Basics
Name: Mukai Takumi
True Age: 17
Gender: Alpha Female
Personality: Born a rebel, die a rebel; Mukai Takumi is the epitome of defiance. She is the first to give a big “fuck you” to anyone who makes the attempt at trying to change who she truly is, as well as the second to cave the face in of those who try to judge her. She is foul-mouthed and quick-tempered, a fierce woman who fights for what she believes in, no matter who she is facing. Untamed like the lion, wild with the fury of a panther, Takumi is truly one of a kind. In addition to her straightforward personality, Takumi is incontestably arrogant. She doesn’t think she’s “the hottest property around”, but she is both proud of the way she carries herself and her talents as a fighter.
She doesn't exactly believe in honor, seeing it as more of a moral trapping than a strength enhancer in battle. In order to win, most of the time, you have to take the underhanded route, do what no one would expect, and secure victory through dirty means. Of course, due to her background, Takumi does manage to maintain a semblance of honor against her opponents.
As long as they don’t play dirty, she won’t either. She despises cheating, though she has been known to swindle her way out of a few situations, thanks to her augmented brain. Which thus leads us to another trait, one that would no doubt surprise those who knew her intimately; Takumi is quite the prodigal individual, though not in the sense of smarts. Due to her sole ability, Takumi has the power of accelerated adaption, allowing her to assess the situation before her, and then building a stratagem capable of bringing about victory.
Things such as schoolwork are surprisingly easy to her; teachers are wide-eyed at how she can be so destructive yet maintain honor roll-level grades. And that’s what makes Takumi a dark horse in the eyes of most opponents. To them, she is nothing more than a loud-mouthed harlot who doesn't know her place. To those who know Takumi most intimately, she is an able leader who can act according to the situation presented to her. Adding to her intelligence, Takumi is not afraid of going the distance for her friends, her gang being the main group. As she has spent most of her life with these individuals, she will never allow harm to come upon them. Although she loves her mother – the sole family she has since her father died in a shooting – her Yakuza group is considered her second family, holding a deep place in her heart.
There is nothing in the world she wouldn't do for them, so those who wish to fight them, will have to kill her first, which proves little more than futile. In spite of how terse Takumi can be in her personality, she is surprisingly sociable to those who she considers friends. She will always put up a veneer of denial, hiding her emotions as best as possible, but once her walls have been torn down, Takumi shows a much more kinder side than most would come to expect of her. Although she is not what one would consider a Tsundere, she is easily embarrassed whenever someone compliments her.
As she is not use to hearing her name attached to words such as pretty or beautiful, she has difficult comprehending the feelings of others, especially in the field of romance. Growing up, she never really bothered with romance; movies she watched as a child made her reticent towards the idea of love and affection. However, she isn't completely against the idea. In order to carry on the name of her family, she will eventually have to settle down, though one thing she will never be is a stay at home mom. In her own words, “she’s too badass,” for a fate such as that. What Takumi truly desires is to become someone legendary, to etch her name in history as one of the greatest gang leaders to ever lie. And so, she steps forth on her path, ready to make her greatest dreams a reality.

Natural Abilities
Natural Abilities: Accelerated Adaptability: This is the sole ability in Takumi’s arsenal as a fighter, yet its versatility need not be questioned, for what this ability of adaption grants her is the capability to bring about victory on the battlefield, provided that she use the right strategy to do so. Although this ability may sound uncommon, it is wise to point that everyone possesses some sense of adaption to their situation. Animals adapt to the climate of their environment, people adapt to the ever-changing status quo of the world, and so on and so forth. The time it takes to adapt to such things, however, range from days to months, years to decades. Adapting to a situation, however, is not easily accomplished.
Those unaccustomed to foreign elements will no doubt find themselves losing themselves to anxiousness, unable to act with the necessary prudence required to complete the task. Even emotions tie in to adapting to change. For example, consider a man who has lived nearly his entire life in one house, being forced from his home by a uncaring landlord. First, he has to consider where he will go, then consider how he can adapt to the new location. His emotions are still mired in anger due to being forced from his home, to having to adapt to a situation he is not use to. In short, everyone, no matter who they may be, cannot easily adapt to what nature decrees.
