Chug chug chug chug chug chug chug chug chug chug...

The lone human's face was down, looking at the floor. As always, he gripped the pole that gave him safety on this massively fast-travelling train with an iron grip, despite the seat that was near to him. He did not allow himself to sit down while riding the train; that was for other people to do, and he would gladly give someone else the ability to be comfortable when he had two legs that could walk and comfortably stand up straight. His hair was down, something rare for the male; it was long and golden, shining in the light of the subway's sides from the dark tunnel they were in, and smelled a hint of... banana?

* *SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* *

Yes, banana. For Len was employed at a health spa, and he took extremely good care of his hair, preferring the smell of banana for its golden hue more then anything else. He was going home from work right now; that was why he was riding the train. His grip on the rod tightened as he heard the familiar SREEEEECH of the subway train car's breaks pressing against the metal below them, so he did not go flying. His gaze looked up then, his other hand laying gently over the tablet that he always kept strapped to his side. He watched as a great multitude of the people in the car, almost every single one of them, poured out at a massive rate. He looked over to see a young lady trying repeatedly to walk forwards towards the exit, but could not proceed from the wall of bodies. The doors closed as a person walked out, and he blinked, focusing on the lady again and seeing that she had not gotten off, leaving just the two of them in the car as he blinked at her, tilting his head slightly, his let down hair moving slightly to the side.

"Erm... Miss... did you just miss your stop...?"

Alexandra was not having a good time. She was stuck below ground with multitudes of people. She was hearing a large amount of unfamiliar sounds and it was making her uncomfortable. The plethora of disgusting smells she was being forced to endure was making her dizzy. She became discombobulated and unbalanced. "Finally!" she thought when she heard her stop was next. Why did she choose to take the subway on such a busy day? A dumb idea! A dumb, dumb, dumb idea! A loud screech came and Alexandra closed her blinded eyes. Her enhanced hearing was making this train stop quite painful for her. And then it was done. The train came to a full stop and the doors opened. She attempted to stand from her seat, but was knocked down by someone. "Watch it, girl!" said a woman. "O-Oh... Sorry!" she said and waved her hand, though her face was towards the floor. She attempted to stand again and was bumped into rather harshly. She lost her balance and fell to the ground. "Ow..." she mumbled and then stood up again. She listened for a moment, trying to get where the door was again. Raising her hands she walked towards the door and was about to step out, but stopped when she heard the door shut. She pulled her hands back to make sure they would not get caught in the door while it was closing.

"...." Alexandra clenched her fist rather tightly in anger. "People are just so fucking rude! Next time I'l-...." She was cut off. What seemed to be the voice of a kind young male came to her ear. She turned her ear closer towards him, listening to his question. She took in a sniff. "Banana...?" she said out loud. "Yeah... I missed my stop. People are just so fucking rude! Can't even let me get off the train without pushing me down!!" Alex kicked the door and said that rather loudly to make sure people around her heard it. She heard the whispers from those around. Of course, they figured their conversations were private. A couple about five feet down called her obnoxious. She turned her head towards where she heard them sitting and stuck her tongue out at them. "Well next time help the blind girl! DON'T JUST SIT THERE AND WATCH HER BE KNOCKED DOWN YOU INCONSIDERATE FUCKS!"

...

Len's head slowly turned towards looking at the couple. They could quite clearly see all the dust that the poor girl had had shifted onto her body from being pushed on the subway floor. The train began moving forwards again as he released the pole, his feet sliding across the floor in a small circle as he suddenly stopped in front of them, grabbing the pole as he looked at the male of the two. "You trying to be a negative crap head?" He asked the guy simply, his right eye twitching. "Your mother must be so proud, insulting a girl who just got pushed over repeatedly out of her own choice." He said simply, his feet sliding as he released the bar again, sliding over to the girl.

"Ayai... Sorry about that. Don't let them get to you, they aren't worth it." He said simply, blinking. He realized she had said that she was blind, which made him slightly worried. "Oh carp.. He said, worried completely now. Yes he did say the actual word "Carp". Len never used vulgar language; it was simply a mental taboo of his. "Is there anything I could help you with then?" He asked her, looking up at the map of where the trains went. "This train ends... the only way to get back over to that stop is through a transferance of two or three different trains... But if you can't see... Are you going to be alright trying to find your way?" He asked her simply, genuinely concerned for the girl. After all, what proper person wouldn't be concerned for another human being who was in dire help when they could provide support?

