| Magus Template Basics Name: Minori, Ayaka (里 彩華) Nicknames: Fūinsareta Daimahōtsukai (封印された大魔法使い; Jap. Great Sealed Magician) True Age: 1,270 (Birthday is August 29) Gender: Female Personality: Ayaka is far from being like her older sister. Whereas her older sister is broken and shattered, Ayaka is shattered but not broken. Though one interesting fact is that Ayaka does not even know she had an older sister, as Kasumi was sold off the January before Ayaka was born. Unlike Kasumi, Ayaka took everything that happened to her as something that was not her fault. To her, every bad thing that happens is not her fault. Her magic causes a building collapse—it wasn't her fault, the building was constructed weakly. She knocks over a lamp and causes a fire—it wasn't her fault, the lamp's holdings were loose. No matter how sturdy the building, secure the clamps, etc., it is always that thing's or the one who built the lamp's fault. However... she is just wired to feel that things are not her fault. She wants to change it, and has been suppressing it by taking things more into her own hands. This gives her a haughty perception to others, but Ayaka is far from haughty. She is truly quite generous and down-to-earth. As mentioned above, she is trying to get her responsibility -problem in control. One way she does it is by never buying food. Every thing she eats, she harvests or kills herself. Ayaka may not be the best when it comes to cooking, but she only has herself (and her mother) to blame for no skill already. She favors rather spicy foods, almost to the point to where it's inedible to others. She is much better when it comes to her barbeque, but she doesn't feel that strongly in it. In fact, Ayaka is insecure about her cooking skill altogether. Her insecurities could be the reasoning behind her responsibility avoidance. She doesn't feel as though she'll be able to withstand the criticisms from her. Not even just the criticisms, actually. Ayaka feels that she is horrible when it comes to the consequences of actions. This entails that she feels she's unable to physically handle the consequences. Ayaka knows she's physically strong enough, but she has doubts about her mental strength. That feeling also entails that Ayaka is afraid of the consequences. Not in the sense that she can't handle it, but the sense she always feels it won't be a simple "Don't do it again." No, Ayaka always imagines the consequences will be the worst imaginable. Even though she may be insecure about her own self, she is not insecure about her magecraft. As she had heard stories about a legendary magecraft called Kaleidoscope, Ayaka named hers after it. Mangekyō 〜 Niji Makimono is the sole thing she is entirely proud of. She may not feel that she can bring out its true potential (though she can), but she does feel it is worth to be named after the original. She does not like to show it off, as she is afraid she'll fail at its execution. General Appearance Appearance: Ayaka is like any of the Minori family. She has beautiful, fair skin. No blemishes or scars appear, and she only wears some eyeliner in terms of makeup. Her hair is the oddity for her family. Her hair on everywhere except her head is a solid dark orchid, like any of her family. However, her hair on her head is quite different. From her eyes down, it begins to fade to a luscious golden blonde. That is until it reaches her neck, where it is essentially that blonde until it ends. Her hair extends to her hips, and she has two long side-bangs that extend to the top of her cleavage. Her eyes a fierce, stern, and beautiful golden. She has soft, glistening lips that are said to drive men wild when she kisses them. Ayaka is rather strange when it comes to her fashion. She wears a pearl-white dress with a tall neck, which hides an ivory choker. That dress extends to her knees. Over that, she wears something a bit more... different. It is a black, almost-gothic style dress that has no center portion. It is closer to a coat than a dress in that aspect, as the only thing keeping it together is a pair of leather laces that cross one another five times before coming for hooks at both the top and bottom. There is also a loose black leather belt that is also attached by a hooking system, albeit stronger. The dress is lined scarlet, yet it has a white frill lining. Above the white frill is a matching, albeit shorter, black frill. The sleeves are inflamed at the shoulders, but sets of white leather bands keep the actual sleeves from being too flared. They have golden hooks that attach to the dress to make sure that they are tightly secured. While the sleeves themselves are not flared, the cuffs are. As for undergarments, Ayaka wears a specially-made bra that does not meet in the middle. It provides the same support without having the connecting middle. Her matching panties are black lace (and rather thin), and she also has a garter belt of matching black keeping her leggings up. Her leggings are also a dark black, which barely show skin. They have an intricate, matching floral design with her panties. From below her knees to above her ankles, Ayaka wears white leather straps not unlike the ones for her sleeves. However, these have no hooks. Her shoes are black leather with