Sometimes, he absolutely hated going out in the mornings. The light got into his eyes, it became harder for him to properly hide himself, and it was just generally quite a disgusting thing for him. However, he had no choice this morning--it wasn't a school day for him, but there was something he most certainly had to do... purchase groceries. He trudged out of his front door with a grim expression and looked down at the street. It was empty. Bah. There were better things he could do with his mornings, like train, but nooooo he needed to buy food in order to keep surviving. If he could survive without food, then sure, why not... but obviously his body, being one that ran off of metabolism and spirit energy, required the food to keep itself in check and alive. With a soft sigh, he locked his door behind and launched himself over the balcony railing, falling the two stories and landing softly, calmly on his feet. He stood up straight, brushed himself off and looked to the side at the dead street with derision. Seriously, what students were awake at nine a.m on a Sunday morning, especially in a place where you were giving money weekly for merely being students. He checked his watch and touched, flicking up a quick check of his bank account. The display showed $130, which would be enough for a week's food and probably a nice lunch later on if he felt like it.
Humming quietly, he turned down the street and in a general direction; wandering down the path towards the supermarket--it was a short walk, but carrying several large bags would make the return trip feel just that much longer. It would be a bother, to say the least. A bother that he needed to go through once a week--on the day, on the hour. Sighing quietly to himself, he plodded along the path and watched the sights with an almost serene expression. Sure, he hated having to do something this bothersome; but hey--it wasn't like he was alone in his endeavour, or at least not completely. There was the occasional person walking along this road as well, and in the same direction as he--but something caught his eye, walking into the store that he was about to enter. It was... well, there were several people going in there, but one of them stood out from the rest. He'd have to further investigate, but he had to remember to shop. Women were nice, but they didn't get the food to be put on plates... that was entirely his job, and he'd be unable to forget that. Food first. That was the priority.

Ai's entire day was lousy so far. First, her dishwasher broke. Secondly, Kiokure refused to stay in his cage and forced her to bring him along. Thirdly, she had absolutely nothing to wear! She ran out of money feeding the bottomless pit she called a friend, though most knew Kiokure as her pet, and was out of money! Of course, she was lucky enough to find a couple of bucks lying around the house, and since she already bought Kiokure his food, she was able to spend this on herself. So now, with the 'little' guy wrapped around her belly, she was making her way to the store. The day was clear, at least that's what the false sky above Academy City implied for the people of the town. Ai was quite appreciative of the lengths the academy went through; it was much better than black roof it normally was. Who knew living in an underground city would be so... relaxing? Anyways... Ai made it to the store, but the moment she was about to enter the store, a certain someone decided to act up. "Kiokure!" Ai pushed his head back down into her shirt, as he attempted to escape through the collar of her shirt, "Stay!" She shot a quick glare at him and he laid his head down on her upper chest. Wrapping her jacket around her, though doing it to make him warmer, Ai glanced around. Though she did not mean to do it, this action was obviously rather suspicious. While looking around, she began stepping into the store, but something caught her eye. A man was staring at her. She looked him up and down, grabbed onto the stores door handle and opened it up, narrowing her eyes in suspicion as she walked into the store. "What was that look for?" Kiokure asked, once again peeking his little head through the collar of her shirt. "Just... thought I saw something, a man was looking at m-... No, nevermind..." she said, but then brushed it off. She walked into the first aisle and began looking around, for some reason not being able to fully kick that man from her mind.

Yeah, she noticed. He almost sighed in frustration, looking away quietly to the side for a moment just to throw her off--he waited about a second before looking back to see if she was, and no she wasn't. With a quiet chuckle, he kept a quiet eye on her for a moment more before she disappeared behind shelving and he turned back into his own shopping. Had he continued to stare, she likely would've reprimanded him: so it was a good moment to end the staring contest with a girl he'd likely never see again from more than fifteen feet away. A pity, too. She was cute. But of course, life went on, so he started to wander down the aisle with a careful intent. If he remembered correctly, he was in need of some milk first. Looking to the sides and then down to the basket he had picked up as he'd ambled into the store with eyes on another location, he found what he was looking for and reached in to pick up the smaller bottle. He didn't drink much milk, he mused, and really didn't need too much. Smiling to himself he put the white plastic bottle into his basket and continued onwards, adding margarine and some cheese into his basket. Now that he was finished with that aisle, he turned outwards and into the next, catching the eye of the girl again but continuing. In this aisle... what was he looking for next? Picking out the list from within his pocket, he quietly studied it for a moment:
Milk
Margarine
Cheese
Rice
Pasta
Tea
Vegetables
Meat
Eggs
Toiletries
"It appears... rice and pasta in this aisle. Alright." He nodded to himself and started to walk down the aisle he'd memorized over his time here. That was the thing about living in one building for your entire school life; you knew the places nearby. He'd even written his list in the order of the aisles as he remembered them. The expensive rice was the first to come in, but next came the cheap pasta. He could afford to get the nice rice; it made his life easier. After that came the tea and baking goods aisle. Kasai didn't like to bake--he really didn't enjoy cooking that much but had no choice in the matter--one could not eat takeout every day of the week. Instead, he focussed on making simple meals. Rice was a good food, and he liked high quality wherever it was involved. But now... He turned into the next aisle, and started to wander down towards his usual spot. It appeared to be there, and as he reached down to pick it up he noticed a hand appear on the same box that he was reaching to grab. Turning his head, he suddenly noticed that there was a face right next to his, and it was strikingly familiar.
"Oh."