It seemed to Alexandra that this young guy was coming to her defense. When she was insulted, he moved to insult them back and defend her. At that moment though, the train began moving again. Alexandra reached out for a pole to hold onto, or anything that her hand may find, but found nothing. She began falling back, but was luckily able to catch herself. She quickly reached out and stepped forward until she found a pole. Once she did, she clung to it as if it were going to save her life. A look of anger was plastered on her face, though she was facing the ground. A few tears formed in her eyes. Now she was lost. She had no idea what the next stop was or how to get back home. The guy came back towards her, apologized, and told her not to worry about them. He asked if she could use any of his assistance. "I hate people..." she mumbled in anger, still fuming about what had just happened. For a moment, she had not paid enough attention to this guys' talking to reply to it. "Wait what?" she calmed down and turned her ear towards him, meaning her face was looking away, but her ear was facing him. "You want to help me?" He explained the situation about the next few stops and jumping trains, which only irritated her more. Yep. She was lost. At least there was someone willing to help her. She nodded to him, "I-If you don't mind... I could use a little help... I no longer know where I am... Where is the next stop? I can try to get home on my own... I think..." Alexandra mumbled the last two words very low. For one, she was lying. She had no home. She was literally sleeping in the park near the library every night. And two, there was no way in hell she was going to be able to find her way home. It's not like the streets were paved with braille signs to hep her out.

Len's eyes descended slightly as he heard how she hated people; that saddened him a little bit. He also felt a bit more then a little guilty that he had stopped to tell those people instead of helping her when she began to fall again. As she asked him if he wanted to help her, he nodded his head, but when he looked at her ear quickly felt embarrassed, realizing that he wasn't able to communicate with her that way. "Yes." He said clearly to her, before hearing her say that she would need a little help. "Certainly!" He exclaimed, looking up at the map of the subways again...

And realizing that there wasn't anything he could do for her by telling her. The way the subways worked meant that she had to correctly identify a certain train to be able to get onto it... but she wasn't able to do that because she could not see. She could very easily get onto the wrong train, and be even more lost. Len would feel horrible if that happened; but even if he would never know, he just couldn't let that happen. "I'll accompany you back to your stop." He said with determination, before blinking. "If you want me to, that is..." He realized that she might not want his help; but he wasn't just going to leave her there. "The way the subway works, you'd probably get lost..." He said, as the train came to a massive stop again.

* *SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH...* *

The train squealed once again, and the door opened. No one came out of it this time, but from the map Len could see where they needed to go, quickly having memorized the path she would need to take. Off at this stop. Get onto train D. Ride until stop at Brighton Beach. Get onto train Q. Ride until Hideyoshi Avenue. Get on Train L. Ride until the destination is reached. He said, looking out the door right in front of them, putting his hand over hers when they had come to a stop so they wouldn't go flying, although he did not grip the handle. "You need to get off here." He said simply, as he moved into the space the door occupied, making it so that it couldn't close until she walked through it. If she wanted his help, he would be happy to give it... And honestly, he wasn't even certain he'd be able to leave her like this.

After all, it's not like Len had anyone waiting for him in his small apartment...

"Thanks..." Alexandra replied to him when he agreed to give her his help. He was nice to her. It was refreshing compared to the normal jerks she came across. It was nice to have someone care enough that they take time to help her out. It seemed to be silent for a moment and then the train came to another stop. She was going to move on his say, no sooner. Once he said that this was her stop, she let go of the pole quickly and darted towards the exit as if she were escaping something. She was not going to get caught in there again and be stuck until another stop. The moment she was out, she could tell by her feet touching concrete flooring. "Okay... S-So.... Now what?" she said and waited for him to reply. She hoped he actually did follow her out. There have been times that people would intentionally trick her and act like they cared, only to get her lost or hurt. It had happened a lot in the past few weeks, ever since she was forced out on her own. So, when she stepped out of the train in trust of another, she immediately realized that he might just be playing mean games with her. She turned her head left and right rapidly, waiting to hear him say something. She was a little impatient because she instantly began to panic when she didn't instantly hear an answer. She didn't even really give him time to step out of the train in that case. Otherwise, the small blind girl just stood there and waited for him...

Len watched her dart out extremely quickly, and felt a small amount of pity within her. That must suck to have to rush like that all the time... He thought to himself, watching her as she shot out, beginning to step out after her, having taken her thanks as agreeing to him accompanying her. He heard her ask out loud what they were doing now, and she looked so worried as her head darted about that he just reached out a hand, touching her own to show that he was still there.

"Now we wait for the D train." He said simply, hearing the one behind them release its breaks, and it shot out behind them, the wind being able to be felt from here from its leaving. Len turned around, watching it leave as he stood next to her, seeing the few people still around the area. It was late, after work, after all; most people this far out had already gotten back to their homes. 'This reminds me..." He mumbled to himself as he saw one of the subway performers packing up his instrument and going up the stairs. She doesn't even know what I look like, does she? He wondered to himself, as a train stopped in front of them with its normal loud SCREECH noise.