white leather straps keeping them tight. These also lack hooks. However, her shoes are platformed, and they add a total of 5cm to her height. Animalistic Traits: None Appearance Age: 18 Height: 160cm Weight:50kg Natural Abilities The Abnormality: Ayaka has no shadow. Nothing she wears has a shadow. This isn't to say if she opens her legs, there's going to be a blinding light. No, there simply is no shading. She remains the same color throughout, even if she goes out on the brightest day or the darkest night. Ayaka also has interesting blood. While it is inside her body, it is colorless. Once outside, it is red. Magecraft Unleashed Magecraft: Mangekyō 〜 Niji Makimono (万華鏡〜虹巻物; Jap. Kaleidoscope~Rainbow Scroll) Mangekyō 〜 Niji Makimono is a special magecraft. It is mainly color-based, which is a rare Magecraft type. It is mainly done from a medium, which is a specialized scroll-like device. The scroll's text is colored from one end to the other. It is a gradient that covers the visible light spectrum from dark violet to dark red. There is no paper, but it is instead a specialized energy that makes up the content of the scroll. The written language is readable only to Ayaka. The name of the scroll is Majin Kyōkan (魔人経巻). Her magecraft is divided into categories, each with their own spells. The categories are arranged by strength. In ascending order of power, they are: Noroi, Kitchō, Hikari Ma, and Dai Mahō. Noroi (呪い; Jap. Curse)- Noroi ~ Gokuraku no Murasaki no Kumoji (呪い ~ 紫の雲路 ; Jap. Curse ~ Cloudy Way in Purple): This is a passive spell. It coats Ayaka in what can be called "color movement." This sounds complex, but it basically is like a chameleon. It takes the colors of what is around Ayaka and projects it around her. This creates a near-perfect visible camouflage. She can be seen when dust or water hits her, as she blocks their flow. She can keep it up for four posts.
- Noroi ~ Majin Fukushō (呪い ~ 魔神復誦 ; Jap. Curse ~ Devil's Recitation): This is a strange, yet passive spell. A 500m by 500m by 500m cube with Ayaka as the center will be area of effect. After the spell is cast, the colors in this area completely invert. This has no real power other than it is hard to get used to and it's pretty damn trippy. She can keep it up as long as she is in the thread.
- Noroi ~ Makai Chō no Yokō (呪い ~ 魔界蝶の妖香 ; Jap. Curse ~ Mystic Fragrance of a Makai Butterfly): Much like Majin Fukushō, this spell is passive. It too takes place in a 500m by 500m by 500m cube with Ayaka as the center as the area of effect. Unlike the former spell, this spell removes all color in the area, turning the cube into a grey wasteland. She can keep this one up for only three posts, however.
Kitchō (吉兆; Jap. Good Omen)- Kitchō ~ Murasaki no Kumoji (吉兆 ~ 極楽の紫の雲路; Jap. Good Omen ~ Nirvana's Cloudy Way in Purple): Ayaka will extend Majin Kyōkan to a rather long length. Majin Kyōkan will then wrap itself into a sphere around Ayaka. This creates a defensive barrier around her. This can block even the strongest kidou, but will be far easier to cut with a sword. It can also be broken in a single, strong punch or kick. It has an another interesting effect, however. It can roll. Thus, Ayaka has created a large, defensive hamster ball. She can keep it up for 6 posts with a three-post recharge period.
- Kitchō ~ Shiun no Omen (吉兆 ~ 紫雲のオーメン; Jap. Good Omen ~ Omen in Purple Mist): This is a rather interesting spell, as it involves Majin Kyōkan. Majin Kyōkan is expanded to be ten meters of content, meaning the energy is now ten meters long. Its content is then semi-solidified, creating an energy blade. Ayaka then allows the scroll to float behind her. She controls the two ends of Majin Kyōkan with her hands, creating an "cutting ribbon" style of fighting, which is elegant. She can keep it up for six posts, with a three-post recharge.
- Kitchō ~ Byakurenhijiri (吉兆 ~ 白蓮聖; Jap. Good Omen ~ Holy White Lotus): Byakurenhijiri is the only truly melee spell Ayaka has. Ayaka wraps the Majin Kyōkan around one of her hands or feet. After the two ends of the Majin Kyōkan meet, the scroll disappears and her hand (or foot) begins glowing a bright white with a faint pink glow. The only reason Byakurenhijiri is only at this level is because of its range. It has the raw power of Hikari Ma, bordering on that of Dai Mahō, but its range prevents it from being on the levels of those two. Upon contact with a surface, the first effect is a disruption. The energy within the surface (if not human, it is a 10-meter radius) is completely disrupted, making it nigh-uncontrollable. This adds the second effect. Not only is the surface's own energy out of control, Ayaka sends as much as her raw, untamed energy through the contact point as she can. This creates a massive disruption within the disruption. This can either cause a very painful and explosive death or extreme pain and the inability to use energy-based abilities, even racial ones. The problem is that it severely burns Ayaka's arm (or leg) that is covered. By severely, that means second degree burns. She can use it once per thread, no matter if it connected or not. She needs a one-post period if it did connect with something with no magic to recharge. If it did not connect, then there is no recharge period.