Even Takumi is not exempt from the equation – but she sure has one hell of an equalizer in accelerated adaptability. The mechanics behind the ability are relatively simple, it is just an accelerated form of adaptation to nature. What it allows is for her to have something placed before her eyes, be it a visual or non-physical construct, and decipher and adapt her mind and body to that one particular thing. For instance, by placing a book in front of Takumi, she can evaluate the knowledge within, adapt to the mechanics of what equations connects to the other, and understand the inner-workings pf what she is reading in seconds.
Her IQ is actually higher than people would expect because of this, as her brain allows her to adapt to things as trivial as school papers or study books. She can essentially adapt to – or at least learn to – adapt to anything that doesn't defy the laws of the divines. Things like watching television – which usually, would only benefit the entertainment purposes of others, can be used to help guide Takumi through battle or any other situation that doesn't require divine powers. In fact, her knowledge of martial arts were not gained through learning informally from a teacher, they were gained through watching others, learning the principle, the way the body moved, and the idea behind the techniques.
Once she was able to calculate all of that, even at her young age, she could adapt those techniques to her own body. And that is the sum of what accelerated adaptability does. It fundamentally grants her the ability to learn from something that would take others years to learn, in only days. Of course, there are limits to what she can do.
One example is; she cannot adapt nor replicate the elemental or divine power of another warrior, meaning that she cannot create fire because she knows the mechanics behind fire or ice because she knows the mechanics behind ice.
And even though she has a grasp of science, she cannot replicate powers such as Electromagnetism or those that exist in the world. In order to copy and adapt things to her, they have to be purely physical. Learning a martial art, cooking, running faster, anything that requires some form of hands-on work, is the only thing possible to her, and yet, that is all she needs in order to attain victory.
Can See Spirits: Yes.

Character Background: The origin of the birth of Takumi Mukai is a profound oddity. She was born to parents who were, in her eyes, worlds apart. Her mother was a nurse-in-progress at one of the most prolific hospitals in Tokyo…. And her father was a delinquent, who hailed from a family possessing connections with the Yakuza. Her father’s name was Takumi Arata, her mother, Asagi Itsumori. The two were so vastly distinct in their personality that even Takumi can do naught but wonder how they ever fell in love. Arata was a wild, loud, man who always brought trouble wherever he set foot in. His grades were less than satisfactory, his sole desire being to instill fear in those who opposed him.
In contrast, Asagi was the complete opposite. She was the Ojou-sama of her school. Beautiful and captivating, she was the very definition of popularity. Much of her family’s fortune had been cultivated in due part to their jobs as nurses and doctors, neurosurgeons and assistants. Arata was the infamous Banchou, and his family was the exact opposite of Asagi’s.
His father encouraged his actions, building ideas in his head that was the cause of much of his misconduct. So how did these two end up together you ask? Romance has the most peculiar way of bringing two people together. Even individuals who possess indescribable hate for one another may eventually find themselves smitten with the very person they detest; Arata and Asagi’s love would be defined in this way. Whenever the two met each other outside the halls, they would always bicker.
Asagi would waste no time in alerting the principal of his rumble-rousing, he in turn, ruined the cars she drove in to school on a daily basis. One day, however, the two were forced to work together on a school project, as the principal had long since grown tired of their antics. As it was customary for students to work in an environment suited to helping them study sufficiently, they had difficulty finding the right area where people could not see them.
They had a reputation to keep, after all. Her parents had told her that they were going on a vacation to an island resort, so the house was free for her to have fun and enjoy herself while they were away. An idea dawned on her, though she highly despised its implications. Perhaps they could study at her house until they returned.
Even though Asagi shuddered at the thought of having a delinquent within her parent’s house, she equally had no desire to go to Arata’s house, to say nothing of making an attempt at studying. As expected, Arata annoyed Asagi to no end. Whenever the two took a “study break” he would go into her fridge and devour any food he could find.