His hand was right next to hers as he watched it come to a stop, and spoke simply. "That's the C train... the next one is ours." He told her simply, looking at her again. He became slightly self conscious, wondering if she could hear his breathing, and made a visible effort to try to quiet his breaths a little. However, that wouldn't prevent the calm scent of his hair from being increased just a bit from being so close to her; she would definitely be able to smell it if she had a good noes. "There it is..." He said, as the next train came to a stop, watching its doors open as he blinked at her, before wrapping his fingers around her own so she would find the right door, moving through it and placing her hand against one of the poles, putting his own hand above it, panting slightly.

"T-there... we... go... I think..."

Alexandra was relieved when she felt his hand hit hers. Of course, at first it could have been anyone. She stayed tense until she heard his voice speak about the D train. That was when she actually relaxed. "You're still here..." she mumbled and sounded happy when she did. She really wasn't alone out here. She heard him mumble about some sort of reminder and then turned her body to face him. She was staring straight head, having no idea what she was seemingly looking at. "What reminds you?" she asked as another train came to a stop. Alexandra let out a whimper and placed her hands over her ears. Inside the train it was loud, but now under ground with one hell of an echo and the sound trapped in this area... That was almost unbearable. She waited for the sound to stop, some of it seeping through her hands and into her ears still. Once it did stop, she dropped her hands back down to her sides. This guy then explained what train that was. "Ours is next? ... How long will we have to wait? Is it quicker just to get to Karakura Park by walking?" she asked him. It was then that something caught her attention. He was changing his normal pattern. "Why are you doing that?" she asked bluntly, "Every person has their own pattern when talking, breathing, and walking... Don't change your pattern because of me... There will be times that I'll be able to hear the very heart in your chest... That you cannot control." The way Alexandra said that was like she planned on seeing him more often. As if, she figured today would not be the only day they were around each other.

Now the decision was to be made. The D train was coming and about to arrive. Alexandra would have no problem walking if it was faster than the train route. It was all up to this person next to her. He was her guide for the day, so she would follow his lead. She figured it might be nicer than the smelly subway, so... Who knows what he would choose? The train arrived and Alexandra would now await his choice. If he wished to board the train, she would follow. If he wished to walk, she would follow...

PostSubject: Re: A Train Guided by Blinding Willpower! [Closed]   A Train Guided by Blinding Willpower! [Closed] EmptySat Apr 13, 2013 2:43 pm

As he looked at her, he blushed slightly, embarrased. "I-I'm sorry." He said simply, looking down. "It's just that I could see from when the train went by that you have sensitive ears... I got self conscious; I was reminded of my breathing." He explained, breathing out a bit more then normal as his breathing returned to normal. "I didn't think you would be very comfortable with that constantly next to you.." He explained, thinking to himself when she said she could hear the very beats of his heart within his chest. ...I wonder what that must be like? To be able to hear the heartbeat of another...? He wondered, marveling at the gift of hearing that she had. He didn't think about when she said there would be times; he was focused on helping her right now, and there would be time for those thoughts later.

"...Quicker to Karakura Park..." He thought to himself, bringing up the map in his head of where they were. It's a few city blocks away... but it might be. He thought to himself, seeing how she reacted to the train. His brain quickly took in all the conditions of where they were; not considering himself or his property, but thinking about her. The subway had its benefit of speed, yes, but it also reached the stop in a roundabout method, and there were other negative conditions here. "Even if it is a little bit longer... I think you'd be better off if we walked there." He said, stopping as he saw the train approach them, his hand still intertwined around her fingers. "This way." He said simply, guiding her up the stairs, through the metro station, and up the stairs back onto the street.

As they arrived back out, the night was quiet; everyone had gone to bed by this point, as Len's breath against the cool February air became visible to him, and the sound heard to her. "....Karakura Park? If... If you don't mind me asking, why there?" He asked, his bag at his side shifting as he turned to face her, making a small shuffling noise that would indicate his focus being changed towards her as he asked her the question.