Hikari Ma (光魔; Jap. Light Magic)- Hikari Ma ~ Mahō Gingakei (光魔 ~ 魔法銀河系; Jap. Light Magic ~ Magic Galaxy): This is one of Ayaka's stronger passive spells. Mahō Gingakei stops anything that could change colors. While that seems rather weak, there are many things that change colors. Shadows, for example. are an example of color change. Thus, it would stop something that would cause a shadow. However, this only has one purpose—retreat. No damage can be done from Ayaka, but shadow-less attacks can hurt her, as she has no shadow. It allows her to retreat by restricting the movements of opponents. It can be used once per thread and affects a 100-meter radius from the origin point.
- Hikari Ma ~ Sutāsōdo no Gohō (光魔 ~ スターソードの護法; Jap. Light Magic ~ Star Sword Apologetics): This is one of Ayaka's more interesting spells. It is a homing spell, but it doesn't have the effects of a normal homing spell. Ayaka holds one end of the scroll, and the other end follows the opponent. However, it never reaches them. That is because it is not meant to do that. It's a tactic to use against high-speed opponents. Why? Because after two posts (or two kilometers) of following the target, it stops. The scroll's "content" is solidified. It creates a blade-like edged net along the target's path. That is not the only thing. As long as Ayaka is holding the scroll, it can fire any of the spells that require the scroll as a medium from any and/or all sections of it at the spell's normal strength. Ayaka can keep the spell active for four posts, but it can be increased with her training. After it is de-activated, she has a two-post recharge period.
- Hikari Ma ~ Sutāmeirushutoromu (光魔 ~ スターメイルシュトロム ; Jap. Curse ~ Star Maelstrom): This is a spell whose raw power is on the level of Dai Mahō. It has a single effect—destruction. It could be comparable to carpet bombing, but that's not exactly correct. Carpet bombing refers to simply causing damage to a large part of a city or piece of land. Obliteration bombing is what this spell is closer compared to. Four circles of energy will appear behind her. In the center of each circle (and extending past the perimeter of the circle) is a lotus-like design. Through all of them, the same language on Majin Kyōkan is spelled all throughout. Directly behind Ayaka, another, fully bloomed lotus flower-shaped energy circle appears. From the smaller four, Ayaka can fire not spells, but darts made of shining white energy. The darts are 60 cm long and 10cm wide at its widest. She has a rate of fire of 4,800 rounds per post per circle. That is a total of 19,200 of those darts raining at maximum output. Each single dart can explode half of a meter in all directions. While they have minimum penetration, the fact they explode almost immediately upon penetration is what causes the damage. They have a range of a 100-meter arc in front of Ayaka, meaning they can only really fire in front of her. Ayaka can only keep that for two posts and has a one post period of no magic. She can only use it once per thread.
Dai Mahō (大魔法 ; Jap. Great Magic)- Dai Mahō ~ Chakushoku Gingakei (大魔法 ~ 着色銀河系; Jap. Great Magic ~ Colored Galaxy): This can be called her "spam form." Her hair loses the purple and turns golden, like the ends of her hair. Her eyes begin to glow slightly as well. This form supplements her entire energy supply without herself being strained. Essentially, the limitations (save for range) of her spells (except this spell and Suijaku Dainichinyorai) are removed. This lasts for three posts now, and it can be increased with her training to use her spells more efficiently. She can only use it once per thread. She can not use any magic after its use for a total of two posts, unless this spell is cancelled before the third post. Then, it only takes one post of no magic.
- Dai Mahō ~ Suijaku Dainichinyorai (大魔法 ~ 垂迹大日如来; Jap. Great Magic ~ Manifestation of Mahavairocana): There is a reason this spell is is on this level. It is the removal of color. It is the eraser. Ayaka opens Majin Kyōkan to a 1-meter length. She will touch a color represented. Everything of that color within a 10 meter radius in any direction of her is removed. Shields are meaningless. It has many applications, as it could easily kill or cure or even clean. Anything of that color in that area is gone. This has limitations. Mainly, she doesn't have a greyscale on Majin Kyōkan. She also can't get an exact color, such as skin tone or eyes. She can't touch multiple colors either. Skin tone also has another issue, as she can't use brown. It can affect her as well. She can use it once per thread. She has a four post period of no magic.