"God damn it..." Ai said in the language of the snake. "What!?" Kiokure peeked his head out of her collar again. "That guy came into the store..." she replied. "What guy?" Kiokure asked and peeked through two buttons on her shirt, "Oh.. that guy." Kiokure brought his head back into her shirt and looked up to her. "Whatcha gonna do about it?" he asked. "Nothing..." Ai said, hoping that this was just a slight paranoia. It was just odd that the he was looking at her before, so she couldn't help it. Ai moved through the aisles the way she normally did, quickly, quietly, and avoiding everyone in them. The only problem was, that guy kept catching her attention. She was filling her basket with the few things she could buy, comparing prices to make sure she got the better deal, and that's when she saw him in the same aisle as her. It was only one time, so she pushed it off, quickly moving on to the next aisle. "I swear... He's following me." Ai said to Kiokure. "I'll bite him!" Kiokure replied, but Ai shook her head. "That would cause more problems than it's worth." Moving on, she was able to get most of what she needed, except one item. "Last one... Good. Then we can get out of here..." she said as she made her way to the aisle. "Ahh... Your favorite, huh?" Kiokure said and Ai nodded with a sweet smile given towards him. She entered the aisle and looked around, "Where is it... Where is it..." That was it... Her final aisle and once again *he* was there. "You can't be serious..." she narrowed her eyes and decided it was time to get out of there. She looked around and saw a bag of rice. She did not pay attention to the price or what brand it was. She merely went to grab it and froze when she saw a hand heading towards the same bag, and it was the last one.
Ai turned her attention towards him... and stood up perfectly straight. "Oh?" she said in a mocking tone, mimicking his only response to their encounter. Ai's eye's widened a little as she brought the bag of rice behind her back, as if to hide it from him. She tilted her head to the side and stared at him, blinking twice. "Why are you following me?" Ai asked him and then pointed towards the front of the store, "You were staring at me out there, then you end up in the aisles that I am in! Why are you following me!?" Ai glanced him up and down, then returned her *insane* looking gaze to his face. "He's cute." Kiokure said, a low hiss coming from her shirt. Ai ignored him though, not wanting to cause any alarm, whether she agreed with his statement or not. How the hell would a snake know anyway!?!?! Last time Kiokure was found in a store, she was banned, which is why she was now forced to shop in this one. "Well!?" Ai raised her voice a little, irritated at the situation, but not stupid enough to cause problems.

"Why are you following me?" Huh? He looked up to find his face meeting that of the pretty girl. Almost instantly, his brain tried to ensure that he didn't have any problems in his looks--was his hair properly-brushed? He recalled brushing his teeth and putting on deodorant, but he wasn't sure of anything else. He tried to avoid her gaze for the first half-second or so, since he wasn't sure what she would do if they locked eyes. Honestly, he wasn't sure of anything that this girl would do--was she going to attack him for apparently 'following' him? He swallowed back his frustration at her sudden attack on his reasoning, and instead tried to give her his kindest and calmest smile.
"I'm not sure I follow." No pun intended, of course. Language was a funny thing, if you thought about it. Especially English. With a sigh, he slowly straightened up until he was staring at her from a proper position, carefully shaking his head with a chuckle. "You were staring at me out there, then you end up in the aisles that I am in! Why are you following me!?" He blinked, before laughing. He, of course, didn't laugh too loudly. If he did, then the entire store would hear him and look strangely in his direction. Instead, he merely laughed quietly, holding his stomach lightly and looking downwards--specifically at the floor so that she didn't have reason to accuse him of being a pervert--before looking back up at the girl with what was likely one of his more roguish smirks.
"Well!?"
"Well what? You seem to assume coincidence to be action--I can't believe you're serious... you are serious, right?" he hoped she wasn't, but continued, "Either way, I'm not following you. At least, I'm pretty sure I'm not--unless I'm meant to be via some divine providence." He grinned, before placing his hands in his pockets. I'd follow her anywhere. He wouldn't say that out loud. That would elicit a rather painful slap to the face. He could just disappear, though he didn't know if she had powers that countered that. "Anyways, since it was a rather rude way to be introduced--I'm Kasai. No need for surnames as of yet." His grin turned into a kindly smile with closed eyes. He didn't need to flirt too hard--or at all--right now.

"... Really?" Ai blinked a couple times, a calm look on her face, "Was that some sort of joke?" Ai quickly waved it off before he answered and just continued on questioning him. She called him out on staring at her while she was outside of the store and about how he ends up in every aisle she is in. Suddenly he began laughing at her. Ai was taken aback. Her expression shifted to slightly annoyed as she looked up at him. "What's so funny!?" she asked, "Well?" He finally spoke up, but it wasn't what she wanted. He asked her if she were serious about what she was asking. She didn't know how to reply to it. He called it a coincidence and, if he was telling the truth, she felt like an idiot. She glanced away from him, her cheeks turning annoyingly red. "Yeah... Maybe some energy beyond our control set a pre-determined path upon us, bringing us to this store on the same morning to make sure our future of being husband and wife is secured!" Ai spoke out with extreme sarcasm, though a moment later she actually giggled at it. She shook her head at herself. He went on and introduced him in a friendly manner. "Yet?" Ai raised an eyebrow. Something about him caught her interest, though she did not know what. "Yes... yet..." she said and held her hand out to him, "My name is Ai--EEEEE." She suddenly twitched a little bit, jumping slightly as she felt a tickle on her waist. She shot a glare downward towards her waist, hissing lightly. She looked back to Kasai and cleared her throat as she felt Kiokure sneaking up her shirt and to her collar. Ai brought her hand back quickly and placed it over the color to block exist. "I'm Ai.. Sorry about that... A little.. tickle..." she glanced away from Kasai and sighed, "Great first impression... I'm such a freak at times."