"Don't worry about it... I've gotten used to it over the years. It's never really bugged me. I've been this way since birth, so it's something that I am accustom to." she assured him. Moments later, they began speaking of a faster way to get to Karakura Park. She didn't know, so obviously she waited for his reply. It seemed he was thinking pretty hard on it as well. Finally he came up with his answer. He said it would be easier on her, not himself. Interesting... Definitely. He was quite a considerate guy. Yay! Maybe a new friend? Alexandra was happier now and calmed down. "Alright then... Let's go." she said in a happy tone. A moment later, their hands became laced with one another. Alexandra's cheeks turned red. She was blushing. "Why is he doing that...?" she thought as she was guided around. They went up a few stairs and then finally came to the street. She could tell by the calmer smell of smog and electrical lines. Now this was something she recognized a bit, at least the type of surroundings. The city at night, though she would never understand the meaning of night. "It's a little cold..." she mumbled and tightened her hand within his. At that moment, he asked her about the park. Why would she choose there? "It's where I sleep." she told him quite casually, as if there was nothing wrong with it. She knew it wasn't normal, but she'd prefer being there than being in the hospital or back at another orphanage where people didn't want or like her. The park was so much better, quieter, calmer... She wasn't the happiest there, but she wasn't made fun of and insulted. No one was putting chairs in front of where they knew she was walking...

PostSubject: Re: A Train Guided by Blinding Willpower! [Closed]   A Train Guided by Blinding Willpower! [Closed] EmptySat Apr 13, 2013 4:13 pm

"Alright." He replied to her simply, deciding he wouldn't mess up any longer like that. As they reached the night sky, he looked to the side as he had looked at her, realizing he had caused the redness on her cheeks by taking her hand. But she's not trying to make me let go... So I suppose it's alright... I'm only trying to help guide her, after all. He thought to himself, clarifying his current relationship to her mentally.

When he heard her say that it was a little cold, he blinked. He didn't feel that cold out on his face, although he had worn a jacket. "Here then, take this. I don't need it." He said, slipping his hand out of her grip for a moment as he shifted his arms, bringing them in through the sleeves as he pulled off the jacket, throwing it on her from behind as he reached through one of the sleeves, grabbing her hand and guiding it back through the sleeve again so she could find the hole for her to put her arm through, as well as have the other side put up against her so she could easily put it on. "There. Better?" He asked her, smiling... although his smile slightly went down, as he realized she wouldn't even be able to see it.

However, all other thoughts were stalled in his head at what she said. "You sleep... in the park... alone...?" He got out eventually, as he got very quiet. "No." He said very simply, looking up into the sky. "If that's your only option, then I'm going to take you to stay at my place. No one else lives there, and I won't be bothered by it, and it's overall a much better option." He said decisively, thinking very much to himself about it. It was most likely she didn't have any possessions there; after all, the park was a private place. In addition, if she did have something hidden there, then she could get it in the light of day. However, Len was not about to let the person he had decided to help just go and... suffer in the cold in the middle of the night where who knows what could happen to her.

"I'm sorry, I just can't feel right knowing you would have to go through that. My place is also much closer." He said decisively, as he increased his grip around her hand, and took the first step towards where his apartment was; it was much closer then the park, in any case. The only thing to see would be... if she would follow him.

"Here then, take this. I don't need it." A few words that shocked her, especially with the arrival of a jacket on her shoulders. He even helped her put it on her arms. "Weird...." she thought and then spoke aloud, "Um... I appreciate it, but I do know how to put a jacket on. I'd likely be dead by now if I couldn't do something as simple as that." Her statement was followed by a giggle to show that she wasn't meaning to be rude, but merely to inform him. "And yes. That's much better. Thank you." she nodded and smiled. Her explanation of where she slept and why she chose the park upset him. She was immediately able to tell. "Yeah... I do. It's okay." she said, but the next thing she heard from him upset her. "No". is what he said. Then he went on to tell her she was going to stay at his place. Alexandra's eyes widened. "Wh-What?!" she said in shock, "I can't do that! Where would I sleep? I-.. .I mean... You're a guy! I didn't think that was allowed.. I..." He went on to apologize and explain himself, but Alexandra was still unsure of whether she should. She felt his hand grip tighten and then gave in. "A-Alright... I guess... If only for one night." she said as he stepped forward. She instantly followed him, making sure to stick close until they would arrive at his place. "Can I ask you something?" she said and tightened her own hand on his, "What's your name? I... don't feel comfortable staying at your place if I don't even know your name... And where are we? Are we still in Karakura?" It should have been obvious by the tone of her voice that she was nervous about what she was about to do. She knew it would be better to stay indoors. From what she could feel in the air, it might even rain that night...

"I realize... but I thought it would be more difficult for you to find the arm holes since you weren't putting it on yourself." He explained, looking away slightly, realizing it wasn't something he had needed to do. "You're welcome." He told her back, giving her a genuine smile. "You would sleep on the bed, obviously." He told her without pause. "I''ll take off my blankets and pillow and you can use the spares I have in my room, and I'll take those and sleep in the bathroom." He explained to her, having thought it all out in his head rather quickly.

