Basics

Name: Aiyako Aizawa
Nicknames: Aiya
True Age: 18
Appearance Age: 18
Gender: Female
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120

Appearance:

Aiyako Aizawa [Approved 4-5] 8_zpsacd45ce6

Personality: Aiyako is pretty much the opposite of her younger sister. She's one of those quiet and shy people. She is one of those who would sit in a corner and keep to herself while everyone is having fun. Even with her being shy, she is very sweet to people and quite gentle in nature. She's never loud or obnoxious, hardly gets hyper, and is not very outgoing at all. She always has a hard time talking to people or initiating conversations with those she doesn't know. If the person is a friend, or someone she has talked to before, talking to them comes a lot easier. Aiyako has a hard time making friends because people usually have to try to talk to her first, then she'll ease up and talk to them. The only time this is different is when she is working. When she is working, she forces herself to put on a brave face and interact with customers for the sake of her job. And even when her job is on the line, she easily gets embarrassed because she is so unsure of how to talk to people like her sister does. She feels so insecure, she is almost always blushing, especially when in clothes that reveal her stomach. Aiyako also has a tendency to be extremely clumsy, often dropping things and tripping over her own feet. Her clumsiness also comes with the fact that she is easily frightened and startled by people that she's around, all of that coming from the fact that she doesn't enjoy being around big crowds. Aiyako doesn't enjoy very much physical contact, so she won't hug or shake someones hand. The likelihood of someone actually getting a kiss out of her is extremely low as well. One thing that really bothers her is when people try to mess with her hair. It's a real bother for her. She can't stand people messing with her hair. The only one she can slightly accept is her sister, but will get mad at anyone else who tries to do it.

Aiyako likes it when things are neat. She hates unorganized and dirty. At times, she can be caught cleaning her sisters room for her, even though it's really not that dirty. She has been told that she has obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) many times, but has never actually had a Doctor of any kind tell her such. Unlike her sister, outdoor activities are not her bread and butter. She doesn't like being out side in the heat or doing things that would likely cause her to sweat a lot. She can handle a bit, but a lot will make her feel uncomfortable and dirty. Aiyako does have a love for sweets. She enjoys baking cookies, cakes, and other deserts to eat. Her sister criticizes her for it and tells her she is going to get fat if she doesn't watch it. Comments like that do hurt her feelings, but even when she does eat a lot, she never seems to gain a pound. Aiyako also likes singing, but is too frightened to get on stage and actually show off the voice she has, which is actually pretty damn beautiful. Aiyako can't swim, she can't ride a bike, she doesn't know how to skate, won't go camping, hates hiking, and dislikes pretty much any other activity that requires her to be outside for a prolonged period of time. Although her sister calls her lazy, her reasons are quite simple. Allergies and fears. Aiyako is allergic to grass, pollen, cats, bee stings, and chlorine. Some of these allergies are worse than others, for example, Aiyako hugging a cat would have her in the shower, on allergy medicine, with red eyes and a puffed up face. Chlorine would cause a rash and make her itch, luckily that is about it. A bee sting would have her in the hospital, while pollen and grass just make her sneeze and eyes itch. Her fears include heights, the dark, and dogs of any size. Though, when she is not cooking, at work, and is home alone, she takes her time creating her own worlds through her art. Aiyako is a wonderful artist, painting and drawing being the main two she concentrates on, though she has been known to take a pottery class every now and then.

Aiyako has a very interesting relationship with her younger sister. In her sisters mind, Aiyako constantly outshines her and makes her feel worthless, untalented, and unattractive in comparison. Aiyako realized this when they were early teenagers. Miyako put herself into a competition with Aiyako that she did not want. Aiyako adores her little sister. She loves her dearly and finds her to be an amazing person. She's proud of all of her sisters accomplishments, but dislikes the way Miyako treats her. For one, if Aiyako says something that Miyako doesn't like, Miyako will retort in a manner that seems like she is trying to embarrass Aiyako or make her feel stupid. When Aiyako enjoys the things she bakes, most of the time being sweets, Miyako will tell her she needs to stop and that she is getting fat, intentionally hurting Aiyako's feelings in the process. Because of this, Aiyako doesn't push to improve at really anything anymore. Aiyako was the first one to start dancing, Miyako came and took over to intentionally outshine her, so she shrugged it off and moved on with her life. When she started singing, Miyako came and did the same exact thing, so once again Aiyako shrugged it off and let her sister have the spot light since that was really what she felt Miyako wanted. Of course, Aiyako didn't really care because she wasn't a person who enjoyed the spotlight in the first place. And no matter what, she always treats her sister nicely, has her back, and helps her when it really counts. Even with their strange relationship, Miyako has proven to Aiyako that being sisters comes first and they she has her back, so Aiyako feels she will always do the same.