Well, didn't her tone change? Although she still seemed relatively annoyed, it was in a direction that he hadn't anticipated. She was starting to turn redder as the seconds went past, and although he really wanted to laugh at her for this action--it really was quite cute. If he took a moment to look over her--not too obviously--he would see that she really wasn't that shabby in terms of appearance, though he momentarily noticed a little bit of movement around her chest. Bah, he didn't care to know. Instead, he returned his gaze directly to her face, watching for any apparent signs of frustration beyond the extremely bright red cheeks.
"Yeah... Maybe some energy beyond our control set a pre-determined path upon us, bringing us to this store on the same morning to make sure our future of being husband and wife is secured!" He blinked. That was... "Part of me thinks you'd enjoy that." He had a completely straight face, and tried to hold in as much laughter as possible. Yes, he was teasing her. But no, he didn't deny her cuteness. Instead, he merely kept himself chuckling while he waited for her continued response. She asked about his 'yet' quote, but then went on to introduce herself as Ai-EEEE. Eeee? Blinking, he tilted his head lightly to the side. She... hissed. Okay.
"I'm Ai.. Sorry about that... A little.. tickle..."
"A tickle? I question the object or being that could tickle you like that, but okay." He smirked and chuckled, folding his arms and looking around. There were few other people around; especially at this time of the morning and on the weekend. "You know, I feel that we should get back to our respective shops. As interesting as it is conversing in the aisle, I worry that we may be spotted and mistaken for a young couple. I figure you wouldn't appreciate that much." He chuckled again, placing his item into his basket. While she was cute, she could also be taken--or even more depressing, gay. Instead, he would see how she acted around him a bit more, as time went on.

Her tone probably changed a little too much. She wasn't used to talking to people, let alone a man that she actually found slightly attractive. At that, he was talking to her! Most guys she came across were jerks. They made fun of her and ridiculed her until she could no longer take it. Kasai was speaking to her like a normal human being. Though there were a few times he had laughed at her, she didn't feel offended by it at all. In fact, with what had been done, she wasn't really bothered by it at all. It only made her feel like an idiot and cause her to blush a little. And then when she tried to make a joke and be sarcastic by playing off of something he said, he turned it around on her completely! For a moment she had no idea how to reply. She was stuck, at a complete loss for words for a few seconds. "Wha-What? I'd enjoy that?!" Ai said nervously as she went to step back away from him a bit and glanced off to the side, but she stopped. She thought about it for a moment, looked back to him, and glanced him up and down, making it quite obvious that she was 'checking him out'. "I have no idea. Maybe? You're not exactly bad looking. In fact, you're really attractive... Though I don't see any attractive man liking me any time soon, so... it's highly doubtful. Anyways..." Ai moved on and introduced herself in a strange manner. Kiokure had decided to be a brat and tickle her while trying to pop out of her collar again. She apologized for the yell and re-introduced herself, though he questioned her. Who could blame him? Not many people randomly jump and squeak for no apparent reason. And then he brought up a fantastic point! It was time to get back to shopping. "Oh.. Y-Yeah... Let's do that!" Ai said and began backing away from him. She took a step off to the side and walked passed him up the aisle. And then it happened... Kiokure got gutsy! Kiokure's tail came whipping out the side of Ai's shirt, shot towards Kasai's jeans, slid through the belt loop, and practically jerked Ai back towards Kasai. "Go flirt with him!" Kiokure said right before Ai went flying right back into Kasai...

And like that, their paths seemed to separate. It was kind of sad, now that he thought about it. With a sigh, he watched as she moved past him, walking behind him. He could stop her. He could turn around now, and say something. Why not? Why shouldn't he do such a thing? He prepared to turn to look behind him, before feeling something hook up against his pants. "W-woah!" Pulled backwards, he felt himself collide with the back of a person that felt small enough to be familiar. Ai had been pulled closer to him at the same time, and he looked back over his shoulder at the locks of brown hair, before closing his eyes and looking ahead. A quiet hissing sound escaped from around his ass, before he was released by the force that pulled them back together.
As easy as it would have been to merely drop into stealth and disappear, he instead decided to take the hard route--and turned around to see the person that he had been pulled back towards. "Unexpected," he took the initiative and spoke first, smiling kindly at the girl and waiting for her next words. "I suppose this means we're staying together for a longer time, huh?" Quiet laughter escaped his throat, and he placed a hand onto his right hip. "If this is the case, shall we finish our shopping together? I'd rather speak in a place less... echo-y." His eyes moved up and around the ceiling, as if looking for invisible spies.

The moment their backs made contact, Ai's face lit up in a tomato-red. She slowly turned her head back towards Kasai with wide eyes and a nervous expression. He spoke first. "Y-Yeah..." she replied as she attempted regaining her composure, "Sorry about that... I-... uh... just slipped." Ai reached behind her back and grabbed onto Kiokure, intentionally squeezing him. "I guess so..." she said in reply to his second statement as she squeezed a little harder on Kiokure. Kiokure hissed in pain and Ai continued to hold onto him, though she did not squeeze anymore. "Uh..." Ai glanced up at where he was looking and then back to him, "Sure. If you want, though I don't have much else to get... Just some rice." she explained as Kiokure slithered around and nipped at her hand. "Ow!" she pulled her hand out of the back of her shirt and looked to see a small trickle of blood. She placed it in her mouth and reached back with her other hand without thinking. "Did you just bite me?!" she said in normal English, knowing Kiokure would understand it. She pulled Kiokure straight out of her shirt and he shot out from her hand, knowing he was in trouble. His target of sanctuary, Kasai. He immediately darted towards Kasai in an attempt to wrap around his neck and hide behind him, though Ai was unsure of Kasai's reaction to that. Not many were used to a snake being around their neck, others were down right scared of them. "Kiokure!" she yelled at him in the language of the snakes as she began moving after him...

