"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."
Basics
Name: Tony Redgrave Alias: "Dante" Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Languages Spoken: English, Japanese, some Russian. Orientation: Straight True Age: 419 years old D.O.B: October 31st, 1680 Zodiac: Scorpio Blood Type: O Negative Spouse: N/A Father: "Sparda", mass-murderer/serial killer. (Deceased) Mother: "Eva" (Presumed Dead) Siblings: Long-Lost twin brother, unknown to Dante. (Presumed Dead) Children: None
Personality:
From an early age, Dante has been incredibly flippant, casually mouthing off to even the most powerful of opponents, generally enjoying rubbing people the wrong way. He has matured as time has gone on, but he has never really lost his attitude. Dante is sometimes presented as a show off as, on several occasions, he performs exaggerated and over-the-top moves just to impress those around him. Dante is seemingly unflappable, not showing fear in the face of any danger, even potentially lethal danger. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but he still maintains a fairly laid-back demeanor during such situations and is never without a witty taunt or comeback. Dante can seem at times to be uncaring or even callous, but actually has a very strong sense of justice and prefers to fight fairly. He can be counted on to do the right thing, even if he makes cynical quips about it the entire time. Though Dante is quoted as believing that "Humans are often worse than Arrancar", he refuses to kill full-blooded humans for any reason. Dante values family and friends very highly. He cared deeply for his mother and, despite their differences, he also cared for his father.
Dante also enjoys fighting, shown when he sometimes doesn't fight at his full potential so he can toy with his opponent or make a fight last longer. Dante gets bored with fighting weak opponents and finds entertainment in fighting strong opponents who will give him a challenge. Dante is very anti-social, rebellious and laid back. Living on the periphery of society and caught between two worlds, he feels like an outcast. Young and angry, but with a quick wit and black humor, he is disaffected and disassociated with society, and quite apathetic. He has no fear, and no respect for authority, particularly not the arrancar authority that runs the world in which he lives. He has no qualms with engaging in debauchery and other hedonistic acts, mostly because he believes he won't be around for too much longer. However, Dante has a huge heart beneath all of this rough exterior. He purposely chose to live out his life his own way because his eyes were opened to evil as a child. He decided to take a stand and fight back, no matter what happens. But even after all of the hatred, violence and murder, Dante would often look at himself and see if he could call himself human, going so far as to rip his skin open to see his own heart.
He just knew that he had to convince himself he wasn't insane.
General Appearance
Appearance:
Appearance Age: Mid-20s Mask Fragment: Dante's mask fragments all hang on various chains around his neck, more of accessories to him now than anything else. Hollow Hole: Dante's hollow hole is on his stomach, located where his naval would be otherwise. Height: 6' (183 cm) Weight: 225 lbs.
Natural Abilities
Unreleased Abilities:
Adept Combatant: He is incredibly proficient with any type of weapon, displaying near-mastery of them within moments of picking them up. He is also quite skilled in unarmed combat, managing to disarm and subdue powerful opponents bare-handed; his hand-to-hand combat skills are also displayed by his usage of gauntlet-style weapons.
Master Marksman: Dante's skill with firearms is impeccable. He has displayed enough accuracy to hit targets as small as the pommel of his sword; shoot his opponents' bullets out of mid-air; and hit the same target over and over with such unerring precision that his bullets stack on top of each other.
Super-human Strength: He has the strength to punch through and/or shatter stone with little difficulty, and often overpowers opponents much larger than himself. Even when he was human, Dante has been seen snapping handcuffs and effortlessly overpowering human authorities as well as street thugs with his bare hands. Dante's display of superhuman strength indicates that his physical condition is much tougher than that of usual arrancar, allowing him to exert his enhanced muscle power to vast proportions without fear of injury or fatigue until his upper limits. He can wield broadswords one-handed with ease, overpower large opponents and even put them into strangleholds. He can shatter solid steel with his bare hands, and use his sword-whip to latch onto and toss a car across large distances
Zanpakutō Appearance:
Dante's zanpakuto is a bluish, silver-colored claymore. The blade is long and double-edged, with the forward-facing edge curving outward to form the guard. When it is used to attack, it leaves a white streak behind in its wake.
Spoiler:
Other Weapons:
Dante carries a pair of semi-automatic pistols; one silver, Ivory, and one black, Ebony, with curved grips, and engraved actions resembling the Desert Eagle's. The pistols leech small amounts of Dante's spiritual energy, along with any residual spiritual energy in the air, to form its bullets, firing as fast and for as long as Dante needs, without the need to reload. However, they only fire as long as Dante has spiritual energy to spare. If he is weakened, or drained, they tend not to work. While they lack strength (each bullet amounting up to less than a bala in strength), Dante's ability to pull the triggers with inhuman speed as well as his enhanced dexterity make them versatile weapons for any range and orientation.