"And besides..." He said softly, as he began to walk with her. "If that's where you were staying... You can't be attending school. I don't attend school either, I have a job. That's why I was on the subway. I'm an orphan." He explained, breathing out as she agreed to it and the two of them began walking towards it. "Hmm? My name?" He replied, blinking. "I'm Moryukuna Len, no last name. Most people just call me Len though." He told her, before talking back to her. "And what's your name, mysterious dark haired lady?" He asked back, his tone slightly joking, but well intended. "Yeah, we're still in Karakura; We're a few blocks away from the park." He explained, as the two of them reached the outside of the apartment complex. "We're outside the building now." He explained, as he guided her hand through the door, feeling the increased grip and feeling glad that she returned the motion.

"We're entering the elevator." He said as he took the step with her into the elevator, just the two of them as he hit the button. "Oh, there's something else. Are you hungry?" He asked as the elevator ascended. "I've not had dinner yet and it'd be rude to eat without asking my guest first." He explained, as at last the elevator went DING, and the two walked into the apartment complex hallway.

"I understand. It's fine." she said with a nice tone when it came to the jacket. Although it was something she did not normally do, when Alexandra heard the strange suggestion that this guy gave. "O-O-On the floor?! Are you crazy!? You can't sleep on the bathroom floor! You sleep on your own bed and I'll sleep on the couch... Why would I take up someone elses bed? It's easier just to cover the couch is spare sheets instead of unmaking a bed, just to re-make it, and then unmake and remake it the next morning... NO! No arguing. The couch is mine." Alexandra was quite 'final' in her statements. She wasn't going to argue about it and made sure that her tone told him not to try. It seemed to work for the moment, since he went on to talk about school, work, and him being an orphan. "Wait... Orphan?" she repeated his last word and then continued letting him speak. "So, Moryukuna isn't a last name?" she asked him for confirmation. "My name... is Alexandra, but people usually call me Alex..." she said in answer to his question. Alex's questions were all answered and they finally arrived at his apartment building. When he announced it, she nodded and smiled, but was still nervous. Len continued to guide her through until they came to his place, even making sure to inform her when they entered the elevator. "You haven't eaten? I um... Well, make sure you do. I'm okay though." she said as they stepped out into the apartment hallway.

...

Len was silent, and at first decided to just open the door to his apartment and allow her to see for herself; however, he quickly realized the flaw in his plan, and spoke aloud. "I-I... don't have a couch..." He explained simply, as the door opened, revealing how all he had was the bathroom on one end of the room, and the miniature refrigerator, microwave, television, and other accessories in the other room. The bathroom was the only other room he had. "We're in the apartment now... I don't make that much." He explained simply. "I have two rooms, the bedroom and kitchen, and the bathroom... The door for which is to your left." He explained, walking over to the bed before sitting down on it, sighing.

"I'm sorry..." He said simply, before getting up, opening up the minifridge. "The only thing you might trip on is the bed... or the toilet if you go in the bathroom." He spoke simply. Yes, it was a double bed, but he wasn't sure if he was comfortable with it being used for more then one person the way things were. He quickly pulled out a microwavable pizza from the minifridge, putting it in the oven. She would likely be able to distinguish it from the smell. Then he pulled out a banana, quickly followed by a can of soda. "Are you sure? Would you like a banana? A drink?' He asked her, sitting down on the floor by the table. "Oh... I forgot, the table's also on the floor. It's one of those old timey tables." He explained, putting his feet over the warm blanket that was a part of it. If she was careful, she wouldn't trip on it, and it was away from the main little path that went from the door to the bed, which was also low to the ground but still very comfortable.

"So yeah... This is the place I call home..."

"Oh well then. I'll sleep on the floor." she said immediately to his informing her of his lack of a couch. Alexandra did her best to memorize his explanation of the houses layout, but would likely have to figure most of it out on her own. He wasn't being too descriptive, but that was fine. Asking him to do otherwise would make her feel inadequate, making him do something out of his normal just because she was blind. He moved away from her and sat down from what she could tell. She heard him apologize and immediately replied with "For what?" She heard him stand again and blinked her blind eyes. She was confused by what he was doing. "I'll be okay... I won't trip too much once I get the room in my head. Just please... don't put things in front of me when I walk..." Obviously she was speaking from experience. That was something that happened to her a lot. She heard a bit of moving around and then what sounded like the opening of something metal. "I'm... fine." she said as she slowly stepped straight forward, "I'm really not hungry at the moment. I've never really eaten too much anyway..." She wasn't sure what she was stepping towards, but she merely hoped that she wouldn't break anything. As she stepped forward, her toe hit the end of a table. "Ow..." she mumbled. It was then that Len remembered to explain it. "Found it!" she said, trying to hide her embarrassment by speaking in a joking manner. She moved until she found the bed and made sure he wasn't in the way. She sat down and heard him call this place home. "It's nice to have a place like this... I'm happy for you!" she told him. She could tell by some of the things that he said, that he wasn't exactly proud of it, but she figured he should be. He was lucky to have it.

