Satoshi the Trickster (W.I.P.) Empty
PostSubject: Satoshi the Trickster (W.I.P.)   Satoshi the Trickster (W.I.P.) EmptyTue Aug 13, 2013 7:59 pm

~Sugiura Magus~

General

Name: Satoshi
Nickname/Alias: Sato; “Satoshi the Trickster”
Gender: Male
Age:
Clan: Eastern

Appearance

Height: 6’3”
Weight: 135 lbs. (Underweight)
Hair Color: Auburn
Eye Color: Yellow-Green
Animalistic Trait: His right eye is actually the eye of a snake, though Satoshi generally keeps it covered.
Overall Appearance:
Satoshi the Trickster (W.I.P.) 28ml5lj
In general, Satoshi’s overall appearance is both a bit odd and yet indicative of his true nature. To begin with, Satoshi’s actual body-type tends to make him stand out from others. Quite a bit taller than the average Japanese male, Satoshi’s height is offset by his below average weight of only one hundred and thirty-five pounds; underweight by any definition of the word. This discrepancy between his height and weight is due to the fact that Satoshi has a slight case of Anemia; not severe enough to be a true risk to his health, but enough to physically affect his body. Granted, because a lean frame is a perfect fit for his personality and abilities, some have come to the conclusion that his Anemia is merely his body’s way of portraying who he is. Granted, this is more of a “superstitious” line of thought, and to be honest, Satoshi himself doesn’t give a rat’s ass about his Anemia. Still, because of this, while his body is devoid of any body fat, there is also very little visible muscles or toning to Satoshi’s body; and when not clothed, he does have a slightly frail quality to his appearance. Of course, being a Magus, “true” physical combat is not his goal, so this lean and slender frame suits Satoshi on a practical level as well.

Now, while Satoshi’s body-type itself is rather eye catching, truly the most distinctive feature of this man is his face. Slender as with his body-type, Satoshi’s face is host to a plethora of different emotions that define him as a very “expressive” man. However, in line with his general role as “The Trickster”, Satoshi has actually mastered the art of controlling the emotions displayed by his facial features, and is easily able to change them on the fly depending on who he is “tricking”. That being said, the base emotion displayed by his face at any given time is best summed up by the word “playful”. With a sly grin most attributed to a fox and eyes (though usually only singular as his right eye is kept concealed at most times) that seem able to take in every minute reaction of his chosen “target”, Satoshi’s face will more often than not visibly display his playful and even mischievous nature. Of course, because he does keep his right eye covered at most times; there is always some sense of mystery portrayed by his face alone. Then again, once his right, snake’s eye is revealed, this “mystery” morphs into more of a sinister tone. In fact, the snake’s eye that Satoshi possesses actually represents the more “malicious” side that his “tricks” could take.

Moving along from “emotions”, Satoshi’s appearance is described just as well through his actual choice of clothing as through the actual “look” of his body. For starters, underneath practically any outfit he wears, Satoshi will have multiple portions of his body covered in cloth, bandage-like wrappings; mainly his arms, torso, legs below his knees, and a small amount on his face that covers his snake’s eye. Because Satoshi himself never even mentions anything about these wrappings, and the fact that his only known Animalistic trait is his right eye, most people assume that they are either simply a personal preference, a result of scars that will not go away, or have something to do with his powers (the latter answer being most correct). Aside from this, Satoshi’s choice of clothing, while odd to a modern sense of style is actually quite common among Sugiura from the Eastern Clan. Of course, because his clothing has to be tailored for his body-type, as well as simple personal taste, much of Satoshi’s wardrobe stands out from even the eastern norm as slightly more “decorative”. His normal outfit consists of a pale purple top, a slightly lighter purple haori with a crimson trim and darker purple floral pattern, grey sleeves overlaying those of his top, a black tied sash for a belt, and pale red hamaka pants. Overall, this outfit does actually make Satoshi stand out just as much as any one of his other physical features; and this is compounded by the fact that he usually wears a sort of “ceremonial” fox mask at an angle that only covers the top right portion of his face. Oddly enough, this mask serves no practical purpose whatsoever, and is not indicative of any of his true traits. Simply put, Satoshi knows that the fox is seen as the traditional “trickster animal”, and wears it only to mess with people’s heads; as he is in no way associated with the fox.

