Alanna is a laid back, candy devouring, young-looking adult who doesn't mind sitting back and hanging out with her students and friends. Being a teacher, Alanna knows how to deal with the younger generation. She also knows how to fit in with them and treat them like equals, not like she has some authority over them. At the same time, she knows where to draw the line. She knows that many children just need some guidance and help through their lives, so she tries to be there for them. She can shift from being like a mother, a teacher, a counselor, or the boss, all depending the situation and what is needed. A lot of this is why a lot of her students adore her. She is one of the most well known teachers at Karakura High School because of her laid back, yet strict way of treating her students. Now, a lot of things can change out of the work place. Alanna is naturally laid back and a little lenient on some things and that actually doesn't change very much. She still upholds the rules of the school rather well. She does, however, enjoy the company of her students after school. She opens up her candy shop, which she intentionally has set up with multiple tables and even a couple of computers to allow them to study, and allows them to hang out a bit. She does this especially for the teenagers who have problems at home, need help studying, or those who have no real home to go back to. Alanna loves to teach and be there for other people. It gives her a sense of meaning in her life and makes her feel like she is doing something good for the world, at least her part of it. Even with her kind nature, Alanna has a side of her that will kick your ass if she is forced into it. This only happens if it is in defense of herself or someone else. She won't start anything with anyone, but she'll have no problem finishing it. She isn't a push over. Alanna hates violence and gets sick at the sight of blood or larger injuries. Alanna also has no problem having a few drinks with friends, but it isn't that often that it happens. Alanna also has an obsession with candy. Her favorite is a caramel hard candy that she created when she first started up her shop and making candy herself.

Character Background:

Alanna's history does not begin with her birth, but with that of her Grandmother Miranda Kyprianou, born in America fifty years before her. Miranda was the first in her family to ever experience the development of spiritual powers. Her Grandmother was what they would call a 'witch' back then. Although her practice was not in black or dark magic, it was not seen differently in that time. She was forced to practice in secret. Her powers soon developed to more than just a few minor spells. She found she was able to enchant items and create potions by mixing different ingredients. She began to document her findings and started travelling around, following rumors of others like herself. In her travels, she came across a man named John Laurence. He told her that he was also blessed with gifts and spiritual powers that he also had to keep secret. After some time, the two were married and Miranda attempted to get him to show her his power and allow her to show him hers. He repeatedly denied saying that it was in fear of the two of them being accused of witchcraft and being killed. Miranda agreed with him until one day he pulled her into the forest near their village. He convinced her to use her powers and was happy to do so, at least until she realized that it was a trap. People had been following her for a long time, trying to catch her in the act, and then used her love for him to catch her in the act. Immediately she was sentenced to death, but upon finding that she was pregnant with William's child, she was given until the birth of the baby to live. Once the baby was born, Miranda was allowed to give the baby her name. She refused to allow her child to take the name of the man who betrayed her. The baby was named Kathrine Kyprianou and then given to a family of the church to grow. Upon the day of her execution, Miranda was able to escape and returned to John's house. She slaughtered him in his sleep and stole a rare gem that he had and vanished with it. Kathrine, Miranda's daughter, lived most of her life unaware of the actual fate of her Mother, having been brought up thinking her mother died of illness when she was a baby. No one told her that her Mother was a "witch" that murdered her Father after escaping her execution.

Kathrine lived her life normally until she reached the age of twenty. It was noticed by many that she still looked like a fifteen year old girl. People began treating her badly, shunning her as the years passed. They assumed that either her Mother did something to keep her from aging, or that Kathrine was also practicing dark magic. When Kathrine was twenty three years old, she met a man, married him, and soon became pregnant. Around the age of 26, when the child was supposed to be older, she was still a baby and Kathrine also continued looking like a fifteen year old girl. People panicked and wanted her death, assuming that there was a curse or dark magic being practiced within the family. Kathrine, her husband, and the baby were all sentenced to burn. The couple stood on a large pile of wood tied to a large post, while another held their baby in his arms, waiting for his cue to throw the child into a fire that was soon to be started. Kathrine held her husbands hand tightly as they stood there strong, waiting for their 'punishment' by these people who assumed wrong. They were asked to confess their 'sins' and told that if they did they would be set free. They refused to tarnish their names in the eyes of God, so they confessed nothing and were ready to die together. The fire was started and it burned through the wood rapidly, coming closer and closer. The signal was given and their baby was tossed towards the fire. The two watched in horror, then shock, and then relief. Their baby's body began hovering above the fire, rescued from the flames by some invisible force. A strong pressure suddenly appeared, forcing everyone around to their knees, excluding Kathrine and her husband. A woman appeared, Miranda Kyprianou, Kathrine's Mother. She freed them and took them from the area. Next thing they knew, they were in the middle of the forest a good ten miles away from where their lives had been threatened. Miranda explained who she was and after some thought and unbelievable information, Kathrine and her husband believed what was said. It was then that the baby's name was changed to Alanna Kyprianou, instead of taking her Father's name.