"...No." He said simply, blinking at her. "I am the host, I will sleep on the floor!" He said determinedly, before his featuers softened. "...For my house not being what it should be to have a guest over... I'm just not used to having anyone else to talk to..." He explained, knowing that he would have had been able to have better accommodations if he had known that he was going to have company. "...I... I would never!" He exclaimed, his tone disgusted by the prospect of himself committing such an act. "What kind of a sick, lowly human being would..." He trailed off, looking over at her. "...Miss Alex... or... Alex, do you mind if I call you that...? I don't mean to pry, but... what kind of an environment did you inhabit for that to have happened?" He asked her, wanting to know for himself why she sounded outright used to this deplorable thing occurring.

He flinched as he heard her mutter softly in pain, realizing that he had screwed up. He looked down at her words, and he couldn't help but feel a little happy as well. "Y-yeah... It's more then a lot of people have... It's warm here, and safe... The table has a blanket underneath it which feels great when you've been out in the cold, would you care to join me?" He asked her, looking up and taking a small bite out of the banana.

"Why would you be the one to give up your own bed!?" she asked him, "Being the host means nothing when the stuff belongs to you! It's not fair that I come in to your home and take up space, so why must I kick you out of your bed as well?" When Alex asked him what he was sorry for, his explanation made her tilt her head again. "Um... I doubt you were planning on running into a random blind girl and asking her to spend the night... And if you were, that' creepy as hell." Then, when she asked him not to put things in front of her, his reaction made her giggle. He actually sounded disgusted just by the thought. She wondered what he would have done to those that actually did it to her. "Just Alex..." she told him and then let him continue. His question required her to tell him that she too was an orphan. It was awkward to find someone that she automatically had that much in common with. That is why she hesitated at first, but now that he has asked she wasn't going to lie to him about it. With how nice he had been to her, that would have been in horrible taste. She fiddled with her fingers a bit and then sighed. "I am also an orphan... Things like that happened a lot in the orphanage." It was then that she sat down after hitting her toe off the table. She then complimented his home and he seemed to cheer up. "Good." she thought to herself as he spoke. "Join you? In what?" she asked, unsure of what he meant. She figured it had something to do with the blanket, but was completely confused about what to do with it, so she just sat still.

"I would give up my own bed because I wouldn't even be able to sleep in it knowing my guest was on the crappy floor of a place she didn't even know!" He informed her, not yielding an inch on the matter. He was going to take the spot on the floor and he WAS GOING TO LIKE IT. "...And as for taking up space... It's not like you are taking up anyone else's space..." He said softly, referring to the fact that space was a non-issue because of the fact that he lived alone. "You're right, I wasn't. But this is the first time I've met as special a person as the blind girl." He said simply, referring obviously to the other traits then just her blindness, like her unwillingness to just TAKE THE DARN BED.

He was glad that she allowed him to call her by her nickname. When she said what she did then, he was given pause for a moment, blinking. ...Could she have been there as well...? No... we didn't have any blind children at our orphanage... He thought to himself, blinking. "That explains... almost too much." He said, somewhat sadly. "Yeah, there are extremely, extremely disgusting human beings in orphanages." He said simply, but with an edge in his voice; feeling, remembrance of his experiences. "But... a good person who comes out of one of those hellholes... Is an extremely strong person. Or I believe so, anyway." He explained to her, as without warning the microwave suddenly went BEEP, BEEP.

"There's the microwave, on the wall to the left of the main path into the room." He told her, getting up from where he was sitting and taking out the extremely good smelling pizza, setting it on the table as he sat down again. "Like this!" He exclaimed mischeviously, throwing his right foot out as his toe pressed against her leg, a flurry of blankets moving as he moved his feet back in. "You move up to the table and can place your legs underneath of it while you are sitting. It's very comfortable." He explained, moving into his own spot on the other side of it as he cut a piece of the pizza, bringing it up to his mouth and eating it. "There's more then enough room."

