Personality: Amelia is a very normal girl. She doesn't ever seem to have anything special happen to her. She rarely goes out with her friends and is almost always on the computer typing away at random things. She always has this 'bored' or 'dull expression on her face that makes her seem just as uninterested as she is uninteresting. She carries her headphones and laptop everywhere, clinging to them as if they were all she had. Though she has talents in cooking and singing, it's practically unknown by anyone but her parents. She isn't a secretive girl, she just rarely gets asked about herself and has a 'don't ask, don't tell' attitude about it. She'll ask others question when and only when she is actually interested in them or the situation at hand. Amelia is kind at heart, but her demeanor always seems to push people away because she just frankly doesn't act very sociable. The only thing people can really note about her is the fact that she is on her laptop 90% of the time, has earphones on 75% of the time, and is quiet 50% of the time. Beyond that little bit of information, Amelia is what you would call a genius! Her mind works at an non-literal mile a minute to gather and collect information. It's always been like this. It's just lucky for her that it hasn't driven her insane and that she truly does enjoy it. It's the main reason why she's always on the computer. She's not always playing games or in chat rooms, not always... A lot of the time she's stumbling upon articles and going through random events and new information posted. She'll find entertaining jokes, little humorous comics, and random studies and news reports on different things. Instead of games, she looks through articles about history, literature, and writing, usually avoiding the tedious and annoying subject of math. Even though she understands it, it's a subject she finds does not suit her likes or needs and chooses to pass it by when she doesn't feel she needs a referesher course.

It's pretty hard to get her to turn her head away from the computer screen. In fact, she spends so much time on it that she has learned to navigate through hallways and traffic without having to look up and types at 170 words per minute with a single hand. It is an understatement when one says that you have to really catch her attention to snap her out of her daze, most suggestions being take her laptop away or block the screen. And then the question comes, do you really have the guts to do that to her? There are some that actually fear the day that a person has the guts to do that because of how attached she seems to be to that laptop. Taking away the thing that someone loves isn't always the smartest idea, but people still wonder what would happen. The thing is, if it did happen, she'd likely blink a few times and quite nicely ask for it back. If they refused, she'd get saddened and ask as nicely as she could again. She's not a mean person, she's not violent, she's not rude. She's very kind hearted and sensitive towards others. If someone wanted her attention bad enough to take her laptop away, she'd probably get it back and then give them the attention that they so desperately wanted from her in the first place. It's not like she's one to start a fight. She prefers things to be peaceful, calm, and not to be bothered by anyone.

Character Background: Amelia was born out of wedlock and wasn't told who her Father was until she reached the age of nine. Though she always wondered why he wanted no part of her life, she wasn't the type to go prying. Instead she lived her life without one and tried her best to be happy, even though like every other young girl, she truly did want a Father in her life. Two years later, her Mother married a seemingly nice man who had another child of his own. One day the child was being stupid and climbing a tree in the back yard. He slipped and fell from a high branch, landing on his head and dying on impact. Her new Father blamed her for this since she was the only one at home at the time. Over time, things began to grow dark. While her Mother was at work and her Father was not, he'd treat her horribly. He insulted her, never let her speak, and told her to stay in her room where he wouldn't have to see her 'ugly face'. Through out three years, she became very recluse and stayed in her room. Rarely did the young woman even get dressed, excluding when she went to school. Her mother noticed the change in behavior and hoped it was just a phase she was going through, but after Amelia turned fourteen she realized she was mistaken. Amelia's Father became a little more than drunk and got a little to physical with Amelia. He grabbed her wrist and attempted to pull her along, but she did as a smart girl would do and kicked him harshly in the groin. Before she got a chance to run, he charged her and violently pushed her down the stairs, knocking her out. Luckily, her Mother had felt something was wrong with her daughter and came home early to catch what was about to happen. It was only a minute or two later where Amelia was still knocked out and laying on the couch and her Father was sitting over her. Her Mother did not hesitate to take a metal cane from the closet and very harshly slam it over the man's head. Not only was he knocked out, but there was a gash on his head that caused severe bleeding that would have killed him if the police had not arrived on time.

It was extremely hard for both Amelia and her Mother to even speak about the disgusting act that almost took place that night, but the two were able to get over it together. Thanks to her Mother's intuition and closeness to her little girl, Amelia's innocence was spared. Though a few habits from those years aren't ones that she is easily able to surpass. For instance, Amelia is always on the computer. It was her sanctuary through those few years of torture, so it has stayed that way. Upon that, she doesn't exactly enjoy wearing clothes in her own house. She is quite often caught in her bra and panties without and feels absolutely no shame of it. Though it was slightly uncomfortable for her mother, especially when she'd answer the door for a package or guests and did not even care whether she was dressed or not, but after some time she became used to it. Finally, Amelia was going to be entering High School, but not just any. She was signing up for Hephaestus Academy, the one school that allowed students with unnatural abilities to gather together to study and advance their skills. She was shocked when she was told that she was going to get a certain amount of money through out her time staying there so she could survive like a normal adult, at least that's how she felt about it. Adults didn't come to stay with you and you literally got your own small apartment, how were you not surviving like you were an adult? School was you going to work. You literally got paid for it! It was perfect! Her first year went pretty much like every year in school before that. There was nothing special, she only made decent acquaintance, no real friends. It was too be expected. No one seemed to have the guts to come up and talk to her. Oh well. She continues spending time on her computer and moves along with her life. She's aced every single class she has taken so far and is regarded in the top five of all students. Now... for her third year at the Academy to once again not make any friends or gain any powers, or so she assumes...


Natural Abilities:

Note: Because they're not 'big' abilities, I'm not going to describe them too much.

• Genius Intelligence; ability to gather and save large amounts of information, ability to observe a situation and decide the best route quickly, and the ability that allows her to solve problems accurately and quickly. Over time she has gathered enough information that has allowed her to get the title genius. To collect more, all she has to do is read about it or experiment, most likely read.
  
• Surprisingly Athletic; most assume because she's always on the computer that she's your cliche geek and doesn't do very many sports, but that's a lie. She's a great running and plays tennis every now and then. She's quite fit and keeps herself in shape for that 8% she's not on the computer or sleeping.
  
• Musically Inclined; she's gifted with a natural singing voice that would be classified under soprano. Since childhood she has practiced the flute, it being the only thing she enjoys beyond the computer.
  
• 170wpm with one hand; being on the computer so much and constantly typing, this should be obvious. She has trained herself to walk around with laptop in hand, so she's also typing while walking.