When initially entering Resurreccion, Dante's appearance only changes slightly, his hair bleaching white being the main change.
However, the more he uses the abilities, the less humanoid he appears to be, slowly morphing into a more animalistic version of himself.
Spoiler:
Resurrección Abilities:
Enhanced Speed and Agility: Dante is blindingly fast, able to dash a short distance to dodge attacks, dodge bullets fired at close-range, and move so fast that he appears to teleport. He is extremely agile as well; able to jump to great heights or even balance himself on a flying rocket, as well as run up vertical walls. In addition, his agility allows him to perform amazing feats of acrobatics that easily surpass even the finest human acrobat.
High Resistance to Heat: Dante is extremely resistant to heat, being shown to block fire-based attacks at heats up to 700 Farenheit without much more than a burnt coat.
Flight: In this form, Dante can leap into the air and sprout two angel-like wings from his back, allowing him to fly around the battlefield.
Inhuman Durability and Regeneration: Dante's durability has been shown to allow him to simply shrug off wounds that would either disable or outright kill a normal Arrancar, such as being impaled through the chest with his own sword, struck by opponents with superhuman strength, or being shot point-blank in the head and stomach. This is partially due to a slow-regeneration that takes place while he's in this form. Nearly any wound that doesn't sever part of his body from another part of his body can be healed instantly. Severed limbs take much longer, but still can be healed. However, he cannot heal from decapitation or other severances of his brain activity from the rest of his body.
Low Levels of Telekinetic Activity: Dante has been shown to be able to manipulate certain objects with his mind. Such as catching a motorcycle in mid-air with his mind before shooting the driver, or splaying his hand to summon his Zanpakuto from wherever it may have landed or been placed.
Devil Trigger: "Devil Trigger" is what Dante refers to as his "trump card". In resureccion, and ONLY in resureccion, his zanpakuto's spiritual presence fluctuates, the individual "pieces" of it each vibrating at high speeds. The reason for this is that Dante has the ability to change his weapon's form at will, switching it between different weapons that each enhance a different part of Dante's physical statistics. He only has a set list of weapons he can cycle through, however, any given weapon can be changed from any other weapon instantaneously, with no delay in between, including his pistols, which in themselves also have augmented strength in this form.
Osiris:
Osiris is a large scythe with a light blue hue to it. The blade is long and curved, coming off the tip of the snaith at its heel. The snaith itself looks to be made out of wood, and it has two grips protruding from opposite ends that resemble whittled branches. Dante uses these handles to help him spin the weapon while he attacks. The pommel on the bottom of the snaith is the same as the grip of his Rebellion, owing to the weapon's shape-shifting ability. When it is used to attack, it leaves behind a light blue streak in its wake, similar to the color of the weapon.
Osiris' combat style revolves largely around fast, lethally-aimed attacks, and the weapon itself enhances Dante's speed considerably. His Sonido while holding Osiris has been recorded at speeds up to Mach 4.
Spoiler:
Aquila: Aquila resembles a pair of large, three-pointed cyclone blades with curved edges, held in each hand. Like the Osiris, they have a light blue tint. This is one of the few weapons that holds little resemblance to the Rebellion. The Aquila weapons are spun in the hands, and thrown around while releasing blue waves of energy when used, attacking enemies from a safe distance.
While wielding the Aquila, Dante gains an "eagle eye" of sorts, able to bend the field of time directly around his person and in his vision to allow himself to read muscle movements and attacks, and more easily dodge and deflect, while also planning his next attack, all of which appearing to happen at normal speed, as this change in time affects only his own person.
Spoiler:
Ophion: Ophion is a pair of whips that Dante wields to great effect. The right, or "demon", whip, resembles a grappling hook made from a black chain-like cord with a red, claw-shaped head, which is connected to a spool near the grip. The left, or "angel", whip, resembles a white chain with a snake-like head coming out of the grip, complete with a jaw that clasps onto targets. Ophion's primary use is as a tool for movement in both combat and environment traversal. The whips are durable and fast, able to grab, whip around, and deflect enemy projectiles to an extent, as well as being able to pull himself toward enemies.
While using the whip, Dante's hand-eye coordination and agility are enhanced considerably, allowing him to move his body in almost impossible ways as he maneuvers his whips around eachother and himself as he blocks, dodges, and attacks, allowing his movements to be more fluid and versatile.