Alex stayed quiet for that moment. His heart rate changed, his breathing shifted, his muscles contracted, and all done so in manners that she had memorized as 'stubbornness' and 'determination'. He really wasn't going to allow her to just sleep on the floor. "Fine." she said in an irritated tone. He had won their little battle, though. He should be happy, or at least satisfied with the outcome. Alex was quiet for a bit, even through his compliment in calling her a special girl. That actually made her smile, though special can be taken in a few ways. She understood what he meant by it. It was kind. The conversation moved on and the cruelty of those at orphanages must have been common. He said he had witnessed some of it as well. "Just kids trying to make themselves feel better... even if through torturing another..." she said quietly, but loud enough for him to hear her. It was something she was used to, even if she hated it. His next statements implied that he thought she was a good person. More compliments. This, she wasn't used to. Suddenly a loud beep echoed through the room without warning, causing her to jump. It startled her a bit, but only because she wasn't expecting it at all. He went to get his pizza and then explained to her about the blanket. She knew it might offend him a little bit, but she shook her head. "No thanks... I'm warm enough." she told him. He may be a nice guy, but they had just met. "So what now?" she asked, wondering what they were going to do until they went to bed.

He smiled, glad that he had won, his summoned determination leaving him as he relaxed once again. He saw her smiling... And that made him feel great inside. He loved to make other people happy. He understood the boundaries of compliments very well, but nevertheless when they worked it was the greatest thing in the world to see. As she spoke about kids, he looked down, the expression on his face changing once again. "Yeah... Bullies.. So what if I enjoy how my hair is..." He mumbled, extremely quietly, not really meaning for her to hear.

"Oh, alright then. You just seemed rather cold earlier." He explained simply, feeling kind of small as he drew his legs up, feeling them press against the top of the table with his knees. He blinked as she asked him what now, looking up at her again. He honestly had no idea what to do now, as his breathing calmed down, thinking. "Well... What do you like to do?" He asked her, blinking at her across the table as he took another bite out of his pizza, feeling a little self conscious again. "Do you... have anywhere that you can go after tonight? Have you got... anything for yourself....? What led to you planning to sleep in the park, if you don't mind me asking?" He asked her, honest concern in his tone. His mind was already racing, thinking to himself. He had plenty of care products from his work, as he looked back to the bathroom. "Oh... If you would like to get washed up, that's no problem... I have plenty of care products of all kind from my work."

"Now that I am in the house, it's fine." she told him. She asked him what they were going to do and his breathing changed, calming down. As he took a bite of pizza and asked what she would want to do, she shrugged. "I don't know. It's your home. You choose." she said. The subject was quickly changed and he asked her a few questions, including what led to her sleeping in the park. She shook her head to the first question and tilted her head at the second. "Well... There was a fire." she said casually, "I was asleep. It spread really fast and the orphanage burnt down. I got out okay though, as you can see." After she explained that, she waited for his reaction and then was told about the bathroom and freshening up. "I actually wouldn't mind a bath..." she told him, "But I don't exactly have anything to change into, so I'd end up in my dirty clothes again. Sorta makes the entire point of the shower void... Hahaha." Alexandra was quiet for a moment. It was awkward. She had no idea what to say to someone that she just met and ended up going home with. It was then that something came to her mind. "Um... How old are you, Len?" she asked, the first time she used his name, "If you don't mind me asking, and calling you that..." She herself was actually sorta young, so... thinking about the fact that he had his own place and a job, she assumed he was a bit older. She only hoped he wasn't like fifty and sound sixteen. Apparently... People can do that now.

"A fire...? He parroted, listening to what she said. "Thank god..." He breathed out, relaxing again, though he understood how horrible that was. "Erm..." He squirmed slightly, taking another bite and finishing the piece of pizza in his hands, looking back to her. "I have some t-shirts and comfortable sweats... You could take a shower while I wash your clothes and use those until they are done, possibly..." He proposed, before she asked him how old he was.

"I'm... not sure. I'm at least sixteen... I'm not older then eighteen... though you could probably tell from my voice..."]He said, looking a bit to the side. He knew very well that he had an extremely young sounding voice, like a singer, but it wasn't something he was very comfortable with. "And you could feel my hand earlier... My fingers aren't big enough to be much older then that." He spoke, realizing there was a way he could verify his age to her. "Len is fine, just fine." He commented, smiling back at her. "I'm about full anyway... don't seem to have much appetite this evening." He explained, as he got up again, picking the pizza box off of the table and turning around, the whirr of the fridge going off again as he opened it up, putting the box inside. "There is a dresser to your left, the second drawer has those kinds of shirts and pants within it... If you would like. You can just put your dirty things out of the door, and I'll wash them for you." He explained, hoping she would be able to identify which one was a shirt. "I'll go get it ready for you while you find something." He explained, as he opened the bathroom door, walking inside.