Personality

Personality: No matter in what light you view him, coming up with an overall “personality” to associate with Satoshi is a truly difficult task. Satoshi truly is a “man of many faces”, and before one can even begin to comprehend what truly drives this man, it is important to first understand his actual traits; the characteristics that build a person. While this may seem like an obvious statement when talking about a personality, it is especially important to keep this in mind when one views Satoshi; a man who is by no means of the word obvious or normal. Of course, with a title like “Satoshi the Trickster”, the only obvious conclusion there is to reach is that this is the perfect diving-in point for this man’s character. Yes, not just a title contrived within his ego but more an infamous concept of him from the perspective of others, the most general quality of this man is that of a trickster; sarcastic, mischievous, and maybe just a tad bit malevolent.

If it hasn’t been made clear enough by now, Satoshi fits the idea of a trickster quite well; playing pranks, cracking jokes, and generally just being an overall nuisance to deal with. However, while these actions of Satoshi’s are easy to spot, the actual drive behind them still remains quite a mystery. Yes, his actions may define him to others, but his drives define his actions to himself. So, first and foremost, it should be noted that that Satoshi is “a man who loves to enjoy”. His goal in life is, well, quite honestly nonexistent. To say that Satoshi strives to enjoy himself through his actions would be a grave misconception, as it leads one to believe that his demeanor is driven by an actual strive to have fun. To state it bluntly, Satoshi does not live to have fun; he lives and has fun. While his pranks may bring him entertainment, he does not play them for the end goal of having fun. Once again, the simplest explanation is not that Satoshi wants to have fun, but that he just ends up having fun. Of course, if the drive of these pranks is not entertainment, then what truly makes Satoshi play them?

Aside from entertainment, there are two other qualities commonly associated with Satoshi “trickster” nature; sarcasm and malevolence. Sure, every person may use sarcasm to one extent or another multiple times throughout their lives, but none can so accurately define sarcasm as Satoshi. As would be expected, the most detectable levels of this sarcasm can be gauged through his speech and inflections; and the implementation of sarcasm throughout Satoshi’s dialogue is almost sophisticated enough to be defined as its own language. Normally, sarcasm is a device one works into their speech to emphasize a point, but Satoshi seems to instead work speech into the concept of sarcasm; even going so far as to form an entirely logical argument with his sarcasm as the thesis that is drawn upon un-ironically. Of course, speech is not the only gauge of sarcasm, and even within his actions and “tricks” exists some sort of sarcastic irony. A prime example of this would be the ceremonial fox mask that he can usually be seen wearing. Basically, because Satoshi knows full well the common conception of foxes as “mischievous” animals and general tricksters, he wears the mask in a sort of ironic sarcasm; one that cannot be fully understood until his snake’s eye is revealed. And yet, once again, this sarcasm cannot be considered a true drive to Satoshi’s actions; as sarcasm itself is only but the ends to a mean.

By this point, the general perception of Satoshi has been painted quite clearly as that of a natural trickster; though his tricks may be mischievous, they are generally not done out of any true ill will. However, when one fully looks into his animalistic trait and fully views his right eye of the snake, the tone of his “pranks” takes a sharp and unexpected turn towards malevolence. Basically, his snake’s eye represents a darker, more sinister tone that all of Satoshi’s tricks could take; and indeed do tend to take once the eye is truly revealed. Of course, while the snake does represent the “evil” potential within Satoshi, it is not an actual separate entity such as a Hollow or Ziamichi Spirit. No, the snake’s eye represents a side of Satoshi that, while he despises it, is just as much a part of himself as any other. In fact, once the eye of the snake is revealed and this side to Satoshi emerges, one of the true driving forces of his “trickster” persona is revealed; a desire for “innocence”. Though it may not be the most accurate term, the word “innocence” is a good way to define his drives; as it both hides and attempts to repress the darker sides of his persona. Essentially, the reason for many of the pranks he pulls and the heavy implementation of sarcasm is because those actions, while “mischievous” are still innocent in nature. Yes, his tricks and pranks may get in your way, and his sarcasm definitely rubs some people the wrong way, these actions are not done out of any type of ill will or “malevolence”. As his “title” suggests, Satoshi is the true personification of “the trickster”, but as such, he encompasses the entire scope of the trickster from innocent to pure malevolence.