Oh, so it was just a slip-up, eh? Kasai raised his right eyebrow in suspicion, since he had definitely felt something latch onto the belt loop around the back of his jeans--and yet she seemed nonetheless embarrassed. That meant it to be likely that she hadn't pulled him, so some force had mutually pulled them together. What, was it her power or something? Her hands went behind her back, and Kasai was certain that he heard a muffled hissing noise. He'd heard the hissing a few times before, and it was making him most certainly suspicious. Ah, well, he'd likely find out what was going on at a later time. With a soft sigh, Kasai folded his arms over his chest with the eyebrow lowering back down to a manageable level.
His mind went back over his list--he could get toiletries later, so all he really needed to get was the eggs--it was a good thing that he liked to save the breakable goods for last, otherwise who knew what would happen? He lowered the basket to the ground momentarily, making sure that it was safe enough for him to rearrange things--he still hadn't put his own rice into the basket yet. Suddenly, she shouted out, before putting her hand into her shirt and speaking asked if he bit her.
"N-no, why would I bite you?" Oh god she's crazy. A snake was pulled out from her shirt and seemed to be thrown in his direction--and Kasai reacted almost completely on instinct. The snake flew towards him and went to wrap around him, but it was too late, as it wrapped around a plastic pipe that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The pipe dropped to the ground, but it was safe to say that it landed in a way that preserved the life of the snake (minus a bit of ground shock from the fall). What had happened, though? Although nobody would be able to notice him, Kasai was standing behind the pipe, completely invisible.
Sigh. What to do? I could reappear, but she might get a fright. That said, I don't want to leave such a cute girl completely confused. What a bother. His thoughts returned, as did the appearance of his body. As he reappeared, the pipe disappeared--leaving the snake stranded on the ground. "Usually, one does not throw snakes at people when they've first met. From what I've gathered, however, he understands you and is therefore a pet. It's unusual to see someone who can speak to animals, or at least have them understand them." He smiled softly, placing his hands into his pockets. Despite the unusual circumstances, she interested him.

"Oh my god, I know he thinks I'm crazy now... Agh!" she thought to herself. This situation was just getting worse and worse. Why did Kiokure have to play cupid!? This was all his fault! And he knew it, which is why when she punished him he bit her and tried to run. Though the way this was done was not good! Kiokure shot outwards towards Kasai and something happened that she had no ability to explain whatsoever. Ai watched Kiokure wrap around a plastic... pipe... The pipe fell to the ground and after shouting towards him, she hurried over to Kiokure and picked him up. "Hey... are you okay?" she said to him as she pet the top of his head in concern. "Yeah. Fine, I am." Kiokure replied as he slowly wrapped around Ai's neck, "What happe-..." The two turned towards the reappearing man and stared at him in surprise. Ai tilted her head at him, completely ignoring what he had just said. "You disappeared." she said, stating the obvious, "Oh! Oh, and yeah... I can talk to him. I tried to keep him hidden since not many people can deal with the sight of a snake. They also don't trust in me to keep him calm. I mean... I can't blame them. He is quite poisonous, but I love him and he loves me, so he'd never do anything that would get him taken away from me." Kiokure's eyes could be seen in smile. Though animals didn't usually express themselves, it's been said that they can show how they feel in mimicry of their masters. Obviously he didn't legitimately smile, but like you can see the emotions in a humans eyes, you could see he really did care for Ai as much as she did for him. Kiokure rubbed his little scale covered head against Ai's cheek to show his own affection and Ai could not help but smile at him. "He's my best friend..." Ai said and then looked back to Kasai, "Sorry about that, though. Didn't mean to frighten you."

That was a pretty good explanation, alright. A pet snake, that she carried around with her. If she could talk to animals, it would be even better: and as she confirmed for him, it was definitely something that he could do. He smiled quietly, placing his hands deeper into his pockets and watching even her smallest movements with a well-trained eye. He wasn't sure what would happen next--but he knew that they needed to get out before the snake was noticed. So apparently this snake was poisonous... that wouldn't be a shock. Closing his eyes briefly, Kasai raised his gaze upwards to the ceiling, looking around for any errant video cameras or the like that may give away the snake's position.
"Well anyway, we need to move. Let's get our groceries done and get out of here; I'm pretty sure that they'll notice something strange is occurring eventually." He nodded and reached down, picking up his basket and checking through his mental list one more time. All that was missing, at least to him, were meat and eggs. Suddenly, it came to him: would she be a vegetarian, then? Interesting to think on that. Wandering towards the meat section--hoping that she'd followed--he decided against asking. Instead, he closed his eyes partially, thinking on what meat he'd need to survive the week.
After several meals worth of meat had been loaded onto his basket, he turned his attention to the eggs and placed a tray onto the very top. In the end, the eggs would last him two weeks--so that would help him later. Letting out a long breath of air, the man started wandering towards the counters, hopefully with Ai (and Kiokure) in tow. "I'll start paying for mine; so if you've got anything left you want to get you may want to get it quickly." He laughed softly, hoping that she didn't take his suggestion as an order. He didn't really want to piss off the cute girl with the poisonous snake right now. Not at all.