He quickly got out the necessary materials, putting them in the shower before walking out again. "To get to the bathroom, just go from the dresser there to the wall to where I am, then turn to your right and walk straight forwards. The handle is on the left side. With the shower, there is a curtain around the tub. There is a faucet, and above the faucet is the hot/cold bar. The further left you go the hotter it gets. It starts out cold. To use the shower, pull up on the little plug on top of the faucet."He explained, blinking. "Oh, the distance between the door and the bathtub is a few feet." He explained, standing in front of the door. "I can leave the door open if you would like a checkpoint?" He asked her, and would leave the door open or closed based on her reply. He hoped she would be able to handle everything alright in there by herself...

"I guess that would be alright..." she said and then became quieter, "Do you.... think you can get the water ready for me?" That was embarrassing, asking a guy to get the water ready. She didn't want to burn herself, but she also didn't want to sit there for a long time testing the temperature. After she got his answer, she asked him about his age and he replied. "You don't know? I'm fifteen..." Alexandra told him and then came up with a brilliant idea, "Let's say your seventeen! Right in the middle and it makes it where you're not that much older than me!" Alexandra had the location of the dresser explained to her and stood up. She went over to it and opened up one of the drawers, not paying attention to which one it was. She reached in and grabbed what felt like a pair of shorts and a shirt. "Is this okay?" Alex asked as she unknowingly held up a pair of boxers, after tossing the obvious shirt over her shoulder. After that, she moved to where he explained and made her way into the bathroom. She didn't hesitate at all. She grabbed her shirt and pulled it off of her, tossing it to the side. The door was wide open, and for all she knew or cared, Len was right there. "It doesn't matter to me..." she said in reply of the offer to close the door, "You can keep it open if that would be better." Alex then dropped her pants and kicked them off to the side, moving to do the same to her bra, and underwear. Obviously, she wasn't exactly shy. She had never had to be self-conscious about her body, and wasn't going to start now. Truthfully, it wasn't something she ever thought about, so she had no problem with what she was doing. Once she was nude and the water was ready, she would slowly move towards the shower, using her hand as a guide. She found the shower and stepped inside, beginning to bathe herself with whatever soap she was able to find.

"Alright, that's fine." He said, as he got to the shower curtain, opening it and reaching inside, turning the water on. He watched as the water fell down into the bath, the heat of the bath increasing. He put his hand in, feeling it to be a bit more then lukewarm. "There... Seventeen? That works." He said simply, looking over at her. "Erm... Those work, but I don't think you'd like wearing my... boxers. Not that I mind, just that I think I put them in the wrong drawer by accident. Sorry." He explained, reaching in and getting a proper pair of pants, putting that over her shoulder as well. He paused as she suddenly took her shirt off, the backside of her top becoming clear to him as he suddenly felt a great amount of red on his face.

He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable, however, and he thought she'd probably feel safer if she knew someone was watching over her, so he rapidly moved his head around as he saw her grip her bottoms, his blush an enormously deep red, his heart beating fast in his chest as he tried to calm down, most likely not able to be heard over the shower. "The soap is on the left in bar form... in liquid form in the bottle next to that. On the right side is the shampoo. You can change the temperature if you need to." He explained, turning his head around again as he heard her get into the shower, relieved at last as he turned around again. ...She's very beautiful... He thought to himself, thinking it an absolute shame that she wouldn't ever be able to see her own beauty for what it was.... as he turned around and as she hadn't placed the shower curtain back, was exposed to the site of her nude form. ......His entire body exploded with the feeling of social convention, but then it stopped, as his entire form relaxed again. If she doesn't mind, then why should I? He thought to himself, biting the bottom of his lip in determination. If this is what she's comfortable with, then I'll go with it... as well as I can... He thought, still feeling a bit weak in the knees as he resolved to look towards the ground. Unless she was still facing his direction, he would only see one part of her that normally he wasn't, but if she was then he would be fully exposed, most likely leading him to staring at the ground with a massive amount of force.

"Now..." He muttered to himself as he moved back into the bathroom, his heart pounding a bit faster again as he picked up the clothes. ......A girl has never so much as given me the time of day before, much less felt this comfortable in my presence... He thought as he scooped them up, opening the closet on the other side of the room, opening it up to reveal a washer and drier, putting the dirty clothes in there. Guess I might as well. He thought to himself, as he pulled his own clothing off down to his boxers, placing them in as well as he breathed out.

He put the right soap in, and allowed them to begin their cycle, as he sat down outside the bathroom. "I'm sitting down outside the bathroom door." He said, loud enough for her to hear him but not enough to disturb the other inhabitants of the apartment complex. "...Were you born blind?" He asked her, having wondered himself.