Now, while the trickster may be his overarching persona, there are many more character traits that go into building up who Satoshi truly is. For starters, there actually is a secondary drive to many of Satoshi’s actions that, while very important, are more on a subconscious level hidden from even Satoshi himself. Not only does he strive to separate himself from the malevolence of the snake, on a subconscious level, Satoshi actually has quite a few relationship and intimacy problems. Being this trickster and “wordsmith of sarcasm”, Satoshi has generally been avoided by many of the other Sugiura as they view him as a nuisance. Of course, there is another reason why Satoshi is avoided, and that is due to the nature of his origin and animalistic trait, for those who know it. Because the snake’s influence when uncovered is basically the representation of his “evil”, any who have ever gotten close enough to truly view it are unfortunately subject to its malevolent nature. However, with this malevolence revealed, most times it is not any actions that he commits against said person that drives them away, but the fact that they can never view his true personality in the same light anymore. Once the “evil” that could drive and result from any of his actions has been revealed, it is near impossible for most to ever trust Satoshi again. Unfortunately, because of the steps that Satoshi must take to keep his own nature in check, a rather unsavory cycle has been created that can essentially feed upon itself and makes it hard for Satoshi to enter many true, close relationships.

Of course, because he strives to separate himself from the snake’s eye, Satoshi himself is quite capable of caring about others; it is just getting close or forging a relationship that is difficult. Granted, there really aren’t many ways to tell if Satoshi has actually cares about someone, as his actions and demeanor towards them remains relatively unchanged. He will still play tricks on them, he will still speak to them with his sarcasm, and he still subconsciously avoids any true closeness. Granted, there are a few ways to attempt to determine if Satoshi cares about someone, though they are in no way obvious. For starters, if Satoshi cares about a person, he will tend to prank them a bit more than others, or just even play around with them more. Since this is actually one of the more confusing signs, not many people can actually call it, and unfortunately it can very well end up driving them further away from him. That being said, none of it is ever bad natured, and while it may frustrate them, it generally does not breed hatred. Of course, when viewed with the second clue, the first one gains a bit more sense; being that Satoshi will make an extra effort to hide/suppress the nature of the snake’s eye from these persons. Essentially, he wishes to keep away the side of his persona that tends to push others away from himself, and in doing so, also ends up overdoing the “more innocent” side to his trickster personality to hide it. Not only that, but around those he actually cares about, Satoshi is very cautious of any movements towards his face, especially the right side; as he does not wish to have the snake’s eye revealed to them. Though this may be an action taken with the end goal of protecting them, Satoshi can, unfortunately, become rather aggressive and sometimes even violent in these attempts. So in the end, actually getting close to Satoshi does require quite a bit of patience to deal with his imperfections, as well as a willingness to accept that there is a side to him that he does not wish to reveal.

Now, moving away from “personal issues”, the characteristics that Satoshi displays during battle are a bit different than what has been expressed thus far. Yes, Satoshi does remain a trickster even in battle, and both his battle style and origin reflect this nature almost perfectly. As expected, he does enjoy to “play with his opponents” a bit, and because of the natures of his techniques, this is often a result of him simply reacting to the battle itself. Of course, unlike many other fighters, Satoshi does actually enjoy some dialogue when fighting, and he is most definitely not the “silent fighter” type. Along with taunts, sarcasm, and the occasional pun, Satoshi just plain loves to mess with his opponent’s head while engaging them. This all being said, there is one thing that Satoshi actually does refrain from doing during a battle; and that is giving any information about any of his techniques.