And this is when Alanna's life really begins. Alanna was born on July 4th of 1649 to her Father William Kyprianou, who later took on her Mother's last name, and her Mother Kathrine Kyprianou. For years, she lived with her Grandmother, Mother, and Father. They constantly moved from place to place, not ever staying anywhere too long. Because of this, Alanna never really made friends or got to know anyone. She was not made aware of her parents abilities until they felt she was old enough to understand them and keep them secret from the rest of the world. This moment came when she was about fifteen years old, though she still looked much younger. She was made aware of the fact that they did not age like normal, her grandmother's abilities and knowledge, and the fact that she too was the same and may develop abilities for herself. Her Father was a normal human, which worried both her and her Mother. While he aged, they stayed young and healthy. Years passed and while he looked forty and was only getting older, they were still in their teens. Soon, he passed away, leaving them alone and devastated at the loss. When Alanna was one hundred and fifty years old, she was given a stone by her grandmother. It was meant to protect her since she didn't seem to be developing any powers as of yet. Her mother on the other hand, began developing powers that allowed her to alter the minds of others. This meaning, that she was able to put images in peoples heads, forcing them to see and hear whatever she wanted them to see and hear, though it was just like a hologram, it couldn't be touched. A few more years passed and her Grandmother met her match and her life was taken. Alanna and her mother were forced into hiding, moving to the west. They were able to live happily there, but after a few years passed by, their anti-aging DNA once again became a problem when people began to notice. Once again, they were forced to move. This time they took a boat to China to start a new life there. Unfortunately, they were followed by the same man that wished to kill their bloodline and Alanna's mother's life was taken. Alanna ran.

Alanna made her way to Japan at the age of two hundred (though she barely looked twenty), hoping that she finally would lose who ever this man was. During this time, she developed her own powers. They were very interesting and hard to grasp. She realized she was able to make an area her own and move others in her areas to her own realm. It took a very, very, very long time, but she was able to grasp and master her abilities. By the time she turned three hundred and fifty years old, she mastered them completely. It was at this time that the man once again showed up in her life and threatened her. This time, Alanna was not going to run. She wasn't going to make the same mistake and turn her back to this man. She asked him who he was and why he was doing this and it was explained. He was her Great Grandfather. He wanted revenge on her Grandmother for killing his son in his sleep. Alanna was shocked and angry at the information. She had not known about any of this. Either way, she went on to fight him and he foolishly walked through a door to her Death Territory. He ignored the warning and entered anyway. In the process, he failed to abide by the rules of the territory, even though they had been explained, and was killed in the process. His determination to get revenge blinded him of Alanna's actual power and ended his life. Alanna was now free of the terror her own Great Grandfather had caused. Now, she moved to Karakura and opened up a candy shop next to Karakura High School. It was about this time that spiritually advanced humans were becoming known to the world, so she didn't have to hide anymore. She ended up going to school and getting her degree. After such, she became a teacher at Karakura High, only opening shop after school hours to allow students to relax and study. After a while, she became the 'cool' teacher and students would enjoy relaxing at her place. Overall, Alanna's life was actually quite happy and relaxing... Though, she noticed she was occasionally picked on for her height. She was quite tall for a woman, especially in Japan... Irritating...

Natural Abilities

Alanna is in possession of a stone that was given to her by her grandmother. The stone was enchanted by her Great Grandmother to protect the youngest members of her family. Her Great Grandmother made it into a necklace that she also enchanted the chain of. The stone itself creates a constant barrier that surrounds the wearer in a five foot radius. The barrier repels anything or anyone that have the intent to harm her in any way. She can be standing close to someone and suddenly feel frightened of them and they will be pushed away. The barrier will extend to anyone or anything that the wearer is touching, as long as it is within the five foot radius of the barrier. The enchantment allows the stone to immediately sense the danger, so Alanna does not have to see the attack coming. It will merely be stopped. If the attack is strong enough, the person can end up hitting the barrier with enough force to still push her from her feet and hit her some where, but the attack will not hit her body. The enchantment on the chain keeps anyone but Alanna from removing it from her neck. No person will be able to remove it from her neck. If the necklace is off of her neck and stolen, the enhancements will not work for anyone not a part of her bloodline.

