Name: Fujou, Kohaku (巫浄 琥珀)
Nicknames:Broomstick Girl Magical Amber; Mister Chin; Aproned Devil; Thieving Cat
True Age: 19
Gender: Female
Personality: When most people see Kohaku, they wonder how she's still hired as a maid. She's a little clumsy. She has broken a few expensive things on accident, so why is she still there? Simple. She's too nice. She smiles almost constantly. She'll laugh at any joke someone tells that's meant to be funny, no matter how lame. She graciously apologizes whenever something happens and always takes money from her paycheck to pay for a replacement. She'll never blame something on someone else (though that isn't to say she won't avoid taking the blame, she just won't say it was someone else). She is always up before the people she works for and with. If someone wakes up earlier, then she's up. She's a light sleeper, but part of that is from her past. Though, it's rare for someone to be up earlier than Kohaku, but emergencies
do happen. She always is there in case Snopy (or his guest[s]) need her services as a maid.
However, Kohaku has a sort-of motherly complex towards Snopy. She knows how dangerous his job is. And so, most of her time being a nagging mother is telling him that he's too relaxed. There are some times where his attitude about things is almost an "I don't care, not my problem" to Kohaku. That makes her worry because sometimes things like that
can be a real problem in the end. So, she'd rather see him become a little more diligent. However, that's not all she worries about. If he doesn't get enough sleep, he best expect a lecture in the morning. She makes sure he has clean clothes and scolds him if he wears his clothing for too long.
However, most of that can be called nothing more than a facade. When things go boom underneath the mansion, Kohaku is the first to blame it on some natural occurance. But most of the time, it's actually her. Kohaku may keep that smiling face on, but she's not happy. Kohaku hides a very... troubled past behind her smile. Her eyes are closed shutters to things few people can take in one sitting. It's not something someone will get out of her. She won't talk about it at all. If you try to dig into it, she'll...
make you forget. Completely and effectively, she won't let you remember anything about her past. Kohaku uses any form of "negotiation" to "win" any argument. She makes sure that nothing happens in the mansion that can't be "fixed." She monitors everything that goes on by many different ways, both old-fashioned and high-tech. To be quite honest, nothing goes on in the mansion that Kohaku doesn't know about. Which is both terrifying and assuring, since she does make sure nothing
bad happens such as a burglary (though attempted vandals are... always missing from society for a few months and return claiming alien abduction). No one knows about the "other" side of Kohaku, as no one remembers it afterwards.
General Appearance
Appearance: Kohaku has neck-length magenta hair. It's strangely natural. The back of her hair is pulled back and tied by a ribbon. Her bangs are just above her amber-colored eyes. Those eyes are almost always in a kind, very open position. Her soft face is rounded out by a softer, yet almost mischievous, smile. She wears a dark brown kimono with a western-style apon over it. She wears traditional sandals as well.
Appearance Age: 19
Height: 156cm
Weight: 43kg
Natural Abilities
Natural Abilities: Medical Knowledge: Kohaku has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of medicines. This goes from modern medical knowledge to ancient spirit healing practices. This gives her a knowledge of what to do in case of everything from a papercut to a heart attack. If you fall and can't get up, Kohaku can get you dancing with a few herbs she grows behind the mansion. Everything she grows she either has a permit for or it's legal. Outside of her herbs, Kohaku is also rather good with physical medicine practices, such as healing a broken arm or even bullet wounds. However, the knowledge also has another application. While she knows how to heal someone, she also knows ways of killing someone. She can make it look like someone overate while she poisoned 'em. Don't think all of her herbs are healthy. And it's best not to try to take some of her herbs since only Kohaku knows the layout, which changes with every harvest.
Nǚyōngquán (女傭拳; Maid Fist): A style made for quick use. It's a style meant on quick, almost random strikes. It's not meant to be accurate or damaging, but speedy. This is almost more of an intimidation use, but it's still dangerous to get hit with. In fact, it's mainly used for repeated attacks in one spot. Of course, this won't be useful all of the time. It's going to eventually be predictable, but by that time there's supposed to be at least a little damage.
Sōintai-ryū (掃引体流; Style of Sweeping Bodies): Sōintai-ryū is a very unique version of Iaido. Instead of using a normal sword, Sōintai-ryū is exclusively used for a sword hidden inside of a broom. Which means that the traditional-style broom Kohaku uses is more than just a broom. The broom itself is a large bamboo stalk with bamboo branches as the bottom. It is only slightly shorter than she is. However, the second notch is separated, though it can't be seen until it's too late. Attached to that is a blade. It's a straight blade, but it is forged almost exactly like a katana. Sōintai-ryū uses the idea of a broom sweep being turned into a deadly motion. Kohaku can resheathe her sword before most people realize there's a sword in her broom. It makes her good as a defense system, especially coupled with her other tricks.
Qi Abilities
Type: Jìnéng
Appearance change: None
Abilities: Kohaku has a rather... special ability. It's some that people would call "too lewd." She is what people call a "Synchronizer." These are people whose Qi or Reishi is so pure, it can be transferred to the other type as a healing or recharging system. This occurs in other races, so it isn't just limited to humans. This allows Kohaku to be able to be a mobile recharging station. However, the way the Qi has to be transferred is what prevents her from using it. It is exchanged through bodily fluids. A kiss, her sneezing on you, sharing a needle, a blood transfusion, and sexual intercourse are all ways for her to transfer some of her Qi to someone, though the last is the most effective. It can't replenish those that have lost their Qi or Reishi, only those that still have some left.
Past & Roleplay Sample
Character Background:
Kohaku was a member of a branch family of the Fujou clan, but was brought with her sister Hisui to live in the Tohno mansion, because the Fujou clan had a special power of giving others energy. Makihisa Tohno needed this ability in order to keep control of his body. This transfer of energy is strongest though the means of sexual intercourse. Due to it, as a child she was constantly raped by Makihisa, and unlike the other children, she had to watch them from afar as they played together. Some time later, Makihisa decided to give more freedom to Kohaku, but in order to do it, she had to take care of an imprisoned SHIKI (who was imprisoned due to the Shiki incident and the fact Makihisa did not want to kill his son).
However, some time later, due to having to keep control of his body, just like his father; SHIKI raped Kohaku. This drove her further into despair and decided to get revenge on the Tohno family. To do it, she twisted and brainwashed SHIKI with her medicinal herbs, all for the sake of her revenge. Some time later, Akiha and Hisui learned of Makihisa's sin against Kohaku, and it depressed them greatly. Akiha freed Kohaku from Makihisa and she became a normal servant. But Hisui was still depressed so Kohaku, seeing her sister's free enthusiasm falter for her sake, promises Hisui that she will "take on her role" until she was cheerful again. Ironically, it is because of those words that Hisui is unable to return to her old self.
After Makihisa was murdered by SHIKI, Kohaku was put out on the streets, separated from Hisui. She doesn't remember how old she was when a kind, blond man helped her on a rainy night. She was allowed to stay at his house until he could find her an adoptive family. In order to pay him back, Kohaku began cleaning around the house. Kohaku was at the age where people stop adopting. This made her stay around a lot longer than the man—whom she later learned was named Snopy—originally planned... but it sure was cleaner around the mansion in which he lived. Impressed by Kohaku's turning the mansion around in only a few months, he offered Kohaku a job as a servant in the mansion. She graciously accepted. As a servant, she had to be able to train in home defense, so she developed not one but two fighting styles. She also got permission to plant an herb garden, which she constantly advises people not to go near.
