially, she experiments with every single component of her magic. Instead of summoning, she might step through the portal into the city of the Deep Ones and enslave a few directly, to figure out how they tick. She might visit Cthulhu in his hidden, alien city underneath the sea, or travel beyond the stars to converse with Azatoth. She might fuse Shadows with Life Creation to make new shadowy abominations to enslave for her own gain, or force black water down the throat of a dimensional shambler... And those are only the applications of actual Magecraft. One should not forget that, as far as the theory of magic goes, there is nearly no Magecraft she does not know - and in Experimental Magic, she can use them all...

Past & Roleplay Sample

Character Background: Morgana Le Fay, or Morgana of the Fairies. To see who she is, you need to look far into the past - to the beginning of Shimura's first Sugiura kingdom. During that time, she had many children which founded the base of her race - many Sugiura, to this very day, pride themselves on what bloodline of which elder they are related to. But the one daughter that nobody would ever admit to being related to is the dreaded black witch - Morgan Le Fay.
Born as one of the first daughters of Shimura, she was as beautiful as she was cunning. However, unlike most of her siblings, she had no connection to the Guardian Beast race that inhabited the home of her people. She was one of those who would later be called 'Magi' - a naturally born witch. Magecraft and the understanding of Magic were still many years away from her time, yet Morgan proved resourceful with what little she could do - and quickly developed a natural instinct for her Magecraft that many a Magus today would envy her for. With this power that she had worked so hard to achieve, though, came ambition and desire. She wanted MORE of this power - as she grew older and mature, she also learned to mask this desire better and better, to blend in with her brothers and sisters of the elder Sugiura.

Morgan, even back during that time, saw herself as the best her family had to offer. Nobody could match her in skill, strength or beauty, so she believed - it was obvious to her that, in due time, her mother would pass on the throne to the child most worthy - to her, the one who had taken on the name of the sprites that control the primal forces.
However, she didn't suspect how much her mother had already noticed the ambitions growing within her. Those that desire to rule are rarely good rulers - and so, the first one asked to be the next ruler was the wildest of the children. Sickened and shocked by this, Morgan would've probably even tried killing her sister, but Takuri cast away any connection to the throne to escape a fate as ruler. So the second choice should've been her again, so Morgan thought - the one strongest in the magical arts, even if not with the sword. But once more, Shimura's wisdom shone through, when she elected Misaiko as her heir, instead of Morgan.

This was like a slap in the face of the black witch, who began to hate her mother with a passion. Searching for ways to steal the kingdom that, according to the witch, belonged to her rightfully, she delved into the deepest realms of magic, and even beyond that. Conversing with shards of the Holy Grail was amongst her lesser crimes against nature - people went missing, especially servants assigned to her part of the Sugiura royal house, and the once beautiful black witch seemed to lose most of her glamour - pale, rugged and tired, that was the image people had of her when they even saw her at all. But, no matter what she did, no evil curse of technique took root in Misaiko, and Morgan could not openly attack her sister without destroying any chance of becoming queen.
It all took multiple turns for the worse when a strange man arrived at court and tried to win Misaiko's affections. He was a charming, if slightly foolish individual, who always talked big without much backing him up... But he knew how to write music like nobody else. Long before Misaiko fell for his charms, her sister Morgan, for the first time in her life, felt affection for someone rise in her heart - but Otoya only had eyes for her sister. Convinced that the beauty of her sister was at fault, Morgan delved into the dark arts to restore her beauty completely - while throwing away more and more of her humanity and soul in the process.

But no beauty in the world could win against true love, so Otoya and Misaiko ended up married as the new King and Queen. Morgan was furious - her sister had taken it all. The kingdom, the man she loved, everything. What little of a heart Morgana had left turned black and died - a dark rock, making cold blood run through her veins. Using her control of the shadows, she attempted to seduce Otoya, but the king had an uncanny resistance to illusions - he escaped Morgana's clutches, although he never found out who had attempted this attack on his honor and love.
When even these dark arts left Morgan without results, she resorted to easier and more primal methods. When Otoya returned from his training one day, slightly hurt, she used this situation to her advantage. Under the guise of healing his wounds as a passing notion with her amazing magic, she stole a single drop of his blood without his notice, and in her hidden chambers, used it to create something abnormal, horrendous and vile - a Homunculus, the ancient art perfected by the Einzbern family that Morgan steemed from. However, this time, her actions did not go unnoticed. Thanks to the efforts of the Knights of the Round, Morgana's black laboratory was found and burned to the ground - and she was exiled from the Sugiura dimension by her own mother, Shimura. Should she ever return, she'd be killed on the spot, so was the judgement.

It is unknown what completely turned Morgan into the dark, wretched hive of evil she became after that. Was it her broken heart, the ambition deeply engrained into her core, or the abandonment by her own mother? All of these were her own fault, in a way, but Morgan never saw it that way. She saw herself as the wronged, rightful queen - the witch that could've united the Sugiura Lands without any strife or war. A perfect being, that's what she was!
In her exile, she finally became what we know today of her. A vain sorceress, trapped in her own ideas of beauty and power. Her influence over the Sugiura Lands never completely disappeared - although sightings of her are more rumors and legends rather than actual documented events, every single one of them was followed by a disaster of some kind. One might even suspect her partially at fault for the unsealing of the 'wishmaker', the Holy Grail, although how much of that was truly her doing is unknown.

But she has not given up, and will never give up. One day, her lands will be hers alone. And when finally the age of Morgan Le Fay dawns, she will drain the lands of their power, unite it in herself, and become a god - so that she can rule the lands for eternity, as the black goddess that this heartless world deserves.