Well this seemed to be going relatively well, at least in the little black and white snakes mind. While the two talked, he cockily sat there curled around her neck with his own little grin. Frankly, it was slightly adorable for a snake, but that's something only Ai would likely think. Anyways... the two definitely agreed on something. It was time to get out of there. Ai nodded and thought for a minute, "What was that list thing I needed..." She looked in her basket and rummaged through the few items she had. "You mean the white bits you eat? Rike." Kiokure told her. "Haha. It's not rike, it's rice. And yes, thank you." Ai said and quickly grabbed the brand she usually got, this time paying a bit more attention to the price. "This is all I needed, so... I'll follow." Ai told him with a small smile when suddenly it hit her. She realized that she was about to follow this guy around the store? And then leave with him? Why? What was his game? Kasai picked up his basket and wandered towards the meat section of the store. She followed him and looked around rather blankly. Her mind was sort of in it's own little rut, wondering what the hell she was doing and what about this guy interested her so much that she'd actually follow him around! He was probably just tricking her! It had happened before. She foolishly thought someone was her friend only to be betrayed and embarrassed later on. "Would he do that?" she asked herself, sort of nervous about the answer, so she did not bring it up. She stared at him, watching him closely as his put multiple sections of meat into his basket. Once he grabbed his eggs, Ai felt a soft brush on her cheek and looked to Kiokure. "Slide back in until we leave..." she said in normal tone as she tapped the top of his head with her index finger. Kiokure obliged and slithered under her shirt until given permission to leave. "I take it you have all you need?" Ai asked him as she followed him up to the front.
"Nope... I've got all I need right in here." Ai pat the side of the basket as she stepped into the shortest line. She set her things down on the counter and allowed the cashier to ring everything up. Once the total was up, Ai pulled out her money, but realized she was about three dollars short. She looked at everything that was there and could not put any of it back! She needed the food to survive and had already gone extremely cheap when it comes to them anyway! The only other thing there was... feminine items! Obviously she couldn't get rid of them either! Ai's face turned a dark tomato red, "U-um... Is there any sort of store credit? I-I mean... I am... a student... I-It's not like I won't pay you back... And this is stuff that I r-really, really need." The woman at the counter sorrowfully shook her head no. "Oh god..." Ai's face went even redder when she turned to Kasai, "I hate, hate, hate, hate asking you this, b-but... Do you have a couple of dollars I can borrow...? I really need it and I'll pay you back as soon as I can! I swear it!"

Well, this could be problematic for the poor girl. To be even a couple of dollars short at the store could be the difference between your day being good, or your day being bad. Of course, Kasai was too nice to even worry about where the money would go, so the moment she asked him if he could spare a couple of dollars; he immediately handed over the necessary money with a smile. "A few things I got were on special, so I've got a lot spare for once. Go ahead, you have no requirement to pay me back. The money's for groceries, so what's the point of worrying about whose groceries get purchased with it?" He flashed her a kind smile, keeping track of his remaining money as the last of his groceries were bagged: If he recalled, he had about 15 dollars left--he was normally left with 10, so this wasn't a bad haul for once. Nodding to himself, Kasai gripped his bags and started to walk out the door of the store, humming quietly. He would leave the building and turn to the side, walking over to a nearby wall and leaning on it while he waited for Ai to follow.
When she finally came from the front door of the building, he motioned towards her with his right hand. "I need to take my stuff home, and I'm guessing you need to do the same." He pointed in a direction that she would hopefully turn her head towards, "I live in Building 10J, Apartment 4. Not too far from this store, honestly. Probably not as close as Martin's place, but he bothers me. Almost kicked me out because somebody pushed me into a stall. Tch." He sneered at the memory, before smiling again. "If you wanna keep talking, we can either walk and talk or meet up later--your choice. Depends on the direction you need to go, I guess." His smile grew a little, and his pale pink eyes looked at the woman inquisitively.

"You're right, but still. I will pay you back." Ai told him. Well that was surprising. She had honestly not expected him to hand over the money, especially with such a nice smile. Ai smiled back to him and paid for her things. She was slightly embarrassed about having to borrow money from a man she just met, but that was fading quickly. Once everything was taken care of and she made her way outside, she glanced around until she saw him motion to her. She blinked a few times, her bags in hand, as she made her way over to his side. "Thank you so much for helping me." Ai said with a sweet smile before he began speaking. "Yep, I need to get Kiokure back home to let him rest and get the groceries put away." she said with a nod and began making her way in that direction, "Building 10J, huh? I live in the the one next to it, 9J... And are you talking about Jack Martin? I don't like him. He touched my butt one time and banned me from his store when I called him out on it. Of course, he wasn't expecting Kiokure! Little buddy got him good." Ai's eyes narrowed and a smirk came over her face at the memory and she glanced away, shocked at herself for actually telling that little story. It wasn't exactly a big deal, but she didn't usually open up. "I guess since he told me one, it's fine to tell him one as well... We're almost even, now I just have to pay him his money back..." Ai trailed off in thought for a moment before snapping back into reality. She thought about what he was saying, stared at him for a few moments, and blinked a couple of times. "He wants to talk to me again... His wording makes that obvious, but why?" Ai tilted her head to the side, "Might as well take a chance. He does seem nice. He just better not touch my ass..." Ai pushed up a smile after coming to her decision and nodded, "Sure! We're almost there, so once I'm done putting my things away, I'll meet you back outside." Ai glanced forward and noticed her building was coming up, "There we are... You okay with that? Or is there something else you wanted to do? I don't want to bother."

