Personality: The first and most important thing that anyone needs to know about Reimu is the fact that she is and will always be a Shrine Maiden. Coming down from a long line of Shrine Maidens, Reimu is quite proud and devoted to the duties cast upon her by her family. Though some times she can admit that they get in the way of her social life, she understands how important they are and enjoys doing them. She's proud to be part of the Hakurei Legacy, as she calls it, and does her best not to dishonor or disappoint anyone. Beyond her duties as a Shrine Maiden, Reimu is a normal teenage girl. She enjoys hanging out with friends, going to school for the social aspect, and likes being lazy when she gets the chance to do so. When she does get a chance to take off the hakama and haori that is traditional to most Miko, she goes out and hangs with her friends in the city. She has grown a liking for karaoke bars, arcades, and the mall. Though she's not exactly into shopping around for clothes, she can definitely hang out in the food court and checking out the small carts while walking along. Reimu doesn't exactly enjoy going to school. She's horrible in math, enjoys reading, writing, and history, and science bores her horribly. She thinks about ditching most days, but chooses not to because of one thing that everyone enjoys; lunch. When she gets a chance to be lazy and has nothing to go do in the city, she'll be caught lounging around the house and watching TV.

Because of the concentration on her duties, though, Reimu has often been told she works too much and needs to just sit back and have some fun. The fact is, she doesn't know how to. She has fun every now and then, but she's unsure of how she is going to "act like a normal girl" when all she wants to do is rid the world of Hollows and allow those who have died to pass on. Another thing to be noted, she constantly tells her friends that she is working or taking care of her Mother. She feels that they might make fun of her or think her way too weird if they realized their friend goes out and hunts monsters that they are unable to see every night. One thing Reimu wants in her life at this point, is to find a friend around her age that understands what it is like to have powers, that can see what she sees, and that she can open up to. The worst feeling in the world for her is feeling alone, and even though she has friends, she is always feeling alone.

Character Background: Reimu was born into the Hakurei family, who have been known for generations about having female members of their family quite in tune with the spiritual. Reimu is currently the youngest of all of her family, and considered the most blessed. She was born to her loving Mother Miko, who was named just that because of her being a Shrine Maiden. Reimu's Father died when she was three, so she was forced to grow up without him. She and her Mother have always been extremely close. She loves her Mother more than anything. Her Mother always tells her to be herself and everything would be great. Her Mother has always been supportive, loving, and kind to everyone, especially Reimu. Unfortunately, three years ago something happened that Reimu will never, ever forget. Her Mother got sick. No Doctor was able to help her, and the one she thought that might was on vacation. One night, out of pure panic, Reimu did something that she keeps a secret to this day. Her Mother was on the very brink of death and she could tell. The months before that, Reimu had been practicing and came up with a Sutra that would do something to save her Mother. She called it "Preservation", which is exactly what it was. She tested it on foods for a long time and waited until she perfected it. Now, her Mother was dying and she felt this was the only way to save her. Walking down the halls of her home, she heard her Mother coughing. She knew what was coming up; blood. It was always blood now. Her Mother had gotten too weak and this 'thing' was eating her from the inside out. She made it to her Mother's room, brushed back her Mother's hair and kissed her forehead. Her Mother began apologizing over and over again, crying, feeling guilty for putting her daughter though all of this. Suddenly she began coughing more, them getting rougher and rougher until she could no longer breath. Reimu laid her Mother on her back.

"I-I'm... sorry, Mother." she said before she took a deep breath and placed a Preservation Sutra on her Mother's head. Everything about her Mother froze. Her body was like rock. She was a statue, but she was alive. She was no longer suffering, and that was the only thing that made Reimu feel better. Picking her Mother up, she took her down into the basement and placed her in a beautiful casket she had made for this. It felt wrong treating her Mother like this, but she knew of nothing else that could help. She placed the casket up, leaned it against a wall, and readied quite a few more Sutra. First was the binding Sutra, so her Mother's body couldn't fall forward. She attached the Sutra to her Mother and to the inside of the casket to make sure that'd happen. Then, she closed the casket. After that, she placed five sealing Sutra no top of each other, so not one person would be able to touch this casket without being blasted back into a wall. After that, she placed 10 barrier Sutra on it, so if anyone tried to get to the casket, they'd have to some how get through the barrier. Fortunately, the Sutra do not have the effect used against the person who attached them in the first place, so she was okay. Something about doing this felt so wrong, but so right. Her mother was alive, so she could accept that. Before walking out of the basement, she placed a final Sealing Sutra on the barrier Sutra, so they  person who tried to remove them wouldn't be able to. All of this made her feel so much better. Now, she leaves the basement and decides to go on with her life, doing her best to not only keep up with her duties, but to travel around and find someone that has the ability to cure her Mother.