This would be his undoing as when he decided to throw a handful of raw food in his mouth one day, he came down with a stomach virus. Asagi wanted to scream to the sky at her misfortune; “Oh Buddha, why have you cursed me so!?” she would seem to yell, but no avail.
She had no intention of taking him to the hospital, as it would sully her reputation. She came to the decision that she would nurse him back to health, taking full reign of the project herself. Arata, too, hated the predicament he fell into… and yet, she was so kind to him, even at the expense of her pride.
She would cook meals for him and help him into her shower, care for him with a mother’s love, something he never experienced. His father had driven his mother away at a young age, so love and care were foreign concepts to him. He would often ask her why she was going to such lengths to help him get better.
And she would always answer with: “Why do you need to ask? As nurses, It always our job to help those in need, even if
we hate their guts. “ However, Arata could also tell that the combined job of caring for him and working on their school project was putting a major strain on her.
And so, when he felt better, he decided to return the same favor. He ordered her to sleep in bed, allow him to cook meals and complete the school project to the best of his ability. Asagi was astonished and at the same time, captivated. In time, she wanted to turn him into a man who she could be proud of, and like that, their romance blossomed.
The two completed their project. Asagi graduated with flying colors while Arata took extra classes to improve his grades and insure his own graduation. He renounced his entire family, moved out, and moved in with Asagi. His father was outraged, yet Arata cared little for his rules. He had long since grown tired of leading a life that would only end in him going to jail.
He never contacted him anymore from that day onward. Although Asagi’s parents were initially reticent towards the idea of having a Banchou living amongst their family, Arata was a changed man and he wanted to prove it. Asagi’s father decided to take him under his wing and show him the way of a warrior, introducing him to martial arts as a way to use his well-defined body without meaningless violence.
Their college years were not very eventful. It was simply a cycle of Arata returning home to learn of his father’s teachings whilst maintaining his five year relationship with Asagi. Once the two graduated, they decided to make love. As their night of lovemaking met its conclusion, Asagi would later find out that she was pregnant with Arata's child. Arata was, needless to say, jubilated.
He was given the chance, in his eyes, to be a better father than his own ever . And so on a vibrant summer, the two lovers gave birth to Mukai Takumi, their one and only child. As a baby, she would often get curious and watch her father and mother diligently, following them wherever they went, despite the maids best efforts to keep her from crawling from her crib. Even as a baby, she showed signs of rebellion. She would often cry wildly until her parents returned, smiling at their arrival, frowning at their departures.
When her life as infant passed, she was just as difficult to care for growing into childhood. She never made many friends in elementary school due to her brutal honesty, and quickly amassed the reputation as “Banchou Takumi”, the elementary school delinquent. And yet, even despite this reputation, her intellect in her classes was the subject of much wonder to her teachers. They were taken aback by the fact that she could perform so well in class and yet have such a rough disposition. Even as she reached middle school, her antics did not stop. If any student made the attempt at bullying her, she would beat them from head to toe until they went home crying to their mother.
Her reputation, here, however was far better compared to the one she gained in elementary school. She was the so-called "Protector of the weak" among the students who were bullied by others. She made a few friends, but still, not much to make her popular.
Whenever she wasn't in school, she was always watching her father train with her grandfather and her mother helping a doctor pull patients away from the call of death. One day her father caught sight of her watching him train and offered her a chance to train with him. Takumi’s mother was initially against the idea, as her vision for Takumi was that of a princess to be spoiled, not some rough-and-tough martial artist. Even so, Takumi had already discarded the idea of being a princess.
She became deeply immersed within shoot out films, Scarface, the Godfather movies, and a plethora of other material a girl her age would dare not think twice of. Her father thought nothing of it, and so he decided to teach her the arts passed down to him by the man he viewed as a real father.
Arata initially expected Takumi to perform horribly due to her young age, yet she betrayed his expectations and surpassed them. Each of the arts she trained her in was of little difficulty to her, partly because of her ability to adapt to whatever he threw her way. As her body matured, she could perform these techniques with great power and finesse, leaving her father in awe.