Spoiler:
Arbiter: Arbiter is an over-sized battleaxe with a red-and-black color scheme. The red blade is large and curves over some of the shaft as many bearded axes do. The grip is the same his Rebellion, owing to the weapon's shape-shifting quality. When it is used to attack, it leaves behind a dark red streak in its wake, and an eruption of red and orange sparks as it hits the ground. Arbiter is a powerful weapon. It is far slower than Dante's normal weapons, but packs enough punch to crack even some of the hardest hierro. It doesn't have nearly as many attack options, and is well-suited for combat on the ground. What attacks it does have are usually enough to keep enemies at bay with the shockwaves it can produce. Arbiter is extremely difficult to use against fast opponents unless they are stunned, and is risky to use when surrounded, as its attacks leave Dante wide-open for extended periods.
While wielding Arbiter, Dante's strength increases greatly, his heavy swings carrying earth-shattering blows that are a good idea to avoid, lest you wish for your bones to be atomized.
Spoiler:
Eryx: The Eryx gauntlets glow a demonic red. They look like disproportionately swollen metal fists or large boxing gloves. At the forearms, the weapon resembles the grip of Dante's zanpakuto, with its spiral engravings, owing to the weapon's shape-shifting quality. When in use, the Eryx leave behind a fiery trail and a small explosion upon impact, and is accompanied by large spectral fists when attacking. Slower than his normal weapons, but faster than Arbiter, Eryx is an effective close-quarters weapon. It's nowhere near as long-ranged as Dante's other weapons, but it can be quite powerful. All of Eryx's punches can be imbued with Dante's spiritual energy to gain more damage and knockback.
While not as physically-enhancing as other weapons, the Eryx adds a large, cero-like, fiery explosion to every one of Dante's punches, that includes not only both gauntlets, but the two spectral fists that he controls, linked to each gauntlet, as well.

Past & Roleplay Sample
Character Background:
Warning: Incredibly rushed, insomnia-induced, and coffee-assisted history ahead. Read at your own risk.
Spoiler:
The year is 1680. French sovereignty over Elzas has been accepted, the first recorded Tornado has taken its first victim in the United States, and a child unlike any other has been born.
The young Tony, at the time, was nothing exceptional. A healthy baby, albeit one with a temper, Tony's parents had pride and joy in their littlest, and most important, creation. But there was one small issue.
Tony wasn't safe.
What would one expect? His father, alone in the world as he saw it, racked up a bodycount that was unheard of in those days, pillaging shipments of crops and other livestock from Europe to the Americas. The price on his head was high enough to warrant even a king's attention, but he had evaded capture at every turn. He didn't choose this life, but he was stuck with it, and his wife, Eva, wasn't happy in the slightest. Eventually, they managed to find solace in a temple of the rogue demon Sparda, for whom Tony's farther was named. It was there that they had their child. Tony couldn't possibly have known how many people would've given a fortune for his death, even in infancy.
Sparda knew the cost of his child's existence, as did Eva, and together they made the decision to hide the child, venturing into the frozen wastelands of Siberia, safely delivering Tony to a childcare facility in Magadan, Russia. It was there that the young child truly started his journey.
In his earliest years, Tony was one of the most.. difficult children that occupied the childcare facility. From his toddler years into his pre-teens, he was always starting fights, abusing those around him, challenging peers and teachers alike to competitions he knew they couldn't win. And it wasn't his skill, either. Many suspected him of being on steroids, when in reality he was simply born in a state of natural strength. Noone knew where it came from, but it gave him a leg up on anyone who crossed him, even in the pettiest ways.
When Tony reached his teenage years, he was declared unfit for care, as he was too old for their facility. They set him up with some bedding, a date to be at a factory nearby, and some good wishes from the staff, and sent him on his way, happy to see the troublemaker finally walking into the distance.
Tony had no plans to attend the interview that had been scheduled, however, setting out across the Siberian wilderness in an attempt to get to Europe, to try and find his parents.
But he never made it, Tony died, frozen, in the Siberian wasteland.
His soul remained, however, stuck to the mortal realm in his desperate attempt at finding Eva and Sparda. His terrible luck, it seemed, would not leave him, as instead of his parents, it was a Hollow that he finally found, ending his short life on earth, and sending him into the realm of the hollows.
The realm of Hueco Mundo.
It was here that his evolution began. It was here that his powers would grow. It was here that his many masks, literal and metaphorical, would finally fall away.
It was here that he'd become an Espada.