Character Background:

Aiyako was born on June 30th and into a family that was quite well off. Her mother was a elementary school teacher, and her father was the head manager of three different branches of a single construction company. For the first two years of her life, Aiyako was her parents pride and joy. She was extremely intelligent, picking up on things very quickly. By the time she was two years old, she was already walking, talking, knew the alphabet, and was reading minor sentences. Unfortunately, she was almost always alone. Her parents were very strict and sheltered her a lot. She was never allowed out side, but at her age that didn't matter too much. And then something happened. She thought her Mommy had just gotten a little fat, but she soon found out that a baby was growing in there, her little sister. The day after her second birthday, on July 1st, her youngest sister Miyako was born. Her parents told her that she was going to be a big sister and that she was going to have to make sure her little sister knew right from wrong. At that age, she wasn't completely understanding of the subject, but some time passed and she figured it out. She ended up being the one to help her sister learn to walk and talk, even if she was only three years old. A couple of years passed, and the two of them were supposed to be starting school, but for some reason never did. After a while, they realized that they were constantly going to be home-schooled, never allowed to leave the house. Aiyako watched her parents have a fence built around their home and felt safer. Being so sheltered, Aiyako was slightly frightened of what it was like beyond that fence. Though, at the same time, she never thought about it, never wondered, never asked questions, and never attempted to leave their home. She trusted in the judgement of her Mother and Father, and went along with their overly strict rules, completely ignorant to the realities beyond that fence. She spent most of her youth reading, cooking, and painting. She wanted to be outside with her younger sister, but her allergies would always get the better of her and prevent her from participating in any outdoor activities.

Around the age of thirteen, Aiyako discovered she and her sister had a talent in singing. Her parents praised her for it, but not Miyako. They told her to practice, and even hired some outside help to teach her how to control and project her voice in the manner of a professional. It seemed they had a bigger liking for her voice and not her younger sisters. Once her lessons were done, she stopped singing, let Miyako take the rest of the lessons, and she went back to her paintings. Her parents told her they wished for her to find another hobby, one that didn't have her stuck in her room every day staring at a canvas. So, Aiyako began to cook and bake, mainly baking. She developed a sweet tooth and ended up baking every single day for everyone in the house. Whether she was baking a cake, a caserole, or cookies, she was always found in the kitchen. Unfortunately, she noticed that everything she was cooking was causing her little sister to gain a lot of weight, which was shocking because of how active Miyako was. Because of that, Aiyako had her parents buy her a healthy recipe book and began concentrating on making delicious meals that would prevent her sister from gaining weight. It was embarrassing for Miyako, but within six months, the change in diet had Miyako right back down to her normal size and Aiyako made sure to teach her what to eat, and what not to eat. Through this time, Aiyako noticed a negative attitude that Miyako was developing towards her. Miyako began glaring, mumbling mean things under her breath, and becoming very annoyed with Aiyako. Aiyako didn't understand why this was happening, and when she went to talk to Miyako about it, Miyako just shrugged it off and acting like it was nothing to be worried about. Aiyako took her sisters word for it and moved on, but the attitude did not stop. Soon, she became wary of everything she did, constantly feeling like she was walking on egg shells that she dare not break. When she got the chance, she snuck into Miyako's room and read her diary, something that she never, ever, ever would have done if she weren't desperate. She found out that her sister felt highly insecure next to her. Miyako was feeling left out, useless, talentless, ugly, and like she wasn't worth anyone's time. This broke Aiyako's heart, especially when she read the line, "...and it's all Aiyako's fault."