Natural Abilities

Mystic Eyes of Malevolence-Right Eye of the Snake: Another oddity about Satoshi that, while he is  Magus Sugiura, he is in possession of a pair of Mystic Eyes; the Mystic Eyes of Malevolence. Well, actually, “pair” and “eyes” are not the best words to describe this trait in Satoshi, as his only effects one eye, his right. Still, while it is technically only a “Mystic Eye”, Satoshi’s “Right Eye of the Snake” (this Mystic Eye’s other name) is still counted among one of the Sugiura’s Mystic Eyes. Of course, the name easily gives away the appearance of the eye, that of a snakes; crimson red with a black slit pupil. This, however, is the last simplicity that this eye holds. As for the origin, this particular eye is actually an inherited trait, though it is not passed through the parents per say. Basically, this eye is a symbol of the snake and is inherited by the one born with said animal’s characteristics; the magic circuits being present from birth. Of course, the snake symbolizes more than just malicious intent, but also symbolizes deception, trickery, and “The Trickster”; all of which are usual traits of those who inherit this Mystic Eye. Because of these symbolisms, the Right Eye of the Snake is viewed as a curse upon whoever is born with this Mystic Eye; meaning that the bearer is often treated as an outcast. However, this sort of forced social pariah role is not due to simply superstition or ancient traditions, but has also come around due to its powers. Of course, while it may be one of the more or even most rare of the Mystic Eyes, the Mystic Eyes of Malevolence seem to have some rather… odd effects and abilities.

For starters, unlike most of the Mystic Eyes, this one is particularly hard to actually control; in fact, it is rumored that to control the snake’s eye is an impossible task. Of course, this is not only because of the eye’s own effects, but because whoever has this Mystic Eye has had it and had it active since birth. This actually leads well into the next peculiar effect that this Mystic Eye has, and that is that it is always active without any prompts or usage from the wielder. Because of this, those with this Mystic Eye tend to have a slightly higher overall energy consumption and usually end up being underweight. There is, however, one way to keep this eye under control, something so simple it seems almost absurd. Simply put, to “keep this eye under control”, or more accurately deactivate it, is to have the actual eye covered so that it cannot see a thing. While this both sounds and truly is quite a simple method, any material used to cover the eye has to be specially made so that the fabric is thick enough to block out it’s enhanced sight and must contain at least a small amount of reiatsu. Should any of this type of fabric be unavailable, Satoshi is able to keep his right eye covered with both palms to temporarily block out its effects, but this is both not a long-term solution, and means that so long as he wishes to keep the powers inactive both of his hands will be occupied leaving him hardly able to fight. Because of this, and the fact that he really does not like the powers of his Mystic Eye, Satoshi tends to willingly avoid people, at least so far as any actual relationships go, and is usually very protective of the fabric covering his eye.