Yup, that sounded like Jack Martin. Asshole extraordinaire. Sighing quietly at the memory, Kasai looked at her and smiled kindly. Oh, so she lived in the building across from him? That was convenient; it was almost as if someone was guiding their hands with a gigantic plot device. "There we are... You okay with that? Or is there something else you wanted to do? I don't want to bother." He nodded. "I have nothing to do all day, and it's not often you actually bump into someone new in the middle of the market; I usually come early and just spend the rest of my day brooding inside my house--so hey, I could use the go-to for a pretty good Sunday." He smiled at the girl and turned away from her, walking into his building and passing by the mailboxes.
No post on Sundays.
He reached the stairs and quickly shifted up them--reaching the top in a time which sprinters would be jealous of. It didn't take him long to put away his groceries, and by the time he had he deduced that Ai would probably have only just gotten back into her room, especially if she were in the next building over. As such, he decided that it would be a good idea to change his clothing--if only to look a little nicer. In fact, he'd probably happily do a pigment change on his hair as well. Walking into his bedroom, he quickly removed his clothes, putting the pants he was looking for on but not finding a shirt. "Oh, right. It's on the balcony line." He opened the door and stepped out, still shirtless. As he turned towards the line, movement caught his eye. He decided, against his better judgement, to look at what it was. Probably not a good idea, because what he saw? Well, it was something of beauty.

"Well alright then. It's a date!" Ai said with a smile until she realized what she said. Her eyes snapped open in shock and then she raised her hands in front of her, cheeks turning red. "No, no! I mean.. Not a date, date... But like.. Agh! You know what I mean!" Ai turned away from him and headed into her building with the most embarrassed feeling she had felt in a while. That was just stupid! Making her way up the stairs, she ignored multiple remarks from a certain pain in the ass serpent and made it to her room. Sighing, she stepped inside and placed all of her groceries on the counter before turning away from them. She first set Kiokure in his cage and then she made her way to her room, stripping and tossing her clothes into the hamper. She looked through her closet for a certain outfit, but couldn't find it. "Kiokure! Do you know where tha-..." Ai began to asked, but was interrupted by him. "In your bag! You never took it out ya know!" Kiokure replied from his cage. "Oh, right..." she thought and hurried out of her room. Currently, she was just wearing her underwear, completely unaware that not only were her curtains open, but a certain young man was in the dorm right across from her and sneaking a peak. Kneeling down next to her suitcases, one's she had still yet unpacked, she rummaged through and pulled out the outfit she was looking for. "Here it is!" she said and tossed it over her shoulder. Turning back towards her room, she began undoing her bra. Right as the bra would drop forward, she made her way into the room where the peeping tom couldn't see! Luckily for him, she was completely unaware. Unfortunately for Kasai though, Ai wasn't the only one in the apartment. A certain snake, who's cage was right next to the window to keep warm, was staring riiiight at him. "Hehehehe, busted!" Kiokure said, though obviously Kasai couldn't hear or understand him. "You say something, Kio?" Ai stepped back out of the room, her hands up and trying to tie her hair up again, while she stood there completely naked. "Oh n-no-... GO BACK AND GET DRESSED!" Kiokure yelled at her, causing her to jump slightly at his sudden outburst. "Okay, okay! Sheesh!" Ai hurried back into her room before coming back out fully dressed and hair done up nicely. "There we go! Alright Kio! Stay warm and I'll be home later tonight. Left the cage open so you can move around, just don't be on the floor when I get back!" Ai told him as she put away her groceries and then hurried happily out the door, excitedly going back to meet Kasai.

Well, this was unexpected. At that point, it was as if time had completely frozen for Kasai Rain. His eyes widened slightly, and he almost wanted to close them out of sheer embarrassment for the woman who could not see him... and yet he just couldn't. Even if she were still semi-clothed, there was something about the soft and fair skin that looked utterly ravishing. Kasai swallowed back a little bit and decided to make his move--just as she walked out of the room, undoing her bra. In most cases, the average person would've stopped there and not gone any further, unfortunately for this, Kasai was both in possession of stealth powers and just a little bit hot-headed. He blinked a couple of times, and decided after a moment's thought that he needed to get a closer look upon this situation. Activating his stealth with a quick release of energy, Kasai found himself completely invisible to any senses that would look for him. He clambered up on his balcony, and made the short jump across between them, landing silently on her own balcony. His face was already slightly red, of course, but it suddenly grew even redder.
Ai walked back into the room, not wearing a single thing. At that point, his eyes couldn't break away from what he saw. It was safe to say that he was entranced by the slender figure that entered through that door. He wasn't sure what had caused it, but his entire body felt hot and his face felt redder than ever. Her skin was flawless, almost completely hair-less--she had even taken care of her lower regions without fail. Kasai felt like he was looking in on something purely intimate, and he couldn't help but continue to stare at what he would call the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. And then she jumped. Ohmygodtheybounced. Taking this as a sign to get the fuck out, Kasai crept back up off of the balcony, and jumped back onto his own. He turned around to ensure that there was nobody to see him, before turning back to his door and opening it--visible once more.
The shirt was grabbed and his clothes were changed quick-smart at that point--Kasai had to think unsexy thoughts for a while, just to make sure that his 'little ninja' was kept down and undercover. "Right. Hair." Although he liked to keep his hair at its usual cyan color, Kasai did often like to change things up. Closing his eyes and concentrating on a color, he felt the usual tingle at the top of his head. When he looked at the mirror, the color had changed from cyan to a rather interesting crimson shade. He sighed softly, slapping his face a little and trying his hardest to forget exactly what he'd just seen, but it wasn't going to go away. Finally, he left his apartment building, turning a corner and walking down towards the alleyway between their buildings. Now to make sure he didn't get flashes... of the flashing.

