| Normal Human Template Basics Name: Kahoko Otani True Age: 16 Appearance Age: -- Gender: Female Height: 5'3” Weight: 125 Appearance: Personality: Kahoko has a hard time getting along with people because she naturally pushes them away. She has a problem getting to know others because of this underlying fear of abandonment. When she was just a little girl, her Mother and Father separated. She was placed in the custody of her Mother and her Father vanished. Though she loves her Mother, she was always closest to her Father, so once he up and left her behind she developed abandonment issues that stick with her to this day. Though she wants to make friends and it actually is easy for her, she still fears the idea of getting close to someone and one day they leave her behind. She unintentionally makes it obvious that she's trying to push someone away as well. She wants to make friends and wants to be close to someone, but because of her fear she consciously makes the decision to turn away from them. She also realizes another thing about herself that causes her to push people away even more. If she does begin feeling close to someone, she has a tendency to let her fear slowly take control over her as time passes. For instance, she'll realize she's getting close to someone and doesn't want to lose a friend. To prevent loss, she'll do what she can to show them that she cares; buy them out, physical affection, reoccurring contact. This all depends on what the person wants as well. If she chooses to buy someone out, she sees the person as materialistic and worth spending money on. If she chooses the physical affection route, she'll do a lot of hugging and anything above that step depending on how close she is to them and their gender. She's straight, so no female is getting any lip lock or sex from her. The 'reoccurring contact' route pretty much means she'll do what she can to hang out with them as much as possible. She'll invite them out and pay for everything to get them to come with her. Of course, with all of this there comes problems. The two main problems that come with this is how easily she can be taken advantage of and used. Some people notice her willingness to go 'above and beyond the call of duty' to be around them. And when some people notice this, they end up using it to their advantage and take from her constantly. Kahoko is a person who 'gives till it hurts', so she won't even notice it until she's at her breaking point. Another problem that comes along with her not wanting to lose people is that she may end up coming off obsessive to some people. If she feels like she's losing someone, she won't back off. In fact, she'll try harder and push for more and more time with them. She buy more and more, or become more physical in order to keep them around. This obviously causes people to just pull away from her even more, which causes her to try more. Because she's actually a kind person, some people have a hard time just telling her to back off, so she ends up pushing them completely out of her life. When this does happen, Kahoko becomes extremely depressed and puts up this wall that is hard to break down at first, but once it's weakened in any way, it's easy to demolish. Another thing about Kahoko is her the way she deals with stress. She holds everything in, rarely telling people about her problems. And this is very, very bad. Kahoko's mental state effects her body probably about fifty times worse than most people. If she starts feelings stressed, hurt, or a little more upset than normal, Kahoko can easily pull herself into having very bad panic attacks. Some of these get bad enough that her body starts convulsing, or she'll break out into a sweat, and if it's a sudden shock she can black out and faint. Character Background: Before the Divorce everything in Kahoko's life was normal and happy. She didn't even see the problems her parents were having because she was just so young and when she was around they loved her enough to hide their hurting. She was literally the only thing keeping the two of them together, and she realizes that now, but back then she did not. One day her Mother came to her and explained that her Father was leaving and he was not going to be able to come back. She was only a little girl, so she felt it was her fault. She felt like she did something wrong. When she got the chance, which was that same night, she cried, pleaded, and begged for her Father to stay, but he merely kissed the top of her head, said he loved her, and walked out. It destroyed her. She began developing serious trust and abandonment issues that her Mother took way too long to realize. Through five years of her life, her Mother was constantly overworking herself and doing a lot of overtime to take care of the two of them, but Kahoko was young and did not realize this. Kahoko started freaking out and having panic attacks any time she came home and her Mother wasn't there. When her Mother finally came home, she'd cry and beg her not to leave. Over time, when this kept repeating, she began getting into screaming fights with her Mother over why she was never around. She accused her Mother of secretly wanting to leave and abandon her 'just like Dad did'. This lasted until she hit thirteen years of age and realized how much this was affecting her Mother. She began slowly trying to control her fear and learned to calm herself down and hold everything in. Unfortunately for both of them, holding things in was making it worse. Kahoko began secretly having extremely dangerous and harmful panic attacks that almost seemed similar to seizures. One day, she ended up passing out and not waking up. When her Mother found her, she rushed her to the hospital. Kahoko woke up two weeks later with her Mother sitting by her side. After everything was explained, Kahoko was lectured on how she needed to keep her stress level to a minimum. Her Mother begged her to stop keeping everything to herself and even said that if screaming and yelling made her feel better then to do it! Kahoko was brought to tears when she realized how much her Mother cared about her. She had been so frightened of her Mother up and leaving like her Father did that she didn't think about everything that her Mother had been doing just to keep them happy. With this realization, Kahoko's panic attacks began to subside and she was able to act and feel normal. The problem only resurfaced when she got her first boyfriend the last couple of months of Middle School. They had gotten close, but she noticed that he began pulling away, so she starting becoming a little more clingy than he liked. Soon, he began avoiding her and she was forced to literally corner him to figure out what was going on. She didn't understand that he just wanted some space and ended up pushing him to breaking up with her right then and there. "You know if you had just told me you wanted your space I would have left you alone!!" she screamed at him in tears. People were stupid that way. Instead of just talking to someone about what was bugging them, they'd avoid, ignore, and end up hurting the person more than they would have if they just got the courage to speak their minds. Now, Kahoko was single again and pushed into a depressing at the thought of losing someone that she was close to. Because of what he had told her friends, they all began avoiding her as well. It was just lucky that by the time she noticed it High School was here and she was going to a different school than many of them, so she didn't have the time to really pay too much attention to what they were doing and how they were treating her. After starting High School though, she stayed away from people to avoid what she had felt in Middle School. She ended up making it a hobby to stick around the library and hang out at the arcade while her Mother was at work. Beyond that, her life is pretty normal at the moment...