Aiyako never let Miyako know that she had read her diary and began to back off of a few things. For one, Miyako had started singing for their parents and was being praised for it, so she decided that singing was something she wasn't going to do unless in private. She actually ended up enjoying the lack of attention and had more time for herself. She was even able to go back to painting and concentrating on her arts. Another instance was when Aiyako would eat sweets, something she loved, and Miyako would come to her saying "You're going to get fat if you don't watch it, Aiya! You keep eating all of this stuff and your super-metabolism is going to die on you!" Aiyako was not going to stop eating sweets though. She just let that one slide. It's not like Miyako could or would eat them anyway. Around the age of fifteen, Miyako thirteen, Miyako decided she wanted to learn to dance and their parents told them both to learn, even though Aiyako was obviously not interested. She and Miyako started dancing at the same time, their parents once again hiring someone to teach them how. And once again, their parents praised Aiyako for her skill and ignored Miyako. That was the final straw. She took her parents to another room and yelled at them both, actually getting loud and angry, which was not her personality at all. She told them they needed to stop treating Miyako like she wasn't there and realize that they had two daughters, not one. She made it very clear that she was tired of them trying to push her into the spotlight when she didn't even wanted it. She told them that she only wanted to paint, draw, and cook. Neither of them believed, or cared to believe, what Aiyako was telling them and went with the usual "We love both of our children equally" line. Luckily, Miyako heard the conversation that they had and when Aiyako returned to her room, Miyako thanked her. At the ages of seventeen and fifteen, their parents were told that they had to allow the girls to go to high school, not just sit back and be home-schooled, mainly because people were wondering whether the girls were getting the correct educations. So, that year, they took a test and both of them scored higher than the above average students of the high schools. Having been out of their home for the first time, Miyako decided she wanted it to stay that way and convinced her parents to allow her to go to school. Aiyako and Miyako both attended their first year in school and became quite popular, though Aiyako was at the age where she only needed on year left. She graduated at the age of seventeen and a half, and ended up getting a job, while her sister is still going to school.

Natural Abilities

Natural Abilities:

Active Qi: Although she has not discovered her powers yet, Aiyako does have a pretty large amount of energy that is sort of just stored away until she finally discovers her powers. She does need enough energy to literally change the makeup of any paint brush she touches, create a portal to and hold up an entirely new world. Her powers have not shown up just yet because she is just barely developing the amount of energy that would allow her to do such a thing.

Qi Abilities

Type: Jìnéng (Internal)
Appearance change: None
Abilities:

Portal Paintings: Aiyako has the ability to turn her paintings into a portal to another world or realm, and luckily for her, nothing she creates affect her allergies.  The painting must be large enough for her to be able to get through. On the other side, the world is literally what she made it to be. Any regular paintbrushes, she can turn into her magical paintbrushes. Her paintbrushes are as white as snow and usually have an elegant design. They need no actual paints to paint with because the color is automatically created from Aiyako's imagination. If they are not in her hands, break, or are damaged, they turn back into the normal art tools that they were before, so no one else is able to use them. As she begins creating her artwork, the tool begins to glow very brightly. Then, on whatever canvas she chooses, like a wave of color, the artwork that she has in mind just begins to appear like that of a professional. Once the artwork is where she wants it to be, she can walk straight through it and actually be in it like it is her own world. She can even create houses, animals, and people within her paintings. To get rid of a portal, she just takes one of her brushes and uses it to erase the painting. Since it's all done with her imagination, she just has to imagine the portal gone, and it will be so.

Portal Paintings She Already Has:

Portal Paintings: World Of The Living: Aiyako's paintings don't just take her to her own worlds and realms. She can create portal paintings that send her to areas within her own city or other parts of the World Of The Living. If she imagines a store a few blocks down the street, she can paint it and be brought there when she walks through. She now keeps a painting of Anseijima on a canvas in her room. It insures that she is never late and can even sleep in a lot longer than most of the workers. Any portal that leads her to another part of her own realm, unlike the others where she creates her own world, they do not have a return portal, so she doesn't have to worry about people finding it and walking into her room. She will have to worry about people who watch her walk out of random walls though.

WOTL Portal Paintings She Has: Karakura High School, Anseijima Resort

Portal Paintings: Items: This is a really fun part for Aiyako. If she wants something she can literally just paint it, reach in, and grab it. For instance, if she wants a new dress, she can paint it on any wall, canvas, or flat surface. Once it's painted, she reaches in and is able to grab and pull it out. The items area one hundred percent real as well. They aren't made of paint. If she wants a cat, some food, a snack, a car, practically anything... She just paints it on a wall and pulls it out. For larger items like a car, she merely walks in to the painting. Everything around her will be completely white, except for the item she is wanting, and she will do what she needs to do to get it out. A car, she'd drive out. Once items are pulled from the portal, the portal disappears. If she wants the item to disappear after it has been pulled from the portal, she merely has to take her paintbrush and use it like she would an eraser. It really is just a mental command, so it's easy. If she imagines it is gone, then it is gone.
