Personality: Serah is a young Sugiura with the mind of a teenager, that much is for sure. She's easygoing, fun-loving and can even be sweet... if she wants to be. She's got a certain bit of an ego to herself, and always seems to be relaxed. In fact, she's a slacker in many ways, and a deliquent - she's not going to hold back on her feelings, and has no trouble with bashing a grown mans face in if need be. It's not like she actively tries to get into trouble, but trouble always seems to find her anyway. Not that she minds it much.
Because of her being so workshy, one might assume that she'd also be incredibly terrible at school. However, she's actually quite smart when she tries, and usually scores top marks in her exams, no matter which one. This doesn't stop her from sleeping through all lessons or similiar things, though.
Most of the time, she hangs around her best friends only. It's not that easy to get her to even pay attention to those not on her 'list' of friends, but getting on it means that you pretty much got a friend for life. She's easily up for any sort of fun, and likes drinking and fooling around - even being a bit of a flirt, although she's rarely serious with it. Mostly because she has one, true love, ever since she started living in the human realm... but said true love never seems to 'get' any hints she drops, no matter how obvious, which can be quite infuriating to her. This isn't to say she's ALWAYS only thinking about having fun, though. She can talk seriously if need be, and helps her friends as much as she can, even to the point of disregarding her own needs and desires.
Another bit about her is the importance of 'family'. Her only real family has always been her mother, and she loves her mother dearly, even if she sees her more like a really close friend by now. So she obviously wants her mother to be happy, and has even at times tried to get her a new boyfriend - always with disastrous results.
Lastly... fighting. Serah doesn't enjoy it, but she still does it if she has to. As a Sugiura with no Guardian Beast, she's rather limited, but also seemingly has no real drive to obtain one.

But let's not forget one thing. Serah is a PERVERT. It's not going to be obvious unless you're one of her few friends - and even more obvious if you're the actual focus of her affections - but she's certainly not opposed to many kinks out there. You want to be put on a leash? ... or put her on a leash? She'd probably be up for it. She's not all that worried about fooling around sexually either, and quite open towards it... As long as you're always aware that she's merely playing around, that is. Sex is something quite casual to her.

Close Quarter Combat Specialist: While by no means an expert, Serah prefers her fighting up and close when she has to, using both her Sacred and a variety of martial arts moves to her own advantage. She is no master of any particular style and much more prone to 'winging it'.

Superhuman Speed: The first really noticeable inhuman thing about Serah is her speed. She's not so fast that you won't even see her anymore, no, but she easily outclasses even the best olympic-level humans without breaking a sweat.

Superhuman Dexterity: The second supernatural trait, Serah is dexterous to a high degree - this gives her amazing reflexes and aim when needed, allowing for precision strikes and dodges while using minimal strength. Not effective against those faster than her.

Character Background: Serah is a really young Sugiura, especially for the long-lived standards of her race that exceed most others. Born a mere 18 years ago, she's the daughter of Natsuki Kruger, a warrior of the Sugiura, strong in both body and mind. She never learned who her father was, and never felt a reason to ask, even when growing up - her mother was all that Serah needed as a child. Later in life, she simply decided that her father had not been anyone of greater consequence, and thus, never cared to ask her mother about his indentity.
Besides only having one parent, another thing was weird about now Serah grew up - because she didn't grow up in the home dimension of her race. Instead, her mother lived in the human world, and so she grew up there - a big reason as to why Serah feels much more in touch with humanity than with her own race. In a way, she IS human in mind, not Sugiura - as such, she never desired to obtain a Guardian Beast during her early life and teenage years, because she felt no reason to obtain 'power'.
Of course, she's still the daughter of a warrior. As such, she learned how to defend herself thanks to Natsuki, and how to wield her Sacred, which she first managed to summon at age 12. But those early teenage years are important for a different reason to her. This was the time when she met someone in school, someone that would change her life... A boy with a rather weak body, but sharp mind and quite cute features, at least to Serah. That person was Tohno Shiki.

Becoming interested in him, Serah used what little spiritual abilities she had to sneak after him a few times, but couldn't find out just what was so weird about him. Still, she decided to get closer to him - and eventually somehow managed to become his friend. This was also the time when she really started to not give a toss about school anymore, and became what you could call a 'deliquent' - school uniform, homework, attendance? Not for her. Yet she still didn't get thrown out of school, because her grades for some reason didn't drop too far.
Now, while still trying to spend as much time as possible with Shiki, she also noticed changes around him... A sense of danger. And for some reason, she felt as if he was 'slipping away' from her...