Ai was humming a cheerful tune as she made her way back outside in her new and absolutely adorable outfit. She had the brightest smile on her face. Sure, she had corrected herself in making her he did not think of it as a date, but that did not mean she couldn't. In fact, she definitely was! How could she not? Never before had she been on a date, so a guy literally had just asked to hang out with her. Sure, he didn't out right say 'go out with me', but a girl can fantasize couldn't she?! Or was that bad? Would he think she was weird if she thought of it in this way? He did say that he didn't have anything else to do today and usually just stayed in his room, so what if he was only doing it to get out for once? What if he was using her to have a little fun? As she was exiting her dorm building, she stopped with her hand on the front door. Great. She was doubting herself and others again. Not many people were nice to her, so why was this guy? Was he going to hurt her like other people did? Was he going to make fun of her? Pick on her? Embarrass and humiliate her? Ai shut her eyes tightly, actually feeling a tinge of fear in her stomach before she took in a deep breath. Oh well. If it happened, she'd just sick Kiokure on him! Yep. And would she give him the antidote? Only if she was caught. She was sick of being messed with, so he better hope he doesn't hurt her! Ai pushed that adorable smile back on her face and pushed the front door open. Looking around, she stepped towards his dorm to see where he was. "Kasai?" she called out his name until her gaze turned down an alley between both of their buildings, "Alright, I'm ready! Are you ready to go? Where did you wanna go, anyways?" Ai waved happily, hurrying over to his side, her small heels clicking on the concrete as she moved towards him. She stopped a few feet from him, placing her hands behind her back and fiddling her fingers around out of nervousness. She did her best to keep a smile on, but it was sorta hard to hide the fact that she was both excited and nervous about the entire thing. "I left Kiokure upstairs so we don't have to worry about any incidents like in the store." Ai told him, referring to the moment that Kiokure pulled them together before.

Don't think about her nudity. Kasai was using the oldest trick in the book to try not to think about this young lady naked as he approached her. Of course, there was more to think about than the fact that he had seen such a pure, fair-skinned beauty in the flesh, because lo and behold... what a sight he came across this time. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, especially not under the light of the mid-morning sun. Kasai placed his hands into his pockets, and closed one eye with a smooth smile. She was weird, he'd admit that in a heartbeat. But then again, so was he. So he didn't really mind that part. She loved animals, and he'd at the very least tolerate them. Chuckling internally, Kasai rolled a question over and over on his tongue, wondering if it would be a smart idea to do such a thing. Usually, he'd be pretty damn against doing that to a woman he'd just met--but he wanted to know her. He was hooked, by more than one line.
Her personality entertained him. Her quirks amused him. Her figure entranced him. Her beauty brought him in for the kill. He was pretty much smitten, and they'd only really walked a little bit. A quick mental jab at himself got rid of those thoughts quick-smart, though. If there was one thing Kasai really didn't need to be doing, it was considering asking her out already. He'd see how this went, and then make a decision when finished. "Alright, I'm ready! Are you ready to go? Where did you wanna go, anyways?" She moved over to his side, and he looked away for a second. With her this close, it was really hard not to see her nude figure. That was not an image he needed to see. When he'd calmed his memory and imagination down, he returned her smile. "I left Kiokure upstairs so we don't have to worry about any incidents like in the store." A chuckle. He honestly didn't mind that situation.
"I don't know, really. Is there anywhere you'd like to take me? I spend most of my time in either classes or my dorm room, so I'm honestly still a bit uneducated to what exactly is around here. I just know that it's a big place, and that the sky," he looked up at that blue sky and beautiful sun, "Is just a fake, made by human hands to keep us happy." At least it felt like a real sun and sky, right? The authenticity of this place was amazing. To think that they were underground.

Ai's smile dropped in confusion and she tilted her head slightly to the side with a concerned look in her eyes when he turned away from her. "Is something wrong?" she asked sweetly, genuinely concerned. She assured him that Kiokure was upstairs so he wouldn't have to worry about the snake. Yes, that was where her mind went. Most people weren't comfortable around a snake. The only person that had ever been comfortable around Kiokure had to kiss her and change her personality to do it, so the worry was valid. He didn't exactly say anything about Kiokure, but he did answer about where he might want to go.. kinda. "I don't know very much either. I wanna go to a zoo, but there isn't a zoo..." she glanced off and pouted a little, her cheeks puffing up a little at the thought. No one ever allowed a zoo. Stupid person who made this place probably didn't even give it a thought. "I've only really been to the park... and this little diner cafe thing. The girl there has a Tiger named Shishima and he was soo cuuute! His fur was soft an-... Oh.. Sorry." Ai blushed a little and rubbed the back of her head, looking off a bit, "Not everyone likes animals like I do and I sorta... I dunno... I just don't shut up about them. Sorry. Why don't we just go for a walk and find something in the busier part of town? Maybe there's something fun... I mean, there should be since they've got to cater to a lot of people, most of them being our age!" Ai stepped closer to him and then froze. The expression on her face suddenly calmed and she stared blankly at him for a few moments. She then glanced downwards, checking him out from head to toe. "You look... hot." she said as her eyes came up to his face again, then glanced over to his hair. Ai reached out towards him and gently took hold of a lock of his hair. She looked quite seriously at it and then her jaw suddenly dropped. "IT CHANGED COLOR!!! OH MY GOD! HOW DID YOU DO THAT SO FAST!? DID YOU DYE IT!?" Ai reached up again and just randomly ran her fingers through his hair on both sides of his head, "And it's soft... I love your hair!" Ai giggled and smiled like an idiot before her eyes suddenly widened and she pulled back away from him. "Oh my.. that was stupid and rude and weird and... oh my gosh I'm sorry!" Ai covered her face and turned away from him, her cheeks turning a deep red color.