Territory:

The power of 'territory' allows Alanna to claim an area as her own and create the rules that another must follow. The area can be an entire city, neighborhood, or as small as a classroom. Once Alanna has claimed the area, she can activate and deactivate the territory at will. This means that if it is active, those who enter will see the territory that she has created. If it is deactivated, those who enter will see the regular surroundings, not her territory. When the territory is activated, those that are inside the claimed area will see her territory as well. Those who enter the territory after it has been activated will be in the regular area. It is like being transferred to a completely different realm, but the realm belongs to Alanna. In a way, she acts like the "God" of the realm. If an area is currently active and Alanna wants another to enter her territory, she will usually use something as a portal to allow them passage, most of the time a door. Upon entry of her territory, the person will see nothing but blackness in all directions. Once they enter, the door or portal they came through will instantly close, but Alanna cannot unwillingly trap anyone within a realm that can harm them. There are two different types of territories, Dangerous and Harmless. They will have to accept her terms and conditions of any Dangerous territory. If they do not, accept them then they are immediately transferred from her territory unharmed and back to the exact place they entered her territory and will not be allowed to re-enter it for the duration of whatever is going on inside. If they do agree to the rules, they will be allowed to proceed, but must follow them no matter what, or consequences will follow. Within the territory she can create practically any set of surroundings that she wants, but the size of the territory will always be equal to the size of the territory in which she has claimed. Those who accept the rules and wish to move forward will be put through different tests, challenges, and battles, depending on what type of territory that Alanna has created for the situation. Everything that is created within Alanna's territories are real, not illusions. Yes, they are conjured up by her mind, but they are one hundred percent real to the person any person that has stepped foot within her territory. Alanna can see every single movement that a person makes within her territories.

Current Mastered Territories: Each of these territories can be created at any time a territory is activated. These are just named for the ones she usually uses them for.

The Classroom: (Harmless) When this territory is activated, it is only to allow Alanna to watch everything very closely. It is a very simple and easy territory that all school rules are in place. If a rule is broken a red dot appears over their head. They are unable to see this dot, only she is. By clicking this dot, it opens up a screen that is invisible to anyone else's eyes. This screen will tell her exactly what school rule the student is breaking. Obviously she uses this to catch students who are cheating, not paying attention, or things along those lines. This is one territory that she will not have to ask them if they accept the terms and conditions because they have no real consequences. They won't get hurt or lose their life if they break the rules. The most that would happen is a suspension, detention, or a trip to the principals office. The terms and conditions are pretty much set by the school. A student who enters a classroom has an obligation to follow the school rules. This territory just helps enforce them without having to add security cameras.

The Maze: When people walk into this territory, after agreeing to the rules that Alanna has set, each person will walk through their own door. Each door will lead to a different part of a maze. While going through this maze they will constantly meet dead ends, traps, and other obstacles. They will be tested in multiple ways, whether asked question, battling, tricked, or anything along those lines. Depending on their answer, another area will open up. Sometimes they'll then be lead into a trap or a dangerous area. Other times they will be moved farther into the maze to be pushed closer towards an exit. If they do three challenges/tests incorrectly in a row, they will be immediately removed from the territory, IF that is the ending rule that was agreed upon. If the person agreed to a 'death' penalty or anything otherwise, then that will be what happens.

The Library: When people walk into this territory, they are met by a young woman in a suit. The door closes behind them and they are asked to sign a roster that holds a set of rules to be permitted into the library. They are warned that signing the roster forces them to comply with the rules. They are also warned that once they enter the library after signing the roster, they will have one hour to find their way out (sometimes the time limit may change). Their first clue will show up shortly. After that, when they enter the place it is an extremely large library. The smaller the area that was claimed as a territory to activate this one, the taller the building seems to be. It can be anywhere from one story and larger than four football fields or fifty stories and the size of two-three classrooms.