Past & Roleplay Sample
Character Background: Ayaka was born eight months after her older sister was sold to the Ouka family. It would be the ultimate irony that the first (and last) born after Kasumi was sold, would not only be a daughter but also be born one day after Kasumi's birthday. And if that wasn't enough, she was conceived the night of Kasumi's selling. Yes, Ayaka was born on the exact hour of Kasumi's birth, one day and thirty years later. But to Ayaka, that did not matter. As all evidence of an older sister was long gone. Her parents never mentioned Kasumi, and neither did her older brothers. Ayaka was raised as the first daughter of the Minori family, brought up in praise. However, she still had to work. When she was old enough, her father made her a hori-hori, which is a traditional weeding knife. Her family may not owe debt to the Ouka family, the Minoris did still have to support their family.
And it was because of them having to work that Ayaka's family began to break down. No, not just her family, Ayaka too began to break down. Her family did not grow, but the cost to support the family did. Thus, Ayaka and the rest of her family had to increase their work. Eventually, even that became nigh-impossible to do. Her father began working his children higher, taking it mainly out on the weaker Ayaka. This began to take its toll on her. After nearly a year of the increasingly-difficult labor being pushed upon her, Ayaka finally snapped. However, she did not break. She took the spade used to dig up her father's own potatoes and cut his leg off in a single swing.
Ayaka stood over his body as he screamed. Her mother and brothers did not help him. Ayaka smashed the spade through his other leg, saying she was "clipping the roots." She took the rake her father was using and scraped his shirt off. She then scraped his chest's skin. As he lay there, trying to crawl away on his back, Ayaka plunged a pitchfork through his right arm, while also stabbing a trowel through his left hand. She took a mattock from the tool cart beside them, driving it into his left lung from the side. As if she weren't don't, she took the hori-hori that her father had made for her and cut off his fingers. Before she was finished, Ayaka used the rake once again. She raked his face off almost completely, leaving nothing but an unidentifiable mass of muscle and blood. To finish her father off, she grabbed the large post hole digger. She stabbed the two edges to the side of her father's heart, but not before breaking the sternum slightly with the digger. She pulled out her father's heart and took a bite out of it. She did not spit it out, and actually swallowed it. She crushed the remaining 3/4 of the heart with her right foot. Her father, as abusive as he was, was now dead.
Not five seconds later, she collapsed to her knees. She vomited uncontrollably. She was sick with herself. How could I do this!? She asked herself. Her mother came up behind her, hugging her tightly and telling her simply "It isn't your fault." She repeated that for about an hour until Ayaka calmed down. Ayaka spent three days in bed. During that time, it is unknown what happened to the evidence involving her father's murder. Ayaka slept most of the time, but she constantly mumbled "it isn't my fault" when she was awake. Not long after she began walking again, Ayaka's mother gave Ayaka the Majin Kyōkan. She said that the language on it would change to reflect the user, and that Ayaka was ready for the responsibility of this scroll. It was afterwards that Ayaka left her home, as she felt Majin Kyōkan was a gift of saying "I think it's time you left." It wasn't a rude way, it was the mother saying Ayaka could not blossom in the shadows of their cottage and needed to spread her wings.
That was quite a long time ago, though she forgets how long exactly. From then until now, Ayaka has been wandering throughout the East. She had no real practice against other magi or anything like that for the first few hundred years of her wandering. In fact, she practiced only when she was staying somewhere for more than just a few days. And then, she encountered a flock of golden butterflies, which manifested soon after as a beautiful blonde woman. Ayaka does not remember what was said or done, but it caused an incident. By incident, a mean a full-on fight. The golden woman and Ayaka were far apart in skill. The golden woman quickly overwhelmed Ayaka. The golden woman, before she disappeared back into butterflies, she said "There is nothing to blame but yourself for your failing just now." That resonated within Ayaka. Maybe some things are my fault.
Ayaka wandered for many more years until she found a small cottage for sale on the outskirts of the capitol. It was cheap, as it did not have any of the modern technology newer houses and such had. Using the little money she had, Ayaka bought the cottage, where she now resides. But why this one? Simple, Ayaka didn't want to injure anyone while training. Yes, Ayaka needed to show that she could—by herself—train to surpass that golden bitch. When not training, Ayaka was cultivating the area around her house to harvest food to both sell and eat. While she has not encountered that golden woman since then, Ayaka is confident that her training has not only made her surpass the golden woman, but also has given her the satisfaction of doing something herself.