Yeah, there wasn't a zoo here. Not that he really enjoyed going to zoos--he liked animals, but he didn't like seeing animals in captivity. Kasai's idea of an animal holiday was a safari. It was definitely one of the things he'd enjoy going to, he just needed to actually gather up the money to get to one before he died. He watched her silently as she continued to speak about the things she'd done here, over and over about some tiger named Shishima. Apparently, she really liked animals. Kasai didn't mind that at all. Honestly, he was pretty tolerant of most things--and he'd already seen her naked, so he really had little choice but to accept a lot of the things that she did and liked. "Why don't we just go for a walk and find something in the busier part of town? Maybe there's something fun... I mean, there should be since they've got to cater to a lot of people, most of them being our age!" He nodded a little, and stepped back closer to her as well--avoiding looking anywhere but her face in order to not bring up certain memories that would plague him in his dreams.
"You look... hot." That came as a bit of a shock. Blinking a couple of times at her sudden outburst, he watched her hand come up to his head and start playing slightly with his hair. A lot of people, if they saw him, were utterly fascinated with the way his hair changed color pretty much every time he was around them. It was partly habit, partly a simple method of getting around potential pursuers. Either way, he enjoyed seeing the reactions to his hair color change... though this one was a lot different. Apparently she really loved his hair. Blinking a couple more times, he placed his hands on his hips and chuckled. "It's not dyed--that's a natural color. And you weren't stupid, most people react in a way like that... even if it isn't with as much gusto as you. Don't worry too much," He chuckled as he quickly changed his hair from red, to cyan, to blond and back to red once more, "It's part of my Qi abilities, as well as the substitution thing I did." He chuckled and started to walk alongside her towards one of the various Academy City shopping centres. This was the Northern shopping centre, as they were in the Northern quarter of the City--with the school in the centre.
As they continued to walk, he started to wonder what she was thinking about their situation. Maybe she thought this to be a date? Was this a date? Kasai's heart skipped a beat slightly. He hadn't actually had many girlfriends in his life. There'd never been time for it, or he'd just hated her personality. It had only been about an hour, but this one's personality was nice enough--and he knew first hand that her body was amazing. Maybe... "So, what would you say if I asked this to be a date?" He tilted his head to the side and looked her in the eye with a kind smile. Better to ask now, especially if she had a boyfriend.

Ai was happy he didn't think she was stupid. Turning back to him, she saw him change his hair color over and over again, so a smile came to her face. "You're like a chameleon! All of the colors are so pretty and each look nice on you!" Ai giggled and placed her hands behind her back as they began walking along. "I have powers as well..." Ai told him, but then realized that was obvious, "Oh, I mean besides just talking to animals. I can bond with them and take on some of their traits." Ai hadn't bonded with any animal yet, which was actually shocking since she had Kiokure. She just didn't feel the need to take her best friends traits. He was with her most of the time, so unless he offered, she would say absolutely nothing about it anyway. Though, she did think it would be cook to be able to grow snakes fangs and poison those that she bites. Hahaha! Just great, another way for her to hurt people who hurt her! There weren't many people who'd agree to allowing her to do something like that. Anyways, moving along! What happened next made Ai blush. It shocked her a little bit, but since she had been thinking of it like a date the entire time she wasn't too shocked. Though, to have a guy actually ask her out like that was... Well, it was pleasantly surprising. "H-Huh?" Ai blinked a few times and looked up to him. His smile brought a blush onto her cheeks. "Y-You'd want... a date... with me?" Ai asked him, obviously stunned at the offer. She turned away from him for a moment, trying to push the blush off. "W-Well... I haven't been on a date before or anything like that... s-so I wouldn't really know... Well.. I mean... I sorta... kinda.. thought this was ... a date... But if you'd out right ask.. I-I'm pretty sure I'd happily say yes." Ai pushed up a bit of confidence and looked back to him with a smile. Her cheeks were hot and red. She was a little shaky, nervous, and her heart was beating rather quickly, but she enjoyed every feeling of it.

Well, that worked out nicer than he had planned. Not only did she accept his transformations, she actually liked them. A small, satisfied smirk breached his face and worked its way out over his lips. Kasai stared quietly at the girl, taking in her features more closely; especially now that she was clothed. She then mentioned that her powers ran further than just talking to animals. When she mentioned the bonding, Kasai's eyes actually widened slightly. That was actually quite an interesting power; one that would be well-done to see in action. He tapped his chin lightly, turning around and smiling softly. Frankly, he liked her a lot already. He wasn't sure if she was girlfriend material, but to see her react in the ways she did was absolutely adorable and made him want to tease her further.
"H-Huh? Y-You'd want... a date... with me?"
Reactions like that.
Chuckling to himself, he turned right back around and looked back into her eyes. He kept his gaze locked with hers for a couple of seconds, stepping forwards within arm's reach and smiling. "Hm?" "W-Well... I haven't been on a date before or anything like that... s-so I wouldn't really know..." He'd been on a few, but this one seemed different. Most dates were just casual get-togethers with cute girls that were all over him half the time. This one was just super-adorable. "Well.. I mean... I sorta... kinda.. thought this was ... a date... But if you'd out right ask.. I-I'm pretty sure I'd happily say yes." Well, how to go about this? Kasai stood there for a second, pretty much having his suspicions confirmed. He considered what to do for a second or so, wondering if he should tell her outright or just wait and let her simmer... no, it was better to get it out of the way now, especially considering what he'd seen. He dashed away the redness on his cheeks:
"Well, Ai. Now that we're properly acquainted, what would you say to going on a date at some point in the future?" He lightly winked one eye and folded his arms, awaiting her answer--even if he knew what she'd say, he wanted to hear her say it properly. The mere thought was adorable.