Death Territories: Unlike what the name obviously implies, this does NOT ALWAYS mean that if you fail you will die. She can turn any of her territories into a Death Territory if she wants. She cannot do this if people are already inside them, like in her classroom. Alanna uses these types of territories if someone is chasing her, attempting to hurt her, or anything like that. These are the territories that never need to ask if the person accepts the terms and conditions. To activate one of these, Alanna will summon a door as quickly as one's heart may beat. She will move through the door and immediately be teleported to her own area, which is where she watches everything. Above the door there will be a sign that warns the person that might be entering. “WARNING: Enter at your own risk, you make not make it out.” is what it says. If they choose to enter or just ignore the sign, they will automatically be forced to follow the rules of the territory. If they don't enter, obviously Alanna is safe. Within these territories, if the person breaks a rule, does something incorrectly, or takes the wrong path, then they could run into traps that could kill them in the end. It's all about making it to the end without breaking any rules, cheating, or taking the wrong path.

Death Territory #1: Survival Zone: This territory is a large forest, thick with trees and plants. The entire place is similar to that of an African Rain Forest. The trees are tall, so thick in some places that it blocks out some of the sun. The ground is covered with leaves and twigs. You'll immediately hear animals all around you. Birds can be heard, along with the occasional hiss of a snake or growl of a tiger. Alanna will speak through a mental connection that sounds similar to that of an intercom and explain the rules. Once the rules are explained, they will be forced to survive out in this wilderness for what seems like an entire week, since they will move through 7 days and 6 nights. On the outside, it will only be a few ours. Time within this Territory is sped up, although the person doesn't realize it.


  • Rule 1: You cannot use any of your spiritual power. (With this rule being accepted, a bracelet will appear on the persons wrist that completely seals ALL spiritual pressure, now matter how powerful the person is. The reason this is able to seal all spiritual pressure is because it is up to the character to actually agree to this one rule. If they do not agree with this one rule, multiple hollow of different strengths will be added to the challenge.

  • Rule 2: You will have to survive on your own, leaving all of your weapons behind.

  • Rule 3: If you break any of these rules, your punishment will be ________________________ (death, loss of something valuable, the destruction of belongings, a severe injury that automatically appears on the persons body)



Death Territory #2: Trivia Game: This territory will be used if there is more than one person, or she needs to put them through another territory. If there is one person and they need to be put through another territory, then Alanna will conjure a 'computer' character that they will go up against. (Computer generated character will be played by someone other than SerenityVerdant IF that is what the opponent feels is fair) This territory is literally no different than a game room for a TV show. There will be a set amount of podiums that the characters will stand at. Each character will be forced to answer questions. Some questions will be multiple choice, fill in the blank, true or false, define, and matching. The person who answers the question correctly wins. If both answer it correctly, it's the person who got the answer entered fastest. (This will be tested through skype, PC, or PM. The person who sends the answers to me fastest is the winner. Also, I won't post until both people are online to make it fair.) There will be a total of twenty questions, although that number can be adjusted. The person who wins gets to go free, but the person who loses gets the punishment. (Death, loss of something valuable, the destruction of belongings, a severe injury that automatically appears on the persons body.)

Beating The Territory: If someone makes it to the end of one territory, Alanna has the choice of letting them leave the territory or putting them right back into another. The maximum amount of regular territories she can put someone through in one day(thread) is three. The max amount of Death Territories she has the ability to put someone through is two. She does not have the ability to do any more than that. If she chooses to put them in another territory, they will merely walk through another door into a room of blackness, exactly how they walked in the first time. (Excluding both the classroom and the library territories.) From here, they will once again have the rules of the territory explained to them. They will once again have to agree to these rules, excluding Death Territories, and continue on. If Alanna maxes out her territories or decides not to put them through anymore, she shows them a door that allows them to exit. They'll be right in the area that they entered the territory at in the first place and she will also appear there as well.

Exit Doors: When Alanna wants to leave or deactivate her territory, she merely walks through one of the Territory Exits she has. She has a total of four spawned when she activates a territory. These exits can be spawned anywhere within her territory. The first one leads to her home. Walking through it is exactly like walking straight into her apartment from the front door. The second one leads her her parents house, which is exactly the same as walking through their front door. The third leads to her classroom at Karakura High School. It's also exactly like walking through the classroom door, although students may occasionally see her appear out of no where. The fourth one is right where the entrance to the territory originated. She'll end up right there with the rest of the people that were in her territory. Her territories can't be active while she is gone. If she leaves the territory while people are in there, she can freeze time for them for a while. When she returns, she'll automatically reactivate the territory and they will start off right where she had left them. Of course, she can only hold someone within her territory for a maximum of three days. Any longer than that and she'll end up draining her own energy to the point where it could kill her. If a Death Territory is beaten, she will be forced to walk through Door #4, making it where she is once again right in front of the person she just put through the Territory.
