Personality: Arai is a complicated and highly unpredictable person because she has a split personality that can be rather unsettling to be around. Her personalities allow to shift from a normal teenage girl that has the same hopes and dreams that most teenage girls have to a semi-emotionless, violent, and slightly sadistic person that will not hesitate to harm another if it made her feel better. Unfortunately, the second personality just mentioned is the actual Arai. The first personality mentioned is the one she created, as mentioned in her background. The first personality is Arai's Image, what she always wanted to be and how she felt a normal girl was supposed to act like. The second personality is True Arai, how she ended up after being mentally and physically tortured by her Father and later the students around her. Arai's Image is the personality that is seen more often, but it is not the strongest. True Arai is the stronger of the two and can easily take over if she decides to do so.

Arai's Image: This personality of Arai's is actually quite normal. This Arai can be kind and very happy. She smiles, laughs, and has a decent sense of humor. She can be confident in certain aspects of her life, such as her cooking. She can be insecure in aspects of her life, which unfortunately highly outweighs her confidence, such as her schooling, being around boys, making friends, and her physical image. Arai is extremely insecure when it comes to whether she believes she is good looking or not. She has been told countless times that she is ugly, so it sank in after a while and she started to believe it. Arai's Image is clumsy, often falling while carrying things, tripping over her own feet, and knocking things over. She isn't the smartest of the group either. She fails tests constantly and has trouble with homework no matter how much she tries and studies. Although she can be very outgoing and sweet, with her past, she doesn't have an easy time when trying to get to know people. She's even had a couple crushes on a few boys in her lifetime, but they merely insult and humiliate her when they can, so that brings out the shyness in high insecurities as well. Arai wants to make friends and tries really hard, but seems to always fail. Arai's Image is one of those people who will try, but if she fails once she won't likely try it again, so she gives up easily. Arai's Image has a fear of cats, dogs, and snakes. She also fears allowing True Arai come forth again to hurt someone, though she knows she isn't strong or dominant enough to stop her.

True Arai: This is obviously what Arai would have been if she had not created the Image of herself when alone for so many years. True Arai is very dull and soft spoken, but can snap into a very violent and sadistic girl very quickly. Usually, True Arai only takes over when Arai's Image is being threatened or is too upset or scared to stay in control. When this happens, True Arai usually comes out in a 'bad mood' and will attack anything that is causing these problems within Arai's Image. She takes pleasure in harming anyone who tries to emotionally or physically hurt her. Whether it's choking them to death or mentally torturing them with her mind games, she'll have a good time doing it. True Arai inherited a lot of the intelligence that her Father held, so unlike Arai's Image, she is much more intelligent, border-lining genius. True Arai is also very talented, having the memories that gave her the ability to play the violin and piano like a pro. True Arai fears nothing, cares for very little, and trusts almost no one. She's very to herself, aloof, stoic, and mysterious at times. When she gets violent, she doesn't even show it through the expressions on her face. Instead, she always seems perfectly calm and unnaturally at ease. If someone is hurting her, she won't even wince. It's almost like she doesn't feel the pain, but it's more the fact that she's used to it and no longer reacts when feeling it unless it is immense.

Character Background: Arai was born and raised in an environment that only wished to cut her open and stick her with needles to see how long it would take before she'd snap. For most of her life, Arai was forced to be a laboratory experiment, living day to day under the knife and obsessions of her own Father. For years, her Father and his experiments were all she knew. He was trying to use her body to create a weapon that would cancel out all spiritual energies in existence. Because of this, she was never given a glimpse of the outside world. He made sure of that by keeping her locked in a window-less room in their home. In this room, she was given a bed, a nightstand that held the only outfit she possessed, and a mirror. Over time, Arai began starring at herself, talking to herself, and subconsciously created another part of herself. This part of Arai was her only friend and only wished to protect her. One day, her Father came to the room when Arai's 'friend' was the one there and took her away. Arai's 'friend' was very kind and sweet, ignorant to everything Arai's Father had done. So, when she was taken back to be experimented on, she panicked and tried to run, screaming her lungs out for someone to help. Her Father was startled and angered by her behavior and gave chase. Arai's 'friend' continued to run away and, out of instinct, she grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the chest when he got close enough. He died moments later, leaving Arai Fatherless and this second part of Arai confused and scared about the fact that she had just taken someone's life. Arai looked into a small mirror and attempted to talk to the 'real' Arai, but she wasn't there. For now, this Arai had taken over and was on her own. Unsure of what to do, she panicked and decided to hide the body in the basement. She shoved him in a freezer, closed, and locked it. When her Father didn't show up for work for a month, his coworkers began to worry and showed up at his home to check on him. All they found was a very dull, practically lifeless young woman laying on the floor in the hallway. None of his coworkers knew about his freakish obsessions with experimentation, so they had no idea what had gone on in the house. Some of them acted shocked and confused when they found out that Arai was his daughter. Searching the place, they found his body and called the authorities. With a simple explanation from Arai and showing them the laboratory and her Father's notes on what he had done to her, they immediately knew that she was just defending herself.