Finally, with all of this build up, the actual powers of the Mystic Eyes of Malevolence-“Right Eye of the Snake” are actually rather… disappointing. Well, it is not that they do not have very potent powers, but when compared to counterparts such as the “Mystic Eyes of Death Perception”, Satoshi’s seems to have some pretty lackluster powers. For starters, the most prominent power of the Right Eye of the Snake is to alter Satoshi’s personality. Actually, it does not so much “alter” his personality in the sense that it gives him a new one, but instead, unlocks the full scope of his personality and the role of the trickster. Of course, because Satoshi so openly accepts the role of the trickster, the biggest noticeable change once the eye is uncovered is that he will become more sadistic, mean spirited, and, for a lack of clichéd descriptions, “evil”. Essentially, this is the worst side to Satoshi’s personality, a side that he keeps hidden as he does not agree with its nature. Well, that, and because Satoshi so openly enjoys the role of the trickster simply to have fun. However, this is not the only power that the Right Eye of the Snake possesses, and the next two, while not as noticeable as the realization of the darker sides of his personality, are definitely it’s more dangerous ones. The first of these two, while it does go along with the affected personality, is more of a type of shift to Satoshi’s “Trickster and Illogicality” powers. Just as with the personality, all of Satoshi’s spells or “tricks” become much more sadistic, dark, and pretty much intended to cause pain. While the effects of this power vary from trick to trick, the general consensus is that it ends up making Satoshi’s tricks much more violent and dangerous. Of course, this being said, all of Satoshi’s tricks must still involve its principles of illogicality and still must be actual tricks. While this may seem like an odd and fairly specific power for a Mystic Eye to have, it should be noted that those who inherit the eye do end up embodying these aspects of the snake, and thus have powers that work similarly or the same with the eye. In fact, there is even some speculation as to whether the Right Eye of the Snake itself is the cause of its host’s powers. Of course, because Satoshi can use his tricks and illogicality perfectly while the eye is covered and inactive, this is most likely not the situation; though the eye’s presence may have influenced Satoshi gaining his Magecraft.

Finally, the last power of the Mystic Eye is, well, the ability to cause accidents. Yes, this last power is actually a rather odd one even in comparison, though it does follow along with the persona of the snake. Being viewed as a trickster, a tempter, and just general “evil” creature, the snake holds a grudge upon all those who look down upon it; whether or not their judgments are true. To do this, the Mystic Eye uses its grudge to have tragedies befall all those around it. Of course, the actual power doesn’t necessarily work that way. For starters, this is the one power of the Mystic Eye that requires the user to have visual contact with the target. Using its malevolent aura, the Right Eye of the Snake essentially… inflicts its target with bad luck. Well, ok, not necessarily “bad luck”, but, it causes any possible accident that could actually affect the target will happen so long as it is in effect. For example, say this power was used upon an opponent standing around some scaffolding when targeted by this power. As soon as the power takes effect, said scaffolding will suddenly collapse down upon the opponent; a clear accident. While the actual “accidents” will differ from setting to setting, pretty much all of them end up having a negative consequence for the opponent. Unfortunately for this power, however, there are quite a few conditions that need to be met in order to use it; the main being that the target must always be within Satoshi’s sight to afflict the accidents upon it. Aside from that, the biggest thing to keep in mind when using this power is that the greater the accident, the more energy it costs to cause. Because of this, Satoshi is usually only able to cause one accident for an opponent at a time, and then must allow the ability to cool down for a few minutes before it can be used again. Now, while this description of the Mystic Eyes of Malevolence make it seem that it has many different powers, it is important to remember that this is all technically the same effect. The true ability this Mystic Eye has to affect the outer world is quite simply in its name; Malevolence. Put simply, its effects cause “bad things” to happen, it just has three main ways in which said “bad things” do happen. Of course, because of these effects, Satoshi actually dislikes using this Mystic Eye, and because of this, not only does he rarely ever use it (most of the time the usages are purely accidental), but he also seems to be able to actually make himself re-cover the eye despite the darker side of his personality being revealed, just not right away.