Natural Abilities:

Reimu has trained to fight Hollow for her entire life, so she's naturally got some skill behind her. Her body is quite toned, athletic, and she is quick on her feet. She's got a decent amount of training in Karate and Taekwondo, though her skill is nothing to gloat about. She is able to keep up with most people she comes across, but besides everything under her actual abilities, there is nothing to special about Reimu at all... Yet.

Abilities: Reimu was certainly blessed on the power aspect. Being a Shrine Maiden, there are certain things expected of you. Some of these things have to do with cleansing spirits and destroying 'demons'. Fortunately for Reimu, she was blessed with powers that allow her to do just that. Reimu has abilities that go from her being able to 'cleanse' and 'purify' hollows to her being able to open the gate to allow spirits to pass into the Soul Society. Yes, this does mean she has her own version of Konso, though it is preformed differently.

Seisui: (精粋 Purity) This is what allows Reimu to do everything she does. Her energy, though it is Qi based, is very different than most people. Her Qi is completely pure. Because of this, it has very strong effects on hollows, Vizards, and Arrancar. It also has very strong effects on any other races who's intentions are riddled with evil. Any spirit or person who has chosen "the dark side" of life, will feel the effects of her energy quite harshly because it is the exactly opposite. It is pure, good, and clean. It can't interact with beings that are otherwise.

Heiwa: (平和 Peace) Within it's meaning, this is Reimu's Konso-like ability. It is a small ritual where she places her hand on the spirits chest, concentrates her own energy through them, and then opens a portal below them. The portal merely looks like the ground around them is shimmering like ripples in the water. After she mutters a short phrase, "I release you", the gate fully opens and sends them through to the Soul Society in the same manner that they would be sent if a Shinigami did it. "Watashi wa anata o kaihō shimasu." is what she will say when sending a spirit off to the Soul Society.

Namari Nemu: (鉛睡 Seal) Because of how powerful her energy is, she knows that she cannot just allow it to leak out at all. Just being next to a bully at school can cause them to feel sick, which is not something she wants, so she uses this seal on her at all times and is forced to release it before battle. Sealing it is easy, and when it is sealed she is completely powerless. She can't be sensed through energy at all. The only power that does stay while the seal is activated is the ability to see spiritual beings, nothing more. To deactivate the seal, Reimu must release her power once again by saying "Hanatsu". When this is done, her energy will suddenly burst out at a rapid rate. Her energy is constantly being held in, so the moment it's released it reacts like this. It only happens for a second, but the energy can easily be felt quite strongly by those who can sense energy at all. If someone is close to her (within 20 ft) when this goes off, it is possible for them to be blown back or pushed. If they are of hollow origin, they will likely be burned.

Shinsei Kyōten: (神聖 経典 Sacred Sutra) These are pieces of paper that Reimu has blessed. They each have a different word or symbol on them, each causing some effect. Some can be offensive, some healing, some neutral, and some can be defensive. They're used in very many ways and can only be used by Reimu herself. Unless it is stated otherwise, to use any of the Sutra below, Reimu merely throws it at them and the effect is applied if they are successfully hit. If that is not the case, then the Sutra merely needs to be placed on the target for the effect to be applied. Certain Sutra's stick to objects by using the spiritual energy put into them to do so. All effects of the Sutra are increased by 50% to those of Hollow Origin; Hollow, Vizards, Arrancar. All effects of these Sutra as well have the ability to be increased in strength in accordance to how many Sutra are placed on top of one another.

- Stunning Sutra: This Sutra sends a wave of high powered electricity though the target.
- Burning Sutra: This Sutra causes whatever it has hit to catch on fire.
- Sealing Sutra: This Sutra prevents an object from being touched, opened, or used. Placing two on top of each other prevents them from being removed by anyone that is not Reimu.
- Binding Sutra: This Sutra completely freezes the person, animal, or object in place.
- Shielding Sutra: This Sutra is a barrier. Reimu places it between her fingers and then holds it out in front of her body. The activation is pretty much instant and prevents a single attack from hitting her. The barrier stays up until the attack ceases.
- Barrier Sutra: This Sutra erects a barrier to prevent anything from passing through the object it is attached to.
- Conservation Sutra: This Sutra freezes the target in time, conserving it until it is later removed.