After everything was taken care of, Arai was allowed to keep the house and everything inside of it. Her Father made enough money to keep her living like normal for at least ten years, so she didn't have to worry about that. Arai was told she was going to have to start school and they enrolled her in Karakura High. She was frightened of having to go to a place where a lot of people her age would be. She figured they wouldn't like her. Either way, she was forced to go and ended up finding out about a few extra problems that she had when introduced to certain things. In her science class, they were going to dissect a frog and she looked over to see a boy pick up a scalpel. Flashbacks shot through her mind and she immediately panicked and went to defend herself by stabbing him in the stomach with another one of the dissecting tools. She was punished, but not as badly as someone else would have been since they were quickly informed of her upbringing and the fact that she should never have been a part of that experiment anyway. Now that she is entering her teenage years, Arai has been able to slightly and cautiously adjust to regular living. She still lives in the mansion she grew up in, but is always there alone. She spends most of her days reading, watching TV, cooking for herself, and trying to control herself. She has been made aware of her split personality and does her best to control it, but really has no ability to. This was proven when she was in her English class. She was having trouble reading through a paragraph the teacher called on her for and one of the guys  made fun of her for it. Feeling embarrassed and upset, Arai's first personality made itself known and she attacked the boy and tried to choke him to death. It took a while, but she was finally pulled off of him and arrested, but she still took his life. She was taken to court but got off on a technicality, which caused the boys parents to become furious and they threatened her life on multiple occasions after. One day, while she was walking home alone, the boys father got a hold of her and pulled her into a side alley between two stores. She was forced to the ground and he began choking her, constantly saying "How does it feel to have the life choked out of you?" and saying that he was doing it for his son. Of course, Arai had no memory of her killing the boy because it was not 'this' Arai that had done so, but her alternate personality. Luckily for Arai, someone saw what was happening and ran in to help her. She was saved and the man was arrested and sent to jail for assault and attempted murder.

Arai was living as normally as she could, but she wasn't able to make any friends though out this entire time. Not many could blame anyone for wanting to stay away from her. Although Arai was unaware of the situation, so many people knew that she choked a classmate to death and got out of being put in jail. Some thought she had some kind of connection within the government and that she'd use those connection to get them killed. Others thought she had the ability to control peoples minds and made the judge let her go. Arai did know about what happened, having switched back to her usual personality during the trial, but while she was in that mind, the memories of the other personality were locked away. She was mentally forced into a corner, trying to be nice to people, but never getting a kind response back from anyone. One day, someone was dared to confront her about it during lunch. She was asked about the murder and she denied it completely. She was asked how she could get out of something like that when over thirty students saw her do it, and she continued to deny it. The ones asking her got irritated with her. A boy held reached out and grabbed tightly onto her shoulder. A strong current of electricity was shot through her body, causing her to spasm and her body to drop in pain. The guy continued this torture for a while, doing his best to get her to confess. She never did. Others just watched her tense in pain as the electricity was continually pushed through her body. He stopped and asked her to confess into a recorder, but she denied it again. She looked at him with anger in her eyes, which did startle him, but he merely grabbed her once again and shot the electricity through her body. He pushed her up to a wall and increased the voltage, causing burns to appear on her skin. When that happened, she felt the other Arai trying to come out, but fought it. The voltage was once again increased and she couldn't fight it, so the other Arai came forth and took over. Arai opened her eyes and they changed color to a crimson red. She looked towards the boy and suddenly the voltage he was sending into her stopped. He stepped away from her out of fear when her demeanor changed. Arai stared at him, not blinking an eye and suddenly charged, tackling him to the ground and choking him the same way she had done the other. This time, people didn't just stand back yelling at her to stop. Something hit her in the back of the head really hard, causing her to collapse, knocked out from the blow. Three weeks later, she woke up in the hospital to find out that a teacher saw the entire thing. It was explained to Arai that she was a danger to the students and that even though it has not been her fault, she cannot control it the way they had first hoped. She was no longer allowed at the school...


Natural Abilities:

Energy Resistant: Arai's body is not effected as easily by energy based attacks than other people. There was a time she had been electrocuted (as seen in history) and even though her body reacted, it wasn't enough to even make her scream and it took an extremely high voltage to even burn her skin. It takes a lot for an energy based attack to harm her enough to cause injury. Because of this, physical based attacks are obviously this girls weakness.

Appearance change: When her abilities are active her eyes change to a crimson red color.
Abilities:

Visual Energy Binding: This ability is channeled through Arai's eyes. When she looks at a person, a lot of the energy within their body will be bound and inaccessible. They will not be able to use it at all or the way they are used to. This ability affects all types of energy, not just Qi or Reishi. Any energy based abilities and enhancements will become unusable or greatly weakened. The amount of energy bound completely depends on the amount that Arai herself has. She is able to bind an amount of energy that is 2 sub-tier below her normal amount of energy. (For Example: If she is a 2-5 she will be able to bind an amount of energy equaling a 2-3.) In some cases, she can completely bind a person's energy, but they would have to be at least 2 sub-tier below herself. Arai's binding of a person's energy will cease after 15 seconds (3 posts), when she blinks, or when she breaks eye contact with the object or person. The ability can only effect one person at a time. The person does not have to be looking at her for the ability to work, but merely be in her sights. After the binding stops, there is a one post cool down and she will be able to suppress the energy of the opponent once more. And finally, any energy based attacks or enhancements that are already in use, or being launched/fired, will instantly be weakened or cancelled out, depending on the amount of energy being suppressed. This ability effects both internal and external users. Internal users will no longer be able to exert the set amount of energy they have in their bodies to use their powers. External users will no longer be able to access the set amount of energy outside of their body to use their powers either. In easier terms, when being looked at, Arai's ability temporarily binds the opponents ability to connect with their normal amount of energy.