Magecraft

Origin: Trickster/Trickery; Illogicality
As with Satoshi himself, the concept or “principle” behind his Magecraft is rather odd and unique. While most Magecraft is based upon logical “principles”, such as territory control, elemental/material control, or even the more complex variants of “severing and binding” or “reality modification”; Satoshi’s Magecraft is based on a purely illogical principle: “Trickery”. No matter how complex, all other forms of Magecraft function off of a logical set of rules; while their effects can seem miraculous, they all still have a logical process binding their spells. Basically, this Trickster Magecraft is not based upon any set of logic, but instead exists to “avoid logic”. This is not to say that Satoshi is able to do anything he wants with his Magecraft; being based upon illogicality, all of his spells or “tricks” are governed by a set of rules that force illogical outcomes instead of logical ones. In practice, this turns Satoshi into a truly unpredictable force in battle; as no logical conclusions can be made for his actions. Sure, it may be possible for an opponent to determine that Satoshi’s powers are based upon a principle of illogicality, but even by knowing that, they could still not comprehend his actual abilities because there is no logical way to. The main catch to this style of Magecraft is that there cannot be an actual logical definition for the “tricks” he is performing. A prime example of this sort of illogical process is Satoshi’s ability to “dodge an attack after being hit”. The actual statement of his ability literally defies all logical sense, and as such, Satoshi is allowed to perform said trick. Note that “because the trick was illogical” is not a logical cause, as the argument itself is illogical. Illogicality is this Magecraft’s logic, and the more disconnected and illogical a trick becomes, the stronger it will be. Also, none of these tricks are illusions, but each one is in fact an actual event or physical “construct” that actually exists; thus furthering the illogicality. Finally, there are a few different levels of illogicalities that Satoshi can use, some more powerful than others. Generally speaking, the simpler the illogicality, the stronger the ability; as the more complex ways of being illogical tend to border on logic.

Of course, there is actually surprisingly more to the Magecraft of illogicality used by Satoshi, and that is found in the full title of its origin; trickery and illogicality. While all of his spells or “tricks” must be bound to illogical conclusions, they must also have to be able to be classified as actual tricks; even if a bit loosely. While this may seem like a bit of a pointless “rule” when a trick seems to cover a wide range of actions, it is actually very important to this Magecraft’s overall usage and the fulfillment of its origin of trickery. Basically, to be classified as a “trick”, each of Satoshi’s spells must have a fully thought out scheme; Satoshi must know the trick he wishes to perform and what he wants it to do. So, using the trick mentioned earlier to “dodge an attack after being hit”, Satoshi’s actual goal must not only be to simply dodge the attack, but instead to have the opponent think they have hit him when in reality he dodged after being hit; thus making it a true trick. So, what this means is that each spell will implement some sort of deception of the target, but instead of being mere sleight of hand, it is Satoshi doing the exact illogicality that he appeared to have done. Now, while each of his tricks must involve this deception, said deception does not actually have to have been effective for Satoshi to pull off the trick. This does not mean that he can just throw any crap together that would never fool anyone and use it because it is illogical, but that the deception of the trick is actually plausible. Then again, because he is allowed to perform these tricks illogically, there is quite a bit of leeway to just how far a trick can go and still be deception, as even simple tricks can become deceptive when there is no logical way to perform them.

Spells/”Tricks”:

Afutā kawasu アフターかわす (lit. After-dodge/I Fend Off After): The first and probably most used out of Satoshi’s tricks, “Afutā kawasu” is the aforementioned “to dodge an attack after being hit” trick. Of course, given the trick’s name and that description, there is really not much more to add. To begin with, this ability is used at the moment that Satoshi would actually be hit by an attack and not actually after being hit. The moment this ability is used, Satoshi himself is teleported away from harm; landing outside of the range of the attack and completely unharmed. However, what truly makes this a trick is the fact that the actual movement from any perspective other than Satoshi’s happens after he gets hit by the attack. Basically, what the opponent and even any ally would see is Satoshi getting hit by the attack, and being hit with any damage that attack would cause; followed by him immediately vanishing. Of course, this ability not only works on sight, but also every other sense. If the opponent were to, say, hit Satoshi with a sword swing when he uses this ability, they would still feel the physical result of having cut someone with a sword. Not only that, but his energy signature too also remains at the “Satoshi” that is being slashed, and only moves to his location after said “Satoshi” everyone else sees disappears. As with the rest of his tricks, this is in no way an illusion; as everything that is seen is actually happening. When used normally, this trick can be used once per post.

