[Zeref, the dark Wizard]
Not many lands were as desolate and destroyed as this one - in fact, Zeref knew of nothing else like it. But obviously, that was just what he had been looking for - an empty space, where there were no feelings and nobody around he could hurt. This area he was in, it was scorching hot - sitting there on a super-heated rock like it was nothing, was him. Zeref, the dark wizard - his robes somehow not catching on fire. The reason was quite simple - the natural law of 'burning' was getting 'killed' by his influence on the air around him, and while others would find it unbearingly hot here, he barely even noticed. The eyes of the mage were closed - meditation was good for his soul, it kept the burning desire for destruction at bay. That hunger was so gigantic that even the hot air of this area seemed cold - but even greater was Zeref's desire not to destroy anything ever again.
After all, he was responsible for WHY this land was almost impossible to inhabit by now. The greatest war never told had taken place here as well - it scorched this patch of land forever, while it froze others. Zeref had no recollection on if he, as 'Cubia', had been responsible for the entirety of this wasteland, but he certainly didn't help matters while rampaging through the oldest empire. A sudden burst of flame, like a couple of wings, brushed past the wizard - a small Guardian Beast, most likely. Even though he was so filled with 'emptiness' and nothing else - they still felt no direct hate for him. That gave the wizard hope, as he slowly opened his eyes again - how long had he been meditating? A minute, or ten years? It was hard to tell for him, as time was an almost completely alien concept to an 'immortal' as old as him. But now, the wizard also remembered why he chose this exact spot to hide out for the moment... Because beneath the ground here, something was buried. An ancient weapon, once used by his very own minions, the 'Apostles'... And it had to be destroyed sooner rather than later. Someone finding and using it could be a potential disaster, and who would be better to dispose of a void artifact than the one being that could not be corrupted by it? Little did Zeref know, it probably wouldn't be as easy... or as lonely. The latter would actually make him happy if he knew.