Kakurenbō 隠れん坊 (lit. Hide and Seek): Another one of Satoshi’s tricks that works similarly to the first, “Kakurenbō” is more of a secondary trick. To use it, Satoshi simply needs to hide behind something; anywhere so that the opponent cannot see the majority of his body. After doing this, the trick seemingly does nothing, as Satoshi stays “hidden”, with the opponent still able to sense him. However, as soon as the opponent either looks for Satoshi where he hid, or attacks him, Satoshi will immediately appear wherever he chooses; even thousands of yards away from an opponent. To put it simply, not only can this ability be used to catch an opponent off guard, Satoshi can also use this to simply run away from a fight. While it does seem quite similar to “Afutā kawasu”, it is a little bit more instant, as he does not need to get hit first before being able to move. This is also not a simple “high speed movement” technique such as a Shunpo, as the movement is instant, and it can ignore any obstacles. This ability can be used once every other post, and is not changed any by the mystic eyes.

Damasu Tanken 騙す短剣 (lit. Dagger to Fool): Unlike Satoshi’s other tricks, “Damasu Tanken” falls into a sort of subcategory of tricks that Satoshi uses; known as “Artifact Tricks” as the trick is done through an item created through Satoshi’s magic. To use any of these Artifact Tricks, Satoshi will first reach his right hand into his left sleeve, and then simply pull out whatever artifact he wishes to use. This in and of itself is also counted as a trick, as the item is seemingly stored literally in Satoshi’s sleeve as he does not technically “create” them during battle; he only pulls them out. Of course, were you to look up his sleeve, you would not see any of these items, and as well they do not fall out during battle. As for the dagger’s actual ability, just as with the rest of Satoshi’s tricks, it is very simple; the lighter Satoshi’s attack, the greater the damage. Basically, this means that the lighter the damage Satoshi should be causing, the greater the actual damage he causes, and vice versa. For example, should Satoshi lightly knick an opponent with his dagger, the damage caused would be as if he had stabbed his entire dagger into the opponent and then twisted it around a bit. Of course, at the same time, were Satoshi to try and attack his opponent with a strong attack, his opponent would only take minor damage. Because of this, the actual fighting style of using this dagger can be quite odd, as Satoshi has to purposefully attack his opponent as weakly as possible. While this fighting style may be unorthodox, there are some advantages to it. Because Satoshi does not need strength behind any of his attacks, he can instead focus only on speed; hitting the opponent with a flurry of light attacks that under normal circumstances would be completely pointless. However, at the same time, this also means that, should the opponent manage to block one of his dagger attacks, they will be able to do so with little effort, as each individual strike is weak. Basically, while his strikes may be fast and hard to block in time, they are extremely easy to block.

Aside from its normal ability, “Damasu Tanken” also gains a secondary trick while his “Right Eye of the Snake” Mystic Eyes are active. Once per post, while his Mystic Eyes are active, Satoshi gains the ability to stab himself with the dagger, causing his opponent to receive the same amount of damage as he inflicted upon himself. The easiest way to envision this ability is to think of a voodoo doll, with Satoshi’s body being the doll. For example, were he to stab the dagger through his hand, his opponent will also receive the exact same amount of damage, as if they had just had a dagger stabbed through their hand; regardless of their own strength, defense, or endurance. Of course, while this ability may seem overly powerful, it does suffer from one major drawback; Satoshi must first cause the damage to himself. Yes, Satoshi will also be suffering the exact same amount of damage as inflected to his opponent, so he can only use this ability to his own damage limit (though the damage caused to the opponent will still be the same as if Satoshi were them, causing this amount of damage to himself). So far, the best usage of this ability is a double edge sword; disabling one of his own limbs to disable an opponents. For example, Satoshi could stab the dagger into his left arm, digging it around until he severed the nerves in said hand an made it completely useless, which would then cause the exact same damage to happen to the opponent, making their own left arm useless. Of course, Satoshi will also be feeling the exact same amount of pain as his opponent, so this ability can only be used sparingly, and he is also unable to do this with lethal damage; as to do so would mean that he needs to cause lethal damage to himself, which would kill him before the ability was able to take effect.
